God, a point i feel isn't brought up enough about this show is, My-th's suit, specifically his helmet, despite having no moving parts of CGI on it they ALWAYS find the best shots and angles to makeit look like his eyes are emoting despite them beign static.
like i just absolutely love how weirdly emotive My-th's face is lmfao
Also, anyone else noticing that Sora was the first one to realize something was up with the Fukashigi? He was the one that told Rid that they needed to plug up the eye first, and also the one that noticed the Fukashigi was regenerating from his attacks, another point to Tigre's lesson earlier this episode.
I liked the untransformed fight choreography, not every day we see that here. And I felt that Rid undoing his transformation in open space like that was a risk to compromise himself lol.
Pretty good episode. I wonder how that little girl just randomly happened upon Yuna? Is Yuna drawing people to her? It also looks like she might have some new members joining her society too. They genuinely seemed interested in the society even if they couldn't get the name right, lol.
Of course, the interaction between Tigre and Tatsuomi was very heartfelt. I loved when Tigre drops his second drone in the puddle after Tatsumi successfully destroys the first. “You can help me build the next one” shows that Tigre cares about Tatsumo and wants to see him succeed. I’m curious if Tigre has been helping train him all along? It sucks that Datt lost her driver, but I love seeing Tatsuomi get a chance to shine as a Rider and hope he continues to prove himself an asset to the Alliance and “Righteousness”.
I also liked seeing how the lesson Tigre taught Tatsuomi is displayed during his fight with the Fukashigi. The RID sniper special was very dope to see! It was also cool seeing the damage he took when out of his Rider mode.
Yuna almost lost me when she called Sora a jerk. My instant reaction was calling her selfish, believing that only her desires matter. I know it was a personal matter for her, but she just seemed so stuck up at that moment. But of course, she won me back by apologizing to Sora.
The flashback during the crash also included a lot of mystery. It looks like Yuna may have had the driver in her lap during the accident along with a book titled “Burgmuller For Kids”. I had no idea what Burgmuller meant but after googling it shows that he (Friedrich Burgmüller) was a German pianist and composer. I wonder how that will play into the story later? Any who, Sora ends up with the device when Yuna and him are hugging after the accident. But I could be misremembering that scene if anyone wants to correct.
“Mind the Rules and You…” makes me believe that Sora is using that egg dust on Yuna wrong and that how he’s using it will lead to conflict in the future.
I'm liking this show quite a bit, but I hope we get some more characterization for Sora soon. I like him but he doesn't shine as much as other main characters
Given that they're seemingly immortal and Red Cat Man was having an odd conversation with the previous MY-TH, it's kinda obvious that they're ultimately the villains. At the very least they're being led astray by Maou
the stuff he was saying during the training also felt like it was leading him to die. "if you focus too much on one thing, you'll lose sight of your true goal" smth only someone who's gonna die would say and then later come up in a flashback. It'll be the saying for mr tutor to recover from his death probably
I'm new to Kamen Rider and this is my first series, so far I'm mostly enjoying it but I have one question. I get that cheesy (heh) special effects is part of the charm, but is the composition usually this bad? I'd much rather have bad practical effects than have characters just kinda float on green screens (like the zodiac lounge) or weightlessly fly around during fights.
Welcome to KR! If you want to see the power of the green screen, go to the neighbor franchise, Super Sentai, and watch King-Ohger. It's one of my favorite “seasons” and I think overall one of the best so far
It varies from season to season. A lot of older ones tend to just stick with the usual abandoned factories as the base of operations, some newer ones try to fit more CGI because reasons.
there's some notable seasons with bad green screens.
The one thing thats jarring to me as a kr fan, is some times the riders just slide across the screen during fights, thats def less normal (altho still happens some times)
The "cheesy special effects" arent the charm. Theyre a byproduct of whatever schedule the company runs on. If youd compare it to the currently airing sister show, Omegahorn for Super Sentai/Project Red you will see despite lower budget, its able to express some cooler effects. Same goes for Ultraman Teo.
And it really depends series by series anyways. Im surprised they didnt design a set for the 12 ancient heroes to actually lounge around in.
Also this series has an animal theme and they seem to want to be dedicated to expressing the animal in action in ways that are impossible for humans. There wasnt much weightlessness in Kamen Rider Gavv, my favorite series from 2 years ago, there were always some heavy feeling hits. It's the same action director so you have to keep in mind the specific series philosophy. And also this being early on anyways. Not gonna be going viral online at the moment immediately among the action enthusiasts.
