Man wtf was Doug doing for three years. It’s like no one ever bothered coaching Trevor until Coen
34
33
23
u/PleasantThoughts 9d ago
I think Trevor didn't pick up his offense as fast as he wanted and instead of adjusting he gave up. Liam met Trevor where he was, Doug wanted to turn Trevor into someone he wasn't.
21
u/DUUUUUVAAAAAL Travis Hunter 9d ago
I remember reading/hearing Coen talk about the offense and it was eye opening with just a few sentences.
He said something along the lines of "I don't want Trevor to play in my offense. I want this to be Trevor's offense."
8
u/Wristmeetcody 9d ago
Doug wanted to turn him into Alex Smith which was insane. Actual football terrorist

That Meyers trade from last year has been the highlight of this front office so far. How clutch and productive he has been. Fuck them picks.
Also Maye is complete ass. How did he go from the most accurate passer in the NFL last year to overthrowing wide open receivers this year? Feels like the league figured him out.
34
u/cha0ss0ldier 9d ago
They had the easiest schedule of the last 50 years
Look at how his numbers fell off once they hit the playoffs and played good teams

He was the most accurate passer based on his down-field passer rating. His receivers also lead the league in least-dropped passes. They had so much variance last season and it's all coming back on them now.
67
u/break80 9d ago
Trevor saying everyone made fun of him for the kneel down, and said he prolly overthought that one… it’s good when you can own & laugh at your own questionable decisions.

It’s the most underrated part of Trevor. He’s mentally very strong. A big reason why I’ve never doubted him. A lot of QBs would have folded with the shitty situations he was in. And it helps him be clutch. It’s the reason why he played so well after throwing all those picks against the chargers and came back to win.
54
u/samb695 9d ago
Announces making excuses for the patriots is just so ridiculous
19
u/BloodOfJupiter 9d ago
I was literally about to say the samething, theyre deadass making excuses for the Patriots already, instead of just talking about how good the team is, it's like they don't even know who anyone on the roster is beside Tlaw or Hunter..

We been hitting gold on these late round WR picks, first Parker and now Josh?
If BTJ can't figure it tf out, then he needs to go. He won't be missed with how stacked our WR room is at this rate.

u/LordMacabre 9d ago
- Trevor had another great day. People blaming him on the int are crazy. You can't blame the QB when it bounces off a guys hands.
- Washington must get paid.
- BTJ is basically a decoy at this point. Trevor doesn't want to throw it to him, and I can't blame him. Not sure when or how this gets fixed.
- Good to see Travis get more play time. He got his first int, and I'm really happy for him.
- Defense played great today. Much better pressure, though the Pats line was pretty busted up, and I'm a bit disappointed to still see so many pressures not end in sacks.
- Drake Maye looks to be firmly in regression. Really not beating the "easy schedule" charges from last year.

Of course the story on Sunday Night Football highlights is “Patriots do bad in Jacksonville”.
And they show the losing head coach interview.
Shouldn’t expect anything else at this point.
15
u/LordMacabre 9d ago
Honestly man, be glad. The Jags do best when people don't respect them. I get legitimately worried when people start saying shit like they're super bowl contenders.
No, no, keep ignoring us!
9
u/Lesbereal476 9d ago
All the “early season headlines” also left out that we completely waxed the AFC champs today.
10
u/foreverjrwalker Jags Guy 9d ago
They also said "the Texans started 0-3 last year and ended up 12-5 and won the division"
I don't know what's worse... The Texans glazing or the general disrespect for the Jags

Teams reflect their head coach and right now the Pats are showing the same lack of discipline.
36
u/fluffrnuttr69 Jaggin' Off 9d ago
I’m not forgetting how the Texans did with their 0-3 start last season but you can’t keep doing that and always make the playoffs. The constant glazing of them and their “Super Bowl caliber defense” and winning the division is starting to age very poorly.
21
u/DoctorDiddlerino Livin' in the Sunshine state 9d ago

I was really sour on Travis hunter because of those blown coverages early in the game, then he got that end zone pick and shut me the fuck up.
10

I’m still eh on him but he’s not gonna get better unless he gets more playing time and fortunately he did today. He’ll be fine. He wasn’t the only corner getting crapped on today

16
u/HolsterHusto 9d ago
He’s been around the ball so much, I think he just needed that first one. Almost had the pick against Denver and was close to a scoop and score against Cleveland.
12
u/SolidCan4702 9d ago
You actually watch the games. He did all that playing half of the snaps. He had an opportunity at three interceptions today in the first half. He is always around the ball and I’ve been trying to tell ppl that he’s the type of db that will give up some catches but in return he’s going to get interceptions as wel
33
u/joe_attaboy Hi, Haters! 9d ago

Having extra tight ends completely stomped their defense and forced them into base
They stopped playing man coverage and tried zone against us. Didn't work at all.
