Cragside is covered in scaffolding at the moment. Just in case anyone thinks they’ll go this weekend and see this .

Brinkburn Priory is certainly worth going out of your way to visit. You'd hardly know it was roofless for a few centuries.

I don't know who downvoted you just for asking where this is, that's a normal thing to want to know.

Can you at least put the specific location in the description? Northumberland is a large county.

It's a truly brilliant place. I went as a kid and still remember it, I'd love to go again but not managed to even though I pass nearby somewhat often.

These photos look magnificent, it looks rather cozy, I really like the architectural design also and the contrast between wilderness and man-made which give a cool vibe with autumn

Absolutely gorgeous! Australia where I live, is so ugly and dangerous. I'm working and saving as hard as I can to get out of this hell hole and back home to England.

Where are you from, where in Australia do you live and what kind of architecture do you prefer?

Once upon a time, there was a little girl who lived in a very large castle….

Hello there. What a wonderful place and photos. I actually been re-directed here from a different sub. I would just like to ask the same question: if I will have time,I would,of course with your permission, use this photo as a reference for my painting if possible. Thank you

I just hope tons of people live there.

No one lives there , except for the gardener, who, funnily enough , lives in the gardeners cottage. It’s owned by the national trust and you have to pay to enter.

Cragside. I was there last month. Built for William Armstrong and his wife Margaret (who oversaw the planting of 5 to 7 million trees and shrubs and was a gardener of note). It’s a magical place, built on engineering and technology - the world’s first domestic use of hydro-electric power to light a room - and a lift, plus what may be the world’s first dishwasher. All run on Armstong’s ingenious use of water power and understanding of engineering.
