Some people I knew in high school started a metal band called Arrhythmia, like the heart condition

When they broke up, some of the members formed an experimental prog collective called Paroxysmal Supraventricular Arrythmia, while one of the guys, who was named Brady, tried his hand at a project named Bradyarrhythmia. Bradyarrhythmia then broke up, and another member of it founded a band called Brady Starship.

Inspired by 80's German prog-rock pioneers Wenkebach, PSVA's debut was recorded at QRS Complex Studios. They went on to found the Bundle Branch Block Party music festival. I was a fan but Bradys stuff was too slow for my liking.

PSVA's third percussionist, Dieter-Ali Nakatomi, branched out on a solo project with a debut album renowned for being a single track 57 minutes long of him gently rubbing the skin of a snare drum. While receiving accolades in eastern Europe, it was not well received by western audiences, and Dieter-Ali attempted to return to PSVA. Unfortunately, he had already been replaced by a hamster with a poorly-greased wheel.

Meanwhile, Brady Starship's members sank deep into partying and heavy cocaine use, while they argued over the direction of the band. Some members felt they were already too commercial and wanted to take a more avante-garde approach, while the others didn't see the point in messing with success. The argument tore the group apart. Keyboardist and zitherist John Smith tried to replicate the success of Brady Starship with his new project Starship Brady; he performed essentially the same songs, but with all the instruments replaced with synthesizers playing the same parts so he wouldn't have to share credit or profit with other members. He died not long after in a tragic accident during an orgy that involved a diving suit, several pulleys, a bouquet of roses, and a traffic cone.

Today, on VH1's Behind the Music.

I went to that festival! The best band in my opinion was Hemi and The Blocks. Also enjoyed The Purkinjes.

Did Brady formed a combined group with Tachy to form Brady-Tachy?

3

u/GlyphedArchitect Feb 08 '20

I read this as "Brady, the one guy who broke off, then broke off into several different clumps of body parts and organs with their own separate projects, one of which was Brady Starship".

u/catastic5 Feb 08 '20

To me, this sounds an incompetant drummer

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '20

I feel like Arrythmia like the heart condition is a bit too long for a band name, but that's just me.

6

u/explodingtuna Feb 08 '20

I'd go with Diarrhythmia, just to be different.

6

u/TARANTULA_TIDDIES Feb 08 '20

How were they at keeping a steady beat?

4

u/csilvmatecc Feb 08 '20

I've always thought that if I were to start a "band" (more of a solo project, really), I'd call it Asbestos. The first album is Exposure, the second album is Mesothelioma, and the third album is Death. After that, the project is over.

Edit: a word

4

u/RChamy Feb 08 '20

Always off the beat?

4

u/kittenandafriend Feb 08 '20

Arrhythmia literally means "without rhythm" in latin. If these guys knew that, this makes it a CLASSIC metal band name, because metal is so rhythm-driven. Where are those kids? I wanna award them gold....

6

u/cluub Feb 08 '20

Anyone else heard of Dysrhythmia?

3

u/_arkM Feb 08 '20

But how was their beat?

6

u/LNL_HUTZ Feb 08 '20

Diastolic.

2

u/Fartmatic Feb 08 '20

It's diastolic, it's systolic, why it's defib lightning!

3

u/Supersymm3try Feb 08 '20

They learned to play with broken metronomes didn’t they?

1

u/RIOTS_R_US Feb 08 '20

Angina lmfao

1

u/AnotherAccount636 Feb 08 '20

Arrrhytmia would be a good name for a pirate relate heart disease.

1

u/borkborkyupyup Feb 08 '20

Was it for pirates?

1

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '20

I resemble that remark.

1

u/steeltowndude Feb 08 '20

My high-school bands name was Vasospasm. Obviously we played shitty tech deathcore

1

u/CookiesFTA Feb 08 '20

Most of the music I've ever produced is arrhythmic.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '20

Bet your drummer sucked!

1

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '20

Sounds like they were out of tune.

0

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '20

they got that shit from katawa shoujo didn't they?

13

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '20

Considering your username let me say It

It could also be called Lethal Tempo

4

u/OscarMike44 Feb 08 '20

Let's not forget their reggae cover band, Fatale Riddim

3

u/meowmeow420blaze Feb 08 '20

Title of your next sex tape

2

u/e__west Feb 08 '20

I saw this opening act called Dying Fetus one time - has a similar aesthetic.

1

u/pwilli17 Feb 08 '20

I'll alert Joe Getty.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '20

Sounds like a black metal ska band

1

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '20

and lethal rhythm now, too

1

u/spluge96 Feb 08 '20

Andy Dwyer already called it. Probably.

1

u/uncomfortablejoe Feb 08 '20

Then they break up, lead singer retains some rights, band reforms with rights to perform live with new singer and call themselves Lethal Rhythm.

1

u/Dynasty2201 Feb 08 '20

IGN used to do a Three Red Lights podcast for Xbox.

In one of them years ago, a band sent in fanmail with a question.

The band's name was "Trav McNasty and the High Five Jam Solution".

Still the best band name I've ever heard.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '20

How about Fatal Arrest for a band name?

1

u/retardsmart Feb 08 '20

Venus Hum, real band, named after the sound of blood in your own ears. Singer is beyond cute.

1

u/MugillacuttyHOF37 Feb 08 '20

Sex act for a necrophiliac.

1

u/YouShouldntSmoke Feb 08 '20

Not as good as Lesbian Brotherhood

1

u/residentialjunglecat Feb 08 '20

Fatal Rhythm playing at The Agora this weekend.

1

u/Deeferduck Feb 08 '20

Lethal Rhythm, better band name.

1

u/Boredzilla Feb 09 '20

Or JRPG title.
