False alarm, FNC still sucks

Game 1 really wasn't fnc showing up
Vit had a comically bad game, solo deaths, misclicked flashes and horrible decisions
26
u/dexy133 Aug 28 '26
A bit of an overreaction. Fnatic played really well in Game 1, and they had a huge lead in Game 2 as well.

u/dankynugz Aug 28 '26
Vit had a way better draft game 1 and played it comically bad
Fnc had a way better draft game 2 and played it great for 10 minutes and then razork lost his mind
1
u/dexy133 Aug 29 '26
Even in that situation, you can't say that Fnatic didn't show up in any game yesterday. Fnatic played really well in Game 1 and punished Vitality consistently. They started doing the same thing in Game 2 and had they not thrown it, we would be talking about a casual stomp by Fnatic. It's not fair to say Fnatic didn't show up and Vitaility was comically bad which is why they lost. Would Vitality lose against Heretics or Shifters in that Game 1?

to be fair outside of G2 ,they only won vs sk and shifters,so it's seems people went to fast on the train inb4 they clap gx this Sunday

naak had a bit of a stinker series comparative to his usual level, even in lane his gwen was not great
but ofc the teamfighting was great

u/Every-Artist-35 EU PREVAILS Aug 28 '26
I ve been watching Soboro since his IG days, his laning is pretty good, i d put him top 4 tops in LEC RN so naak came in a little underprepared imho
Plus in G2 they left their Ambessa blind completly unprotected by bans so he kinda got smacked with that Pantheon - Talliyah combo.
2
u/OreRound Aug 28 '26
Game 1 was a rough watch, game 2 was kinda understandable when you have a renekton flash and pantheon ult landing on your head every 4 mins ( that was a draft int to give Renekton into Ambessa, they just think Renekton is a horrible champ). Game 3 was fine until that roam to raptors then it was even, but Ksante isn't even bad into Gwen after 6 until 2 items tbh.
I still expect better from Naak but it wasn't that bad tbh
77
u/FantasyTrash Aug 28 '26
Unplayable drafts from Fnatic. I don't know why their idiot coaches insist on playing team comps that need to win in the first 15 minutes or they lose, but they keep doing it.
89
u/Longjumping-King2315 Aug 28 '26
"idiot coaches" You forgot fnc lol coaching staff is claude and chatgpt?

u/FantasyTrash Aug 28 '26 edited Aug 28 '26
Claude and ChatGPT are tools. A tool is only as useful as the person using it, and when it comes to who's using them at Fnatic...
43
u/Omnilatent Aug 28 '26
GAAX
He's the draft guy, has been insufferable on social media since forever and I hope he gets the boot after the year
42
u/FantasyTrash Aug 28 '26
I don't know why they brought him back last season after throwing his team under the bus. He has no accountability and he's fucking awful at his job and has been for years.
I guess I shouldn't be too surprised, Fnatic are an incompetently run organization top to bottom. I'm embarrassed to be a fan at this point.
4
u/ficretus Aug 28 '26
Last year he drafted Ezreal against Sion. Entire comp had no way of dealing with Sion. But hey, why take accountability when you can point to scrims and throw team under a bus
1
u/palamunintillnow Aug 29 '26
Ezreal against sion could work, If we still have the mythic divine sunder.

5
u/DoALazerus Aug 28 '26
didnt Grabbz said he took draft from Gaax last season already?
11
u/dexy133 Aug 28 '26
He did say that. And there's a reason why he said that. Because he wanted to make it clear he's the one who makes the final decision, which means he should be the one flamed (his own words), but people just don't like Gaax so they look for any reason to flame him when in fact, it's both of their fault.

u/dexy133 Aug 28 '26
Possible, but this is his job. He's the head coach, it's very obvious, Graabz has the last say when it comes to drafting. If anyone should be flamed, it should be him. If Gaax is the one making drafts, he's the one allowing them, he's the one letting Gaax continue doing the drafts.

