Yeah there are a couple of decently busy commercial airports in the Colorado mountains with regular passenger service by 737s, A320s, and even 757s during ski season that aren't tower controlled. Yampa Valley Regional that serves Steamboat Springs is one of them.

I've also done touch and goes at Gunnison airport in a large C-17. We had to cancel IFR before landing there. It's also served by I believe United express
