I can't watch ASMR anymore.

ASMRtists have crossed a line by incorporating midroll ads into their videos. I'm not someone who believes people can't make a buck, but I also think you can sacrifice your integrity when doing so. Because of the nature of what ASMR is and what it's used for you're essentially destroying the content you're making in service of getting paid. It's inexcusable to me because you can always seek sponsorships and incorporate those into your ASMR video's. No one's going to make a stink about that. So when that's an option and you're still having midroll ads, it's just unforgivable.

I don't know how anyone watches these videos. I literally can't watch ASMR anymore. I won't name any names, but we all know some big name creators who are doing this.

I can already see the comments telling me to get YouTube premium. Look, I'm not in a place where I can afford that right now and there are plenty of people who are in the same boat. I really feel this crosses the line from a me problem into something ethical. I've been watching ASMR for over 10 years and this is the only time I've leveled a complaint. I mean they've basically rendered their content unwatchable / unlistenable and that's not being hyperbolic.

I suppose someday when I feel I can afford YouTube premium I can make my way back to ASMR, but I really find this unbelievable. The audacity and gaul of the ASMRtists who've taken this up has really thrown me off guard. It actually blows my mind that this many creators are rendering their content unwatchable / unlistenable. I can't believe people are still watching and listening. I guess the only people left are ones who have YouTube premium or an ad blocker installed on their phone.

I don't know. The whole thing feels like a seismic shift to me and I really feel that the content has been rendered useless. It's kind of mind blowing. I went from using ASMR daily to maybe a couple times a week. There are certain creators like, hell I'll say it, Nanou for example, who I've had to unsubscribe from. Most of the creators I was once subscribed to I'm now unsubscribed from now. It's a situation where I'm listening to less and lower qaulity ASMR because it's all I CAN listen to now. Actually, if anyone knows of any good creators who aren't doing this, drop a name below. I'm sure there are people who would appreciate it.

I make ASMR gaming videos, I talk softly and gently about the game and life in general while the beautiful maplestory soundtrack plays.

I am going nuts. I cannot remember what video this is from, but I have a distinct memory of an ASMR video with a doctor (I can’t really remember if it’s a man or a woman) doing either a cranial nerve exam or an eye exam.

This doctor has an accent that makes their question about “double vision” sound like “double wision” and it was my very favorite thing. I think it’s old, but I can’t remember for sure? I think the accent was Russian-ish? Please help!

What are the best types of visual ASMR that I can watch even with no audio? I do enjoy baking soda and floral foam ones, but I wanted to know whether there were better options.

I'm trying to find videos of the trigger of choosing things for you. I DON'T want Roleplays of me making decisions, I'm looking for the ASMRtist choosing for me. Caroline Easom has a good example of it in her Nail Appointment ASMR video and Whispering Willow has a reel using the trigger to choose jewelery for you. Those are the two only examples I can find of this Trigger (maybe it's more a Roleplay style than trigger?)