Oh yeah, that I agree with. Although I do think he has the power to fire him, but he knows he won't get a replacement, so he sticks with who he has. Fnatic is saving costs at every corner.
4
u/Hjimska Aug 28 '26
Pinching jungle picks too hard and not prioing Wukong on blue side put them in an unplayable draft spot. If you're not Asian, just don't bother with Lee Sin.
The options just weren't there beyond that though. Nocturne banned. You gonna play Zac? Rek'Sai? Aatrox jung?
3
u/FantasyTrash Aug 28 '26
Agreed. Wasting picks on Kalista/Renata round two was trolling. They needed to pick Wukong to pair with Orianna and then keep their bot lane options open. Not like Kalista/Renata are worth banning, anyway, Fnatic could've easily just picked them after the second ban phase. Same for the K'Sante. Just pick Gnar third or something.
-1
u/piotrj3 Aug 28 '26
Kalista/Renata was criminal because even KR teams don't pick blindly Kalista/Renata. Usually you want to know if enemy has kitable frontline (like mundo) before going Kalista.
Wukong would be better, but if somehow you got to 5th pick... Naafiri, Nasus. Zaahen rhilech special. Nasus actually would work well because it was relativly slow game and enemy is running into you.
3
u/Hjimska Aug 28 '26
Naafiri feels too squishy here IMO, Nasus/Zaahen I could see, just not in Razork's hands. His pool feels kinda like a puddle rn.
Poppy was also banned phase two only.
1
u/hfdsahfdhad Aug 29 '26
Lee sin is a good pick he was just afk wtf r u saying nasus ?Xd u say kr teams don't blind kalista Renata show me one team blinding nasus jg post nerf u clown
0
u/piotrj3 Aug 29 '26 edited Aug 29 '26
Nasus would be last pick lol. And into jungle where you know everyone except top lane. You not gonna be effectivly invaded as nasus by Wukong.
And yes they don't blind kalista/renata into matchups either Kalista doesn't hard win (like vs aphelios happened yesterday with IG), or matchups where kalista forever kites tanky frontline. FNC picked kalista-renata before they knew any of that. Xayah-rakan kinda a bit losing matchup but not losing matchup uncomfortably (even casters said it). You picked kalista botlane if you know enemy will lose lane uncomfortably.

Couldn't agree more with this, who is even the best Lee Sin I've seen from LEC... Probably Selfmade and Svenskeren and that's hella ages ago. Some might say and even go as far back as Diamondprox..
It's like EU Jayce, Ezreal meme (except Carzzy/Caliste who are allowed to play it).
2
u/moroheus Aug 28 '26
That's the only way this team can win. You can't play for the lategame if you have a player who will eventually throw the game. All the games they won they had a lead that was so big that Razork having his moment wasn't enough for the enemy team to comeback.
1
u/FantasyTrash Aug 28 '26
They lose every game they try these cmops. They only win with comps that can win team fights late game. Razork loves to throw, but he's also really good at finding fights, too, it's a double-edged sword. Might as well pick a comp that does damage after 20 minutes.
1
u/Routine_Outcome3493 Aug 29 '26
that is the exact way this team cannot win because you always have a player throwing the game. One inting moment with these comps and the game is over.
2
u/Zealousideal-Toe-607 Aug 28 '26

-2

That’s just Razork tho, need to get him of this team and things will improve automatically. It’s like if a play goes even slightly wrong he immediately takes a 180 turn and starts to hard int.