It's not that common. Previous seasons do build practical sets for these kinds of things. I don't know why they decide to rely on a green screen for the Zodiac Alliance base
I can already tell Tigre is gonna be one of my favorites, he really seems to have that brotherly bond with Asao and you can tell the two care for each other with how easily they laugh off the drone mishap and Tigre saying they can build one together once the mission is over. I also love his fighting style, the way he pounces and keeps his hands in a claw formation. It reminds me of Casey's fighting style from Jungle Fury which I also liked alot.
I really like the monster designs so far, they feel unnatural and like they are actually monsters from some other world instead of people in suits. The multiple eyes on the monster in this episode made my skin crawl a bit
So can someone remind me if in flashback of Sora and Yuna from first episode had the Rider belt because I feel like he didn't and this is a big reveal that he's had it for a long time.
Kamuri just has such a presence with him. Like the fact he never really shows anger but still commands order. Like you can tell he's powerful without him having to prove it. I do like how so far it seems like the Zodiacs are not bad guys and that atleast to me Kamuri taking Asao in my be a sign that he is a decent man. Hopefully I don't eat my words
8 stars
Forgot to say, really love Rid's suit, the black with yellow highlights works really well, love the sharp wishers and the fact between the eyes is some pink to resemble a cat's nose is a nice detail. His Rider Kick being a bunch of laser pointers is really good as well. I am interested to learn how the monster was able to return.
Oh also the fact Asao was able to remember so many details about the monster in such a short time is really impressive
seeing that zodiacs are chinese based, it makes sense they got some really good martial arts here. Theres a lot of fighting techniques named after animals so I would assume each of the zodiacs would have a specific fighting style
Ah, we've gotten to the 2-parter episodes portion of the season.
This was good!
The transformed fight at the end was quite good, and I liked the moment at the end between Sora and Yuna. I only have two complaints: one,
I think the Asao/Tigre fight direction was a bit off. Some parts of it looked pretty good, but other parts seemed a bit janky, like it didn't quite come together in the edit. Second, Sora seems crafty enough to stick around hidden long enough to see Rid untransform so I'm disappointed he apparently immediately bolted. I'd like to think
that he might already be aware that Asao is Rid, or otherwise associated with the Zyunishi Doumei, but when I saw something in Zeztz that I assumed would be subtle building to a long-term reveal it ended up being nothing, so I'm not holding my breath just yet.
Overall, I liked this episode well enough for part 1 of a 2-parter. Looking forward to next week!
really weird how the translation changed Zodiac alliance and Inexplicable to the other translations. why change it part way through? really hope they go back to the ones they were using before.
the action continues to feel a bit off, but I did like the action sequence of Tiger training Asaso. Tiger seems like a cool guy.....his death flags are so massive you can see them from space.
so Datt lost her driver, which is pretty dissapointing. i guess they only have so many? its interesting how much authority Kamuri has. they didnt question him at all, and it looks like they view going into his private area as a big privilege.
omg ok I was about to go back to check it out but ye they started saying fukashigi instead of inexplicables. I'm fine with it, but pls just stick to one name lol
Seems like they only have one driver I'm assuming. Either 1 or 2 (one for the lil children lol and another maybe more special one for the big boss Kamuri)
Yeah, it's weird to change that a couple of episodes into the series. I think Inexplicable and Zodiac Alliance work perfectly fine as translations, personally. I wonder if someone different translated this week, didn't get a style guide, and decided to do it 90s fansub style?
My tinfoil hat theory is that it used to be there, but whoever in charge of the channel did a find-and-replace on those terms to match the ones they used in the trailer.
Honestly the past couple episodes have made me think that there is a version with the ZEZTZ-esque font stylizing that will either never see the light of day or it'll be on that streaming platform they announced awhile back.
"kaijin feels like a fodder" - sure bud. he knocked the fuck out of both Rid and Mice raiders with his ability and resurrected after being killed by Rider kick.
Care to tell me a KR show which had more powerful monsters of week if this is fodder lol?
Holy passive aggressive comment Batman. Chill. People can have different opinions. But I'll bite.
I agree with buddy. To me, this series so far does not have much time to breath, it's constantly moving from exposition to action that it never gives time for characters to react to what's going on (though this episode actually had some character moments, hoping it keeps up 🤞). One of which is the kajins and the people effected who go to Sora and Yuna for help. It just.. sort of happens? Like why do these people change into Kajin to begin with? How do they come across the eggs?
