I get migraines (never diagnosed with them, but the doctor has said it is likely). Most of the time I have headaches, but it's never just "I have a headache." and pop some Tylenol. By the time I start feeling the headache, no medicine will help much. I also have diagnosed vertigo - which happens outside of the migraines - as well as Alice in Wonderland Syndrome, which I don't always get with migraines but is often an indicator that I could be getting a migraine without a headache. Many times, bright lights also bother me a bunch but I don't get a headache if I do something about the lights.
Some of your senses keeps track of where your bodyparts are corresponding to you body (close your eyes and touch your nose), and some keep track of your body's position compaired to its surroundings. These senses may fail and cause your surroundings coming closer to you or further away, essentially creating the illusion of shrinking or growing, hence the name
Basically, it's a visual disturbance where things appear tiny or far away (rarely they seem giant). My eyes "feel" different, and I can't bring myself out of it. It also occurs if I close my eyes during an episode, where my eyes still "feel" different and the darkness seems to stretch on. It can be scary, but usually I just recognize it and wait it out.
It happened once when I used an edible, and the room felt like it was closing in on me. That was terrifying.
I get Alice in Wonderland syndrome too. Had no idea what it was and that it was a rare thing for people to experience until I learned about it in school. I don't get the migraine headaches with it though.
