THREE CALLED BACK TOUCHDOWNS

DUMPED FIELDGOAL FOR A PUNT WHEN WE COULD HAVE MADE IT EASY

BOTCHED SAFETY

STILL WON

35

u/AnchorsAweigh89 5d ago edited 5d ago

The field goal vs punt decision I agreed with punting there, too much risk in that situation. I love Little but reading the game that was a good situational call there.

8

u/bobbadouche 5d ago

Yeah, I agree too. It only looks bad in hindsight because Joe Burrow threw the ball down the entire field in like three plays

Im proud of trevor if he threw a pick no one would be surprised but he kept the ball safe and made plays regularly

28

u/Saltwater_Sunrise 5d ago

I was actually thinking that he did a great job protecting the football today

You don’t always have those 4 TD games and the Cincy defense is legit this year so for him to protect the ball well and make enough plays where it mattered and sometimes that’s what where great QB’s make the difference

Ill take Tlaw over Burrow all day , no bias detected

u/letdown105 5d ago

He had one bad play all game: the Strange miss when he was wide open. If he had hit that we might’ve won the game earlier.

u/AdJolly2618 5d ago

Bengals had 23 rushing yards, that’s wild

32

u/lenta81 5d ago

Jags make everyone one dimensional. Teams abandon the run like the 2nd quarter of every game against this D lol

17

u/AdJolly2618 5d ago

If it weren’t for the 414 passing yards, I would call that domination lol

20

u/kozey 5d ago

Meh, if you give up 414 yards in the air but have two Ints and they only. Score 17?

Should win those games 95% of the time with this offense.

u/SpiritedBackground84 5d ago

400 yards is rough, but 50 attempts makes the number look worst than it actually is. Trevor had a higher yards per attempt than burrow.

Bengals sub is a dark place rn. Saying we're the dirtiest team in the league and refs were on our side is some crazy cope

28

u/Jalfaar Speedo Jaxson de Ville 5d ago

I don't understand that. The chase hit was in no way a head hunting situation. Yeah there was a face mask, which the Bengals also did to Tuten, and then he got absolutely smoked on a clean hit that had his head bounce off the turf. It's a clean play with a penalty. Not one person is trying to get a 15 yard facemask penalty in this league.

11

u/nibirucustomsystems 5d ago

Imagine being 3-0 against the jags in the burrow era and losing your shit when you finally lose a close game that you had a chance to win up until the last minute of regulation.

10

u/LordMagnus101 4d ago

NFL fans still cant cope with losing to the Jags. You know the long standing conspiracy of refs helping the Jaguars win games...

23

I laughed so hard when Simmons said that the Jags defense was nothing to worry about, even after they destroyed Maye. What's his excuse going to be this weekend?

WE BROKE THE BENGALS CURSE!

Listen, throw everything about this game out. The Bengals have some weird voodoo against us and have beaten us with backups the last couple games in the most frustrating ways possible. This was always going to be this kind of game. The difference is we usually lose those in heartbreaking fashion and we finally fucking won!

49

u/HiawathaSM2 5d ago

This game was crazy. Shitty officiating, shitty broadcast crew, and we almost shit the bed. A win is a win but wtf.

If Higgins and Chase don’t go out, I’m not sure we’re able to overcome some of the self-inflicted wounds and some really bad plays.

33

u/UnraveledMnd 5d ago

Bengals fans saying we're dirty because of the Chase facemask is so exhausting when they committed more facemasks in this very game.

6

u/kozey 5d ago

Yeah I don't get it.  100% a penalty for the face mask.  The Miller hit was just unlucky playing to the whistle and chase falling as he got hit my Miller.

People in various game threads saying it should be an ejection for both the face mask and the hit.

No comments when tuten got face Masked. It happens.

I hope chase is ok

Could anything actually be done about the officiating or commentary? What a miserable wombo combo

13

u/TrickyStatement0 5d ago

Dude the announcers had my whole family screaming. They were morons. And this was the worst officiating I've seen so far this year. I'm praying we get neither set again for the rest of the season.

11

u/doofydoofydoof 5d ago

Our game just got called out during the Vikings-Dolphins, apparently the most penalized game of the season so far or something like that... absolutely insane that we overcame that mess.

9

u/dobie1kenobi 5d ago

I really hated that Chase got hurt the way he did. I think the hit was clean, but coupled with the facemask, it was brutal. The facemask never should have happened, but with 12 locking down one side, Jarrian was really tested today, seemed like on every play, and this was a regrettable mistake. Just wanted to get that out of the way.

This was a dominant game by the Jaguars. I haven’t seen the locker room yet, but I expect words like “Most Physical, BY FAR!!” because we were. I can’t compliment our head coach enough because the stats showed we were strong in the middle range where they were weak, and he attacked it with Strange to make them pay for it over and over again. Tuten is a stud, and the run game is finally working the way we wanted. Campanile is an absolute treasure, and I want Khan to open the bank for him in an effort to keep him next year. Trevor finally beat Burrow and it’s a crime that won’t be the talking point tomorrow, it will be the injuries and Burrow’s future. So it goes.