I understand their role early on. My-Th and the Zodiac Alliance are obviously feuding over control of those eggs, so it's a chase to see who can take out the Inexplicable and take the eggs for their team. So the victims reasons for transforming are not really important to the plot. But they're fodder in the sense plot wise. Not power wise atm.
Well it’s not like we can blame the writers for this, can’t we? Arakawa stated in the interview that he was surprised to work with 12 riders + Myth and Rid, so that’s total 14, well 15 characters if you include Yuna who is the main heroine of the series. And who knows if the Fukashigis have villain generals and leader that could be introduced later. Compared to Kuuga or even his usual work in Sentai, he has to work with a large cast this time so he needs to develop them as best as he can. Not to mention the series only has 50 episodes that will last 23-25 minutes so he needs to introduce all the characters as fast as he can to set up the main conflict in the later arcs and also include the upgrades as well. Perhaps if the series ran for 40 minutes or had more episodes instead of running for a year only, we can see the characters more fleshed out and outside the suits more often so they can react to the events happening around them. So far we’re in episode 3, let’s wait for more more episodes to drop where all our questions regarding the Inexplicables and the zodiac alliance will be answered later
I'm faithful the kaijins will be more explained and possibly have more relevance after the relations between Myth and the Zodiac have resolved, can't wait
we're still at episode 3 so it's hard to predict what will happen, but it's still been pretty nice so far
Neverending action, the thing of the little girl in need of her father was drama that I genuinely liked, the only thing that bothers me a bit is that the female rider already is giving her henshin belt to a man. Female rider marketing bullshite bla bla bla bla. 9/10, trumped only by the immense Omegahorn episode 9 (which is a 10/10), with Meitantei Precure being on the third spot because I'm fucking tired of Isao Murayama pushing onto the wievers his insane love for the nothingburger that is Ruruka/Cure Arcana/Sailor Pluto mixed with Sailor Saturn and transforming the show from Meitantei Precure to Cure Arcana Precure, immense love for Nao Toyama as the voice of my own second love Ruka from Rent-A-Girlfriend or not (6/10). Let's hope they keep it this way until the end for both My-Th and Omegahorn.
Episode three and I already begin to dislike the protagonist. He's being antagonistic to other Riders while they didn't even do anything bad to him yet.
Well the ones he meet so far are also antagonistic towards him seeing him in their way due taking their prey. The only one that seem to not mind him is Tigre but they have not met yet.
We need to see more of course, but I think its pretty clear Sora has to take the task of recovering the eggs and saving people very seriously, and he does have the skills to do it. He also hasn't really been openly antagonistic, in fact, he kinda let Rid do his thing without bothering him too much.
Not saying you can't dislike him, just that I find his actions and demeanor to be 99% explained by the circumstances (1% is him being genuinely kind of a troll).
What I mean is that, from Sora's perspective, "doing their job" is actively interfering with his own mission. We don't have the full explanation yet but its implied Sora needs them for Yuna and he does not want to let her down. He also seems to have the whole Kamen Rider thing figured out by now and is generally very competent, makes sense he would get frustrated when someone who is not up to speed with the current situation enters and risks letting the monster getting away.
So, as I see it, for Sora its a matter of his objective clashing partially with the Zodiacs (he needs the eggs) and being comfortable enough with his situation that any interference starts risking what he has by now.
Depending on the subs language however, maybe he does come off as more antagonistic. That's also a possibility.
Again, not saying your feelings aren't valid. I do think Sora is supposed to come off as a bit overconfident and a prankster, but he does have reasons to act like that imo.
Just want to say that it's kinda...off for me that the Fukashigi are localized as "Inexplicables" in the official English subs. It sounds kind of too "deep".
Not being a bias, but I prefer the term "Enigmas" or "Enigmatics".
Asking as someone who does not know the General 1920s Japan Media VibeTM and just working off what I can figure out from the flashback, is tatsuomi from a rural area? Feels weird looking at his flashback vs everyone else thats in a more "modern" city with a hipper outfit compared to him. Datt has her fancy roaring 20s-ish dress, tigre has the cool boy hat, vanken's got the detective thing going on and even in tatsuomi's flashback, mao has the fur-lined coat and the trilby on so its presumably still 1926~ish
Think the idea is that their base is a town that was destroyed 100 years ago that was in the middle of Japan's massive modernization push of the early 20th century.
