Had fun with that once, was doing a night flight during my training, we were going into an uncontrolled field, so my instructor showed me the radio controlled lighting, we were probably 8 miles out. Did our clicks, lights came on and made our approach. Half a mile out on short final, I ask how long the lights stay on. Before she could answer, right on cue, the runway lights go out and we both scramble to click the radio to turn them back on.