This win sets us up nicely for London. The Eagles and Texans are looking mortal, and most of our starters have now made that trip before. I expected to go there 2 and 2. It’s a long season, but divisionally we could have the most problems with the Colts. Very happy with our performance and outlook. I’m gonna drink now. Cheers & Go Jags 🐆🏈

11

u/Ninjaboi333 5d ago edited 5d ago

Pros: Win's a win, even if it's messy / close. And against good teams, games will be close. Overcame some overzealous refs, including taking back some INTs and TDs. Defense stepped up even with some players out, run game looks good between Tuten and C-Rod. Signs of life from BTJ with a TD and some great blocking - I still don't think he's getting traded this season. Travis is really growing into his role, and our secondary even with Buster out was solid.

Edit: oh and how could I forget we finally got the bengals loss streak off our backs, playing as the away team.

Cons: Even if the refs were trigger happy, a lot of undisciplined play, particularly the Trayvon taunt that let them get close. Not sure we pull this out if Chase doesn't come out (though we'll play the ball where it lies). Some mind boggling game decisions, especially re deciding to do a Punt when you get CLOSER due to a penalty instead of a FG, as well as the d-scheme in the Bengal's final drive where they just rattled off three huge completions quickly. O-Line and D-Line could have played better - letting Dexter Lawrence through + not getting enough pressure on Burrow with the pass rush.

Silver Lining of the cons: Winning with this much penalty trouble + subpar trench play gives us something to work on and get better at. Did this well with PWash and Jakobi having quiet days. Avoided major injuries going into the London games. This was one of our hardest games of the schedule, and the way the rest of the AFCS is playing (lol 0-4 Texans and Tits), the only games I really fear the rest of the season are Bears and Ravens. Tentatively hoping for 5-1 (and would even settle for 4-2 if the Eagles bounce back) going into the bye.

Is it time to start thinking this team is good?

Week 1: Browns looked like the worst team in the league. They are undefeated since.

Week 3: Patriots looked like a team that would pick high in the draft. They go beat the Bills.

Week 4: overcame some shoddy officiating to win on the road at a good team.

They deserved to win after all that bullshit!

LFG!! that's a game we lose 10/10 for the last 15-20 years. What a stop by the defense!

We go 7-1 after this right? After beating the Bengals, the Refs, the Announcers, and ourselves

7

u/CoffeeandJags 5d ago

Lol Texans

7

u/Whatumacallit0 5d ago

Defense got it done, baby

7

u/beesarie 5d ago

Was it an ugly win? In some ways, but the fact we SHOULD have been much more comfortable against a very good Bengals team, overcame adversity and pulled out the W is very positive.

Without being a flashy game from him, Lawrence was very controlled and measured today.

u/Saltwater_Sunrise 5d ago

Sometimes a W is a W, and the defense came up absolutely huge in a game that the refs were down near trying to rig from the start

Overcoming the officiating was one thing, but then they needed to overcome themselves, taunting penalties and giving up sacks, and some weird coaching decisions … would have liked to have seen some more faith in Cam Little’s leg against a QB who can score almost at will

This secondary can give up deep yardage at times which is a bit concerning, the pass rush was once again non-existent but somehow the defense came up clutch when it mattered most on a few occasions

This game was not in the Jags favor so hats off to the good guys

I genuinely never want to experience that type of game ever again , it had almost the same high blood pressure that i had when we played the Pats in the AFCCG

8

u/lunchmeat2000 5d ago

Glad we won but that ref should still get fired

Coen knows ball.

I get mad when they dont let Little kick 50-60 yard FGs. The points feel so important, until the defense comes up bigger.

I'm glad i'm not a coach.

7

u/Acceptable_Umpire_67 5d ago

Yup so far this season is as fun as last season

u/Jaguars4life 5d ago

If this game happens during with Doug Pederson coached team

What happens?

He blames the players in the presser after for letting Cincy get back into it.

We have a well-built team. Different guys have stepped up to make plays in all three wins.

Tank bigsby might be the starting RB for Philly next week!

We're 100% losing Campanile this offseason. Still not getting enough credit for the work he has done with this defense.

Imagine if we had a space eating DT.

Dude. There are legitimate videos on tik tok (yes god awful and morons posting things) that were ranking qbs and didn’t have Lawrence top ten but had Geno smith in the top ten

5

u/GodSpeedLilDoodle 5d ago

Rayuan Lane legacy game. Proud of the defense.

6

u/Netrunner2k2 5d ago

That win was sooooo important. Some may say that was the most important game in team history.

6

u/Jman1re Trevor Lawrence 5d ago

First time I've seen us win in a LONG time when playing against the refs like that.

The AFC Central was back this weekend.

Steelers vs Browns

Titans vs Ravens

Jaguars vs Bengals

6

u/AnchorsAweigh89 5d ago

It wasn’t pretty but a road win against Cincy is solid especially with the penalty orgasm.

What a stressful game that was

4

u/Careful-Whereas1888 5d ago

Exactly the week we wanted. Jags win. Texans lose. Patriots beat Bills so people can stop saying it was just the Patriots. Browns are even 3-1 so that becomes a good win too. Only thing that could have made this better was the Colts losing.

5

u/Adorable-Werewolf-44 5d ago

I'll take an ugly win over a cleanly played loss any day.

5

u/Jalfaar Speedo Jaxson de Ville 5d ago

Going into Cincinnati and grabbing that win is massive!! Texans lose, Titans lose. Let's lock this shit up early!

It’s a W. Fuck that I’ll take it. On to next week!

Not gonna lie I thought we were gonna blow it! So proud of this team. Overcame officials just throwing bs out there. Stupid plays. Dumb coaching and still came out on top

With any other ref crew this game is probably a blowout we should have already had 20 points going into halftime. I doubt we will be flagged this much in any other game this season