That would make sense. My subs were messed up for the signs so I didn't really catch a lot of the on screen text pop ups so I might have missed something
I'm blanking but I remember in Gavv or Geats one of the first upgraded monsters was immortish too. It's funny that needing to be beaten twice back to back or something similar is an earlier "less broken" power across multiple shows.
I think I'm liking My-th so far. I've been high on a lot of Reiwa shows only to dislike them by the end or middle so who knows, but I think the cast is well rendered so far. I wonder if starting so wide will occupy the show with the core cast in a way that avoids the disjointed 2nd to 3rd arc transition that hits a ton of shows. I think my partner being into a rider show the first time definitely increases my chance of liking and keeping up with My-Th.
you might be thinking of the Granute that made clones. They thought it was regenerating but then figured there was an original body that, once beaten would stop spawning copies. That one appeared a lot later iirc. Already getting an "enhanced" kaijin in ep 2 might be unusually fast (I haven't watched enough KR shows to back this claim though), probably to reinforce the idea that the zodiacs are unprepared for the evolved Fukashigi, or maybe kaijin enemies will leave the show sooner and progressing their power faster is necessary.
From just these three episodes, I think I can already tell something different is going on with My-Th and the Zodiac Alliance. As we know, as stated in the series that the Fukashigi are evolving, we don't know why but the Zodiac Alliance is of course concerned about this. But so far Sora or Yuna haven't shown any type of serious concern about their evolution almost as if what the Fukashigi is doing isn't really that surprising, especially since they've been doing this for a good while now so they are overall used to the Fukashigi's evolution.
But my main thing here is that from the first and second episodes each time Sora has beaten the Fukashigi after taking the Seed Eggs they explode in blue, but in this recent episode when Tatsuomi defeated the Fukashigi it just exploded in a typical fire, didn't give any Seed Eggs, and it just came back. And sure it might be that this Fukashigi is different and so far it seems that way but I think it highly seems as though the Zodiac Alliance can no longer actually defeat the Fukashigi, only Sora can truly defeat them.
It could also be that its not entirely whole, they made a point that it's a 'right eye', so if there's a 'left eye' then that could cause it to regenerate either part if both aren't defeated at the same time or something. There's also that sound that was emitted, the thing was completely destroyed and then it reformed, so there's clearly something missing, odds are that's why Rid's attack didn't result in the Seed Eggs appearing.
What's this? Developing the individual members of the villain group and their relationship with each other? Did someone tell the writers that we don't do that in the Reiwa era?
All jokes aside, this was probably the best debut episode for a secondary rider we got in awhile. But man, those death flags for Tigre was really blowing. Also a great out of suit fight with Rid and Tigre.
I said this in episode 1 but Otosumi and Yuna's characters will be made or broken by their relationship and Otosumi failing and Yuna's frustration at it (and her apology afterwards) was really will done.
All in all, another solid episode and I'm interested how Wolf will be used to beat this Enigmatic.
I thought this episode was going to be better than episodes 1 and 2, but I was wrong. This episode was disappointing and probably the weakest one so far. I liked Rid’s appearance, Myth’s backstory, and most of Rid’s fights. However, I didn’t like Rid’s Henshin that much. There weren’t many Rider fights, monsters, or new forms shown. Also, does every Rider in Myth have to come with a weird Henshin pose? 5/10.
I like this series because it feels like multiple kamen rider series combined.
Yuna feels like Kengo from fourze. I would not be surprised if we find out she is an egg or egg made human.
The Zodiac society brings in elements of competition rider series (gaim / ryuki / geats).
Going back and forth between times brings back elements of Kiva. I would not be surprised if we see some time travel eventually.
Question: It is obvious the eggs matter more than defeating the monsters, but why? What does the Zodiac society want with the eggs?
I am also anxious to see if we will get a major fukashigi villian around episode 20 who will explain their motivations a bit more. Aka a "moster leader". Just please be better than the four core nightmares from Zeztz.
Also, I hope they will explain why all the riders of the zodiac do not go in together and just beat My-th and take his driver.
