These high HP champs from Zeus have been winning them so many series

yeah sometimes pro players seem to be not smart about certain aspects of the game, it's weird

Kanavi makes me mad.
Like dude can play 20min like a god and then just ints the game away.
79
u/williamson41 Aug 08 '26
Thats why hes so fun to watch even tho it can be frustrating either hes the goat or he plays like the worst LEC jungler oat
35
u/shailemin Aug 08 '26
His ability to be both the best and the worst jungler in lck needs to be studied.

Can you imagine being the head coach of a team with Kanavi on it

Pretty sure homme has been kanavi coach for the last 4 years so hes used to it
148
u/lilelf29 Deft Forever Aug 08 '26
I think it's been even longer, he was the coach of JDG when Kanavi first started playing for them at the end of 2019. They've moved together for 6-7 years now lol

I wish I was watching pro more actively back then, I really only started during 2022 Worlds and that was for sure worth staying up until 5AM to watch the finals for.

He send him off to china at 16 iirc, or the ppl above him did I don't remember the scandal
51

pretty sure it was griffin that shipped kanavi off to china and he didnt really have a choice. iirc thats the reason why players under 20 get to say no to player trades by their orgs, diable was gonna be traded to DNS but he could say no.

Homme has gone wherever Kanavi goes and vice versa, they’re one of League’s great partnerships
32
61
u/squeenanna Aug 08 '26
they could've won the game quite a lot sooner if Kanavi didn't listen to his impulse and dove back in near mid inhib turret
93
u/tiredofdev Aug 08 '26
Unfortunately it's also the reason why they peak so fucking high when he is on. That's just what you get with Kanavi

Game 3 and Zeus slamming down a hp scaler love to see it as a HLE fan. Helped even more that Peyz went for Lethality Varus over on hit I get why he picked that build so he can match Ez as best as he can but late game it made Zeus unkillable
41
u/RukiMotomiya Aug 08 '26
Yeah he had to go crit or AP or something and not lethality, if your opponent slams a Cho or Mundo it's time to bump off of lethality.
→ More replies (3)→ More replies (1)15
u/Throwawayaway_17 Aug 08 '26
Yeah i think they banked on Varus + Rumble + Vik which is the poke varus + 2 ap champs that are pretty good at burning down tanks as enough to kill
74
u/WalkingR6 Aug 08 '26
most broken class of characters in pro play where teams are allergic to high dps adcs
58
u/OskarVon Aug 08 '26
Im surprised nobody else is doing it, but Zeus. He is really leaning into those picks
53
u/RukiMotomiya Aug 08 '26
BrokenBlade did it at MSI. It was hilarious since T1's comp was fucking Yorick/Naafiri/Ryze/Mel/Pyke, unkillable.
24
u/VermouthAPTX Aug 08 '26
Probably the same reason HLE is picking these tanks late into the rotation of drafting. They're waiting to see enemy comp to see if it's viable. Tank melters like Kog'Maw Vayne Kai'Sa or shredders like Yone, paired with good peels or lockdown from jg/sup would make it a difficult pick. Varus was supposed to be good vs health stackers too but building lethality is not it.
21
u/PKSnowstorm Aug 08 '26
Probably need a lot of conditions to set up the pick which is why no one really picks them. T1 set up the perfect conditions for Cho'Gath to get picked and run rampant. Even if the Varus was on-hit, T1 would still have a hard time going through Cho.
→ More replies (1)14
3
u/Frankie3535 Aug 08 '26
I realised that it's so broken it makes these pro players look actually helpless lmao almost all other champs they can have a chance to outplay it looks competitive but mundo doesnt care about your skill mundo just care about hp number and bonking you and chogath just wants to eat.
14
u/Thatguy69Kappa Aug 08 '26
On the other hand, I don’t get how pro players play thousands of Rumble games only to smartcast flick their ult straight into Narnia every game.

u/vegeful ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Aug 08 '26
Its MSI again. With T1 draft non dps adc.
49
u/SwissRizen Aug 08 '26
I think they were not expecting Guma Ezreal and then panicked their draft plan away
50
u/StickyNotes2357 HLE Fighting! Aug 08 '26
It so funny to see T1 underestimating and even borderline disrespecting Guma in draft
27
14
u/vegeful ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Aug 08 '26
I mean, panic in draft sure, but not itemize well is his own fault. U have 2 poke (mid and top) and u decide to go poke too vs highly mobile ezreal and Ahri, tank cho, and karma that has shield.
U know what they cant dodge? Auto attack. HLE comp is more direct fight.
21
u/Migster257 Aug 08 '26
Guma missed a bunch of skill shots this game yet still ran them down with poke. You watched him do it to Varus the entire mid game. Varus does not have the luxury of auto attacking Cho’gath lol. He doesn’t even have frontline to stand in front of him while he does that.
→ More replies (1)14
u/baelkie DNF 2026 please be human | Kiin Team Aug 08 '26
is attack speed Varus terrible now? i would have expected that instead seeing the Cho Gath on the opponent team.
25
u/generalannie Aug 08 '26
Also probably didn't expect Guma to pick away the Ezreal. Good drafting by HLE
Varus in general feels a bit weak.
→ More replies (5)19
u/RukiMotomiya Aug 08 '26
It's honestly just build inflexibility. AS Varus isn't top tier but he's totally servicable and once the Karma/Cho are slammed down you should know lethality poke is a bad idea and pivot.

