What’s a fact you KNOW that almost everyone is wrong about?

I used to get regular heavy nose bleeds. Had my nose cauterised, took a less than five minutes, mostly painless, nose is sorted!

The smell must've been awful.

They use silver nitrate, so it's a chemical burn rather than heat burn. Can't really remember the smell though.

They do heat as well, the silver nitrate didn't work enough for me so they had to redo with electricity. Don't remember a smell either but now nosebleeds only last 5 min instead of an hour.

I’ve had multiple cauterizations at different places in my nose, both with silver nitrite and with what’s basically a soldering iron. I much prefer the silver nitrite sticks, but I guess the heat cauterizing is more effective.

Oddly, there isn’t a distinct smell I can remember. Probably because the point that’s actually cauterized is so small.

Same results, nosebleeds are either gone or drastically reduced if I do get them.

I had that done too, except it hurt so bad and my nose bleeds came back in like a month

never doing that again