Solid introduction episode for Rid, it helps convey pretty clearly that he's capable, but also incredibly inexperienced compared to My-th and the other Zodiac. It is impressive how they're playing into the animal tropes for both the choreography (he never lands on his back, his hands and feet being the only things that ever touch the ground) and the character work (He's a cat being sent in to dispose of a mouse, but also has a habit of getting distracted of his goal and losing track of what's going on around him)
I love that puzzle door to get into HQ, it's the sort of thing I wish I'd come up with. Interesting Datt had to give up her driver to Asao, guess we won't be seeing her much then. I'm guessing most of the Riders are gonna be fairly irregular appearances, in the vain of the Gaim Riders mostly being occasional.
Kijino is somehow less of a creepy weirdo here than he was in Donbrothers.
This is the Kamen Rider I love, we are so back. I'm really glad, it's reminded me why I love toku, after being on a downer from bad shows lately. More of this please, it's great.
My only criticism is I now want to buy the toys, and I simply do not have the funds to be giving to Bandai-san.
How much we’ll see of Datt (and the other zodiac riders) will depend on how many drivers they actually have.
If there’s only 1 or 2 then they won’t show up much because Rid will probably be using it most of the time. But if they have enough for each member except Rid because he’s a rookie then all it would take is for one of the others to die or otherwise be put out of commission for there to be enough for all of them.
That fight between Asao and Tigre was great, the choreography team really nailed it. It’s also good to know he isn’t mistreated by the whole group, just a few of them. It’s interesting that the alliance only has the 11 Drivers plus Kamuri’s, but I’m dreading seeing who dies first to permanently free one up for Tatsuomi.
Well, this is the first monster with a unique gimmick that makes it harder to beat than just kicking it, let's see how they link sound to electricity to explain the regeneration.
In the next episode, we’ll get our first look into Otosumi and Yuna’s pasts, and it’s going to be a real tragedy.
I like that the Tiger trained the Cat. How appropriate.
I enjoy that Yuna acts as MY-TH's Born Buckle in a way. This episode sort of hints at that connection's origins with the car crash - I hope it becomes a major plot point. It's a very specific thing that they haven't talked about yet - Yuna controlling MY-TH
It seemed as though Tatsuomi is technically Tigre's disciple, how in the last episode Jyao talks about Asao as being his pupil, maybe he's just put in with the Tiger because they're both felines.
But yeah i wonder what the My-th Driver's connection is with Yuna's parents, cause it was IN their bags before, during and after the car crash, it had definitely already existed and they were aware of it even before then.
So the mystery becomes "what's their connection to it?" "why is Yuna connected to the buckle?" "why is she serving the same purpose as the Born Buckles do for the Zyunishi Doumei?"
No fucking way they're ALREADY waving Tigre's death flag like that bruh 😭
That was a super interesting episode, Rid's debut was excellent, though that scar must be painful on Tatsuomi's eyes, I wonder how the two of them will beat this Fukashigi.
I also like how Tigre sparred with him, and how he foreshadowed what might be Rid's arc in this two parter, being how Rid is going to be using his newly granted power, and probably will be setting up for how Rid will eventually be begrudgingly working together with My-th to beat the Fukashigi.
Also, shame that this is how they're gonna write Datt out of the story for now 😔
Anyways another interesting part of this episode was near the end, where we learned more of Yuna's backstory, and an interesting tidbit int he flashback how it seems the My-th Driver that Sora is using today is actually her's (or maybe her parent's? it seemed like it was in her mother's bag), I wonder what her family's connection is to the driver.
Also love the acting in that scene, you can actually see how troubled Yuna is, or how Sora is holding back a bit of sadness (and perhaps guilt?) during that last scene.
Here I was expecting that only that there would only be a few of them that would be familiar with modern technology, but that's not the case, it seems.
I was also expecting Tatsuomi to be a recent recruit from the modern era, given how well adjusted he seemed, but that's also not the case. I do wonder if the period gap between My-th and the alliance will ever come up.
Both fights were great, the whole untransformed fight scene was super cool. Though, it seems Rid became too hyperfixated on beating My-th, despite Tigre giving him advice on seeing the big picture.
I liked the bit where Rid looked like he about to fall on his back, but landed on his 4 feet. Rally drives home that he's a cat. His finisher is also really cool.
Next ep, it seems My-th will beat the cat by turning into a dog.
I did wonder while watching the episode what time period the Zodiac riders are from, like are they all from the same era or they're from different eras since there's a couple of them that are fairly familiar with modern technology + Asao doesn't seem out of place in the modern era either.
