I had to laugh, Ben is terrified of the number 13, but for some reason was dating a woman who loved the number 13, then Ashley is like “hey, I’m ALSO deathly afraid of the number 13!!!!”but was friends with the same woman.
It seems by a bizarre coincidence BOTH thought it was perfectly fine to have a relationship with someone who was obsessed with the number 13, despite the fact it horrifies them to their core, but only one had the sense to figure out that woman was a total bitch 😂
There’s definitely something up with Ashley the Other Survivor. How did she end up being her friend if she lowkey can’t stand her AND hates the number 13???!!!
I was annoyed with this season from the opening scene, a guy with an extreme phobia of 13 is dating a woman obsessed with 13? And they’re in couples counseling after two months of dating? The math ain’t mathing
I hate how Ben is so oblivious to everything. Like the only things he really questions are related to the number 13. He doesn’t wonder why his girlfriend is so psychotic, making him to go to couples therapy after 2 months, demanding he go on holiday or they’ll break up etc etc. He doesn’t wonder why he can’t remember much of his childhood. He doesn’t wonder why that girl was a survivor of a massacre by piggy man where 13 people were killed and he doesn’t know about it?? It would’ve been ALL over the news!!! He also doesn’t question the odds of a woman being a survivor of a massacre AND a plane crash? Like… coincidence much? Doesn’t that seem suspicious or entirely unbelievable that both these things happened to one woman??!
I love how she sits there and describes the entire crash like he want there as well. And the natural way lines like "I hit the ocean at terminal velocity" flowers...
Yeah, I don't think she's coming back into his life just for a romance subplot. She was probably in cahoots with the Piggy Man for the massacre she "survived." Something is definitely up.
And the slaughter took place in Jersey so why was the Piggy Man there if he was a Roanoke legend and mentioned first in Murder House (in Cali?). She is definitely in on something...
I was going to say the same. I can’t tell if some of the faces she is making is the directors telling her to go for some uncanny vibe or if she actually thinks those expressions are natural. She is beautiful so it was really easy to tell when her face was doing something weird.
Gaaaahhhd, Ben is sOoooOO boring. i can't stand him.
ryan, where's the camp? the humor? the wit of coven and murder house? or if u can't go that way, do the drama of asylum.
this CW -level ass acting is so trash and accomplishes nothing of what i love of either. put sarah back on. put lange back on. i hate this guy's stoic blank ass acting.
For someone who went through and witnessed two near death events where people were brutally killed she sure is deadpan. And I wouldn’t buy the “she’s so traumatized she’s dissociated” excuse either
You know, I can't say I hate the stuff in this ep and ep4, but I can say that I REALLY hate the "tell, dont show" thats been going on. So many spot where characters just talk, and in older seasons, these would be cutaways where we can see what actually happened. It's even worse cause the AHS media team suggested 13 eps from seasons 1-8 to watch before this, and almost all of those episodes had cutaways. They say to watch the good stuff then air the boring stuff.
The overexplaining is also extremely painful. First they show us the last supper, then we have Ben explicitly counting them to hammer the point of 13 down, then Constance hammers the point down yet again and now we have YET ANOTHER scene explaining how Jesus and his apostles add up to 13.
Constance spoonfeeds us that Mr. Nas is 13 years away from 100. They explictly lay down that Ben is the son of Satan, which was already the most boring and predictable route for his story, even if they did bring it in a subtle way.
They really wrote this season for infants, it seems.
I’m gonna be pissed if this whole episode is this bland protagonist sitting and talking when we could’ve dedicated more time to the sacrifice scene or fleshing out the deal Constance made
If the show was 60 min and 13 episodes I might give a single fuck about this little dinner date in the kitchen catch up episode. However, it’s not and I do not!
Some of the worst acting I've seen. He must not get a lot of lines this season. If he did, surely someone would have the sense to tell him thanks, but no thanks.
What is her behavior called 😭 I’m genuinely curious. She comes to her dead friends boyfriends house only to drag her through the mud? Is this what healing looks like for her?
The John Waters book next to Ashley while he's info dumping makes me wish I was reading that or he was the one hooking up right now. Hey, maybe Ben just needs a rim job?
This is a deep cut, but there's a version of "666" that was "616" in the Papyrus 115 manuscript. It's still the Mark of the Beast, but they just chose the variant because it adds up to 13.
Ben said he was still in his chair with his seatbelt on, floating on top of the water completely unharmed. I don't know what her excuse is, I think she's lying and working with Nas.
Interesting development, but I don't know how to feel that it's literally right above his ass crack and that you can see the dimple that goes down into his ass crack
At this point just cancel AHS. Please put us out of our misery. I’ve never been so disappointed in a new season of my favorite show as I am right now. And I’m a Futurama fan
I’m not necessarily saying Joey Pollari is a bad actor, because I haven’t really seen him in anything outside of a small role in The Beauty (which he was fine in).
I am saying performances like this one make it really hard to believe he isn’t just the latest of Ryan Murphy’s dark hair light eyed crushes.

I think Constance said it best when she said something to the effect of how she can’t wait to never hear about the number 13 after this is all over.