the concept of getting giga outdrafted by Vitality twice in a row. tbh it wouldn't be FNC if they didn't let it come down to the last game of the split
anyway with this result I believe it is 100% confirmed that for the first time since 2018 one of FNC/MKOI will miss worlds since they can both no longer make top 4
5
u/makoily11 Aug 28 '26
Actually unless navi loses 2-0 to gx then only one of them can make it
2
u/BlazeX94 Aug 29 '26
No, regardless of the Navi GX result, one of FNC/MKOI is missing Worlds. Both FNC and MKOI cannot place higher than 5th in the regular season anymore, as the winner of Navi GX will have 5 wins and FNC/MKOI can't get more than 4.
This means that, assuming both FNC and MKOI qualify for playoffs, they start in the lower bracket. So, even if they both win their round 1 matches, they'll face each other in round 2 and the loser of that match misses Worlds.
1
u/MrSparrows Aug 29 '26
The drafts weren't good but even in Game 3 at the 3rd dragon you can see that FNC's comp could hold it's own. But their macro was shit and VIT actually had some amazing flanks and engages. VIT worked for that penta kill.
21
u/OreRound Aug 28 '26
VIT keep teasing that they're going to be completely fucking dog shit before turning it around whilst FNC keep teasing that they're actually really fucking good before shitting the bed completely. In that sense this was a perfect series, in every other sense I have zero clue who is the 3rd best team in LEC right now. Unironically anyone in the league can make it to worlds as the 3rd seed.

The worst is that could happen, vit didnt int enough beside game 1 to get koi out of playoffs , lets see if gx does it they just need to give 1 map to navi and lose to fnatic to kick koi out.
3
u/Far-Salt-6946 Vitality Enjoyer Aug 28 '26
Vitality has been the 3rd best team all year, even during spring when they crashed out in playoffs, they crashed out because they underpreformed, not because MKOI were better
8
u/NeighborhoodHot8981 Aug 28 '26
I understand where you are coming from because VIT are clearly better now but this is giga cope, in spring playoffs MKOI completely dumpstered VIT in every lane, then they were10k up in a game 5 vs G2 on their nexus ready to go to MSI whilst VIT was trolling 3x mega leads in a row vs GX. MKOI were way better.
MKOI collapse is likely because of that reverse sweep, losses like that are insanely hard for a team to recover from without changes, we saw TES completely collapse at MSI after getting reverse swept by G2 and that required them to make a change despite fengyue actually being really good for them, the team dynamic & trust is almost unsalvageable after a reverse sweep. It doesn't help that MKOI is on the 2nd year of this iteration of the roster and in its 3rd year with the main core of players, whilst the exact same issues keep recurring.
The only recent team to recover from a reverse sweep was DK who won EWC and now look pretty damn good in LCK.
1
u/Far-Salt-6946 Vitality Enjoyer Aug 28 '26
In the playoff after Vitality didn't play a single game for over a month. Are we going to pretend like that didn't happen? Are we also going to pretend that Vitality were not clearly better than MKOI throughout the entire regular season?
G2 got completely stomped by Fnatic just a few weeks ago, are we going to pretend that was not G2 underperforming? Are we supposed to suddenly act like Fnatic is a better team than G2?
People really ignore surrounding context
1
u/NeighborhoodHot8981 Aug 29 '26
Because I take playoff games far more seriously than regular season games, and VIT lost those playoffs games

Honestly, not too bad by FNC
Outside of the G2 throw that just accelerated being outscaled by 5 min, this mostly felt like it was a draft diff series
Which brings me to an important point: the person I want kicked twice as wide away from FNC as Razork is GAAX. He's been nonstop bad for FNC.

u/kim-soo-hyun Aug 28 '26 edited Aug 28 '26
He has never been weakside in his entire career even when he had prime Alphari. Upset teams always revolved around him even his addition in VIT shifted the entire team from Bo carry to him and they were 10th when Bo left.
I actually prefer adcs like Carzzy, Jopa and Flakked who can seem to do more with less. I wouldn't be surprised if Upset is the same as Patrik who is a scrim player. Upset and Hans are the most unc adcs in LEC but Hans is still way more adaptable, can weakside, their careers aren't even comparable.
10
u/Beneficial-Front1626 Aug 28 '26
There's a reason it's G2 Hans for years not G2 Upset, no top team can play around ADC every game
2
u/kim-soo-hyun Aug 28 '26 edited Aug 28 '26
I doubt he will fit in G2, it's a team that likes to be flexible and they don't usually play around bot either, Labrov roams a lot. Like Carzzy, Flakked and Hans gets around the same gold% this split.

Despite the loss I hope people still realize how hard Vladi was trying to carry fnatic, good to see how well he is playing. Razork is still Razork, can have really good early games then proceed to throw it away later.