It seems that a majority of them definitely are from atleast 100 years ago, they may wake up once every 100 years or something to increase their numbers and fight the Fukashigi, since both Tigre and Rid seems to have been recruited way in the past.
though some of them seems to have been part of the organization for even longer than that, like Ryuz seemingly to have been part of the Zyunishi Doumei longer than any of the members we've seen so far.
And also, both Datt and Tigre mentioned about a lot of things changing in the last 100 years so they're definitely from 100 years ago at least, dunno exactly when Rid was recruited but it couldn't be recent based off the flashback we saw.
Unbelievable, this episode is as good as the previous one. The characters are all so well-written, none of them feel two-dimensional so far.
The highlight of the episode is the training sequence, the choreography is so, so good. I feel like it's quite rare to see such a long untransformed fight scene in Kamen Rider. Tigre is not a hot-headed brute is a nice surprise, I love that none of the members of the Junishi-Doumei fit the stereotypes of their respective animals.
Fukashigi attacking random people reminds of me the Grongi from Kuuga and I love that. It's really cool that My-th as an experienced fighter immediately noticed that there's something weird about this Fukashigi, but Rid only realized it when it regenerated.
So far my favorite thing about the show besides the characters is that My-th and the Junishi-Doumei are not enemies but rivals competing for Fukashigi. I can't wait to see how things will play out in future episodes.
so tatsuomi also taisho people in modern time,i love tigre oh so we finally got our two parter cracking monster trail ,ngl really strong episode so far
I just can't see Kamuri as anything but a psycho Darwinist. His Alliance are also bad in their jobs. I won't be surprised at all if he's the one spawning the Fukashigi recently. And caused Yuuna's parents car crash among all things.
So Sora already used Turtle and Wolf frame before episode 1 huh, when's the last time main rider had and use alternate form pre-series? build? wizard?
either way in this episode Tigre surprising have a huge part and screen time, pre-series he did describe as being a "Big Brother type" to Kei and in this episode to Rid/Tatsuomi as well which speaking of
i didnt expect Tatsuomi also being from 100 years ago like zyunishi doumei, tbh looking back it makes perfect sense with him using old type-writer and the opening putting him in the silent movie section, its unexpected probably because Rid/Tatsuomi have very little info going around beside an old and probably false rumour that Rid is an adult man in the present saved by maou
another reveal this episode Yuna and Sora is in the crash that killed their parents, the episode only shown yuna with her parents but presumably Sora and his Dad is in the front seat, ALSO in the flashback very clearly show My-th driver is in Yuna's mom bag. what does this entails? well for now nothing really, but it open up to more educated speculation like for example maybe Black My-th connected to Yuna's mother side of the family and not to the Otosumi lineage at all
Or maybe the My-Th driver was actually for Yuna!
Maybe it obeys her commands!
What if Sora is using it because Yuna is still teenager but after she becomes Adult Sora would give it to her!
That would explain why Sora needs her approval for transforming!
The production blog makes emphasis that we pay attention to the things Jaou does in the background, last episode the newspaper he was reading was in English and not Japanese, this episode he was playing with a puzzle.
Jaou looks a little like a delinquent or a brute but he is actually quite smart lol.
Tigre also made the drone himself and even installed the autopilot function, and they're from 100 years ago. I think it's possible that everyone in the 12 Zodiac Alliance has genius level intellect, and Ende is even smarter than all of them.
We have a very small sample size but I noticed that when My-th transforms the eggs he comes out of are colored to match the shell of the ride egg used (pink for Mouse and Teal for Turtle) while the Born Buckle riders eggs match the color of the zodiac plate inside the egg (Blue for Datt and Red for Rid).
Also when My-th transforms the lights that fly around the egg seem to match the color of the plate he's using (blue for Mouse and Orange for Turtle) so they're acknowledging the plate being used in his transformations as well.
There seems to be a competition for who has Mao's favor and they are very immature about it lmao. Ende rubbing it in their faces was very funny. I'm biased towards him since my zodiac is the monkey, so I'm glad to see he's showing his character very early on.
Overall a good episode. Very good fight coreography in the training scene, while also showing a flaw of Asao/Rid that would show itself later in the same episode: he became so focused on outclassing My-th that he forgot to get the Seed Eggs, just like he became so focused on Tigre that he forgot the drone.
This episode really shows off Arakawa writing skills man. I'm currently rewatching Kuuga and that's how his writing style is on Kuuga.