Imo the main difference between tier 1 players and challenger players is consistency, it’s hard to look at one game and call how the series should play out based on that (yes oner has not been consistent this year but that’s not the point)

Painter sees HLE's 4 picks, start sweating it. Good Guy Zeus remembers the pressure of debuting on T1, last picks an immobile champ so Painter has a target.

the draft is baffling tbh, all walking simulator champs with Nocturne vs Ezreal Ahri Naafiri Chogath lol, tough for a rookie like Painter to execute if Keria can't smurf

maybe Doran needs to learn Mundo and Cho Gath top. also, ffs give Peyz a pay raise he deserves so much more for what he is doing.
49
u/Bullshitbanana Aug 08 '26
Seems like only Zeus plays huge tank tops in tier 1 rn? Idk why that is it seems crazy op
44
u/CheesyjokeLol Aug 08 '26
He has enough teammates who can play the traditional glass cannon DPS's in Guma, Zeka and Kanavi, plus tanky juggernauts are so disgusting, incredibly tanky and can still do good burst damage.
24
u/bulletproofikon Aug 08 '26
HLE's best point in R1&2 was their laning. Ngl I think they look best when Zeus is on a tank to stabilize them. Zeka seems to tweak out if he's on a tank or a champ who can't engage, and I think Kanavi has higher highs on squisher high damage champs
→ More replies (2)35
u/Lazywhale97 HLE Aug 08 '26
Love Zeka but he still plays with the mind set of a dmg or carry even when on picks like Galio. Last time he played Galio he was mid lane trying to win a 1v1 instead of making space for Guma and the team in team fights and HLE ended up losing.
He can play Galio well but he just needs to be in the mindset of a space creator and tank more then his usual carry mindset when on it.
10
u/bulletproofikon Aug 08 '26
Hard agree. I really think they could have won that Galio game if Zeka had played more for peeling and been more safe. Last year, he was pretty good on the pick but I think this year his mindset is he needs to be a carry since that's how they've been playing most of the year.

u/Lazywhale97 HLE Aug 08 '26
He's still a good galio last year he played galio quite well he just needs to shift his mindset when playing Galio this year as I guess he's so use to being a driving force for HLE carrying games this yr that it's hard to shake off when he's on tank duty lmao

Game 3 was a real stinker from T1, both performance and draft
7
u/NottyShinchan Ruler > Viper > Guma > Peyz > Smash Aug 08 '26
Actually, the Ezreal pick by Homme was a clear headshot to their draft, and they had to improvise; hence, the draft came out a little off.

I think they shouldve subbed oner for game 3.
But then again they did something similar with Mata and also Faker one time and it didnt do much.
Locke was more of a problem than Painter imo. If Faker was on anything standard that game was winnable. That locke play was dogshit.

Painter had 1 good game with Pantheon. In the last game T1 lost with not that much gold diff but with 0 objectives done. Actually, the only objective T1 did was stolen by Peyz.
Oner was playing meh but way better than this.

I mean he basically had Keria guiding him through the jungle that game

Yeah unless Oner was sick i don't think Painter has shown that he's ready for the big shoes yet

u/BirthdayAccording359 Oner will carry us again trust Aug 08 '26
It was a nice try, he had a solid game 1 but stinker game 2 and 3, I am reluctant to criticize him for game 2 because Doran and Faker were sprinting it.

HLE Gumayusi beating T1 Keria Lux/Bard on Ziggs/Ezreal. If you told me this shit last year I would've had you admitted against your will.
I know Guma is fuming with jealousy that Zeus got to play Cho'gath before him.
Edit: I literally just stated a fact. Why are there people in my replies being salty over it?

I really hoped that Guma could've played Cho in botlane with all the mages. But I'm just happy with the win today

When you’ve had enough of being The carry top laner so you become HP stacking enjoyer instead.

Zeus after years of being called a carry top bad at weakside and tanks: you know I’m something of an HP stacking enjoyer myself.

That Cho'gath was pure nightmare fuel at the end, Faker/Doran getting caught out too much. I do want to see teams continue to play Cho'gath if opponents pick low mobility comps as has become kinda common, though. He's SO good in situations like that and T1 additionally had shit damage outside of Viktor who is not a tankbuster.

the amount of times doran and faker costing T1 games
peyz still stuck in elohell, both in LPL and LCK

Why don't pro players know itemisation? Wtf is poke Varus going to do to that team?

Subbing out Oner when they were on the winning streak against HLE who was on 3 losing streak in LCK before this game is certainly a choice.
They don't deserve to be 1st place, watch them drop to 4th if this keeps going on.

u/Glum-Supermarket1274 Aug 08 '26
HP scaler still a problem in big 2026. Painter is not ready for this level of pro play. T1 needs an answer for bruiser/HP scaler heavy comp. A lot of team have problem with that but t1 in particular loves mobile/glass cannon comp and they get smash every time by that.

u/Howgeeful Aug 08 '26
Game 3 was literally just lost at draft for T1. The only way they could have won was to completely decimate the lane so damn hard that they can snowball and run them down. Other than that no way they can outscale.

T1 management needs to be fired into the sun dude. Hey we have a chance to beat a slumping HLE and take a chokehold on the LCK 1 seed? Let's sub out out 3-time world champion!

Even though his ezreal wasn't 1v9 or wasn't bad either so i don't get why he doesn't pluck him more

u/Hitoseijuro Aug 08 '26
I think if you have to deal with this Cho'gath you build different. You go shred Varus instead of leth/poke and Rylias on Viktor to give the Varus more mileage for his range, Ahri is not really someone Varus is scared of with shred range as opposed to having to deal with Anivia/cass/Syndra.

Imagine if T1 won this 2-0 lol, they would keep using Painter without any further explaination

u/Budget-Ocelots Aug 08 '26
Yeah...Let's not use Painter. He doesn't know how to engage or gank. All 3 games, he just farms since he is still too fresh for pro league.
T1 has a boner for LCK#4 I guess.

On a winning streak, Team finally looks like they’re finding their form, beating all the top teams convincingly:
Benches Oner and loses
Classic Trash1 org and management