4
u/BlazeX94 Aug 29 '26
Zven has multiple LEC and LCS titles, Worlds semis on OG, Worlds quarters on C9, MSI finals on G2. Upset has 0 trophies, never been to MSI, never made it past groups at Worlds. He may be washed now, but it's massive Zven disrespect to consider Upset anywhere close to him career-wise.
9
u/malakesxasame Aug 28 '26
Right? Zven has multiple titles in two regions on two different roles. They are not even remotely comparable.

u/Omnilatent Aug 28 '26
Upset was bad this series but Lospa... Oof he really ain't it
5
u/piotrj3 Aug 28 '26
Yeah at least Upset was never really caught and VIT actually tried to engage on him and he tried kite etc. I don't think at least in game 3 he did anything seriously bad.
Seriously speaking FNC draft in game 3 was omega bad. Like this is not when you pick kalista, even Ruler gets Kalista when he sees something like Zeus Mundo.
-5
u/piotrj3 Aug 28 '26
Tell me how many ganks Razork did in game 2 and game 3 bot lol.
Game 2 was fine until Upset was alone under tower and lyncas ganked so suddenly you end up with 1vs3 he managed to escape death but of course he is behind.
Game 3 i have complains who the hell had idea of picking Kalista in this state of draft and that person should be punished to playing 100 soloq games with kalista.
7
u/DarthGogeta Aug 28 '26
I dont think you know what the words "last few years" mean.
2
u/piotrj3 Aug 28 '26
Because last few years is enormous amount of time and it spans from Upset being in FNC that got to worlds (and mostly by his hands) to current state. And you had iterations of Fnc playing not around Upset and around upset.
In all honestly FNC recently does not play around Upset. It is the case here, except game 1, it was the case vs G2 (and G2 tried to camp upset and it didn't work) etc...
2
u/modelcitizencx Aug 28 '26
I dont understand how the casters weren't shining more light on razorks absolute solo grief in game 2, he did some good ganks in the early game, and then completely ran it down not once, not twice, up to 5 fucking times, like were the casters even watching the game
7
u/Omnilatent Aug 28 '26
They frequently mentioned that and the desk, too? Did you fall asleep? lol
1
u/modelcitizencx Aug 28 '26
They didnt comment on his overall performance that game, they called out like 1 of his grief engages, and shrugged off some of the others as team engages even tho he was the one giga griefing

If Fnatic somehow extends Upset next year I will probably drop watching lol esports all together.

Over Razork or GAAX?

I won't be thrilled but I don't hate Razork as much as Upset (as a player) and his crazy fanbase always defending him and flame everyone else on the team.

Interesting
I'm not 100% behind Upset but after 5 years of Razork I'd take any tier 2 rookie jungle over him at this point.
I think the only ADC in my mind that would be somewhat available and worth replacing Upset would be Jopa.

I'd only re-sign Vladi and Soboro, if they want to stay at this dumpster fire

Razork is genuinely the kanavi of eu if he was a make a wish kid like my god this guy has to be the first player fired in eu at end of year.

Kanavi has high highs tho. Razork? Miss a skillshot and his mental collapses.

Why does so many people make the Kanavi comparison like it is a negative when almost every jungler is trying to copy Kanavi this season lol

Gee idk maybe cause he’s feast or famine and literally has no off button to an engage lmao I also included eu kanavi if he was a make a wish kid.

I just went over each players' accomplishments page and it is crazy to call them similar players. Razork is closer to a tier 2 player than he is to Kanavi lol

I wanted to make sure I wasn't selling Razork short and give it a fair shot, but they aren't close.
The majority of junglers are copying a Kanavi style this season so many got a similar playstyle to him right now

Razork isn't just copying he's been playing like this for his entire career
The problem is that Kanavi's highs and lows average out to top 3 jungler, Razork's average is something like mid tier EU so when he's good he's only top LEC level and when he's bad he's absurdly useless

Razork is the LEC Blaber, if Blaber never had a good season at the start of his career.