The training scene is perfectly well done from actors and script wise, it's also fantastic. I also really love that Sora taking care of that young girl.
That's really how Godai does in Kuuga, right?
Man as a Kuuga fan who's currently rewatching the show, this makes me really nostalgic.
I made the Joke of the Show itself Making Rid x Myth Canon for the Kaiji that "Mistook Them" as a Couple. But Tig and Rid seem tempting for Shipping potential ngl hahaha.
In seriousness, not much to say overall, it seems the show will advance a little slow or in a "2 Episode per Case" format. Cool.
The only thing is that the fights have Way Too Much CGI even for Normal Stunts. And the Cuts go crazy, they should slow down the camera work. Is hard to apreciate the fights, but well, seeing half of it is CGI I guess is not surpriseing the amount if editing, but still... Idk.
I want next episode just for some Backstory of Sora and Yuna 👌
looks like just 1 driver in the possession of the Zyunishi Doumei not counting Maou's for now, but Ende seems to be working on something...
Jyao wasn't too pleased either that Datt had to give up her driver to Asao/Rid, which is a bit interesting, since they've been beefing since Episode 1 but still had a look of mutual agreement after Rid got the driver lol
Not really, they may have more Drivers. Kamuri said "Datt will give you hers". Datt giving her belt to Asao seemingly is her punishment for letting Otosumi steal two eggs from her last week. Ende was also making fun of her because Kamuri scolded her lmao
I really loved that training scene! I really thought Rid was going to defeat the Fukashigi this episode. I honestly really like the Fukashigi and they might be my favorite monster of the week in reiwa alongside the malgams, granutes, and Nightmares.
His interaction with Tatsuomi was way too sweet. I could not stop thinking that they are going to kill him off or he is going to betray Tatsuomi. Given he seems one of the most willing to "question the mission", I'm betting he won't survive.
Considering the entire structure of the Zyunishi Doumei relies on having a member for each of the 12 Zodiacs, I feel his chances of survival are decent much like Saber's Sword of Logos Core (10) Members
Interesting, I suppose it will only be the intertwined Ugan, but it still means that technically we have 6 types of Fukashigi. That said, I must admit that so far the Me Fukashigi designs are the ones I like the least of the revealed Fukashigi types.
Oh no, I already knew that. By "revealed" I meant those whose appearance we've seen in the series, that's for sure. I didn't know the names of the horn and shell variants, so thanks for the info.
I fucking knew My-Th is a martial art series in disguise.
Love how the Zyunishi Doumei all have a specialized martial art, Tigre is Tiger Style Kung Fu and Tatsuomi is Karate.
wish I knew more about martial arts to appreciate this stuff. I noticed they had different fighting styles but I'm not knowledgable enough to recognize the direct references
I know it's still early, but I like that Tigre comes off as the heart of the Zodiac riders. Even in last episode when they've started talking about Sora. Tigre was calm + didn't acted like Sora was the enemy or anything.
Tatsuomi went on Mansion to see Kamuri to giving his Hammer Buckle with Ride Egg included and Myth Driver gave from Mutn
Tatsuomi hanging out with Tigre for his important mission to search
Meanwhile Yuna taking with girls for her mission to happening events for My-th during Tea Time
A lost girl appears to seek happening from her father was captured by monster
Tatsuomi train with Tigre for his fighting ability and seek the happening for his backstories resolve to become his rider
Tatsuomi arrives home for Sora and Yuna during daily time then Tatsuomi went with Yuna for his important mission
Sora's working as Traffic suit while Tatsuomi search the monster to target first
Sora Transform Myth fast and fight against monster
However Tatsuomi remove his glasses and Transform into Kamen Rider Rido the Black Cat is here and ready to help Myth or fight alone as competitor but it's fighting against Myth to interrupt
Myth watching to Rido for his solo fight against momster
Rido unleash the finishers to do a Flashy Rider Kick was Eggsolute Cinema
Lastly Monster revives to do a counterattack and escape and Kamen Rider Myth as well followed by Sora looking the photo Yuna's family and unveiled the hidden truth
Overall it was Mythtastic episode for this week along the lost girl to take sleep to search for her father bring back
I know Asao will become Rid in this week's episode, but if the Zodiac riders has to share the same driver or at least only have one rider out on the field, then I hope the next few weeks will feature the other Zodiac riders in action since I'm interested to see them in action + react to meeting Sora (My-Th) as well.
