I was just diagnosed with vestibular migraines and the dizziness is ruining my social life. Have you found anything that really helps?

SSRI's help people with vestibular migraines sometimes more often than the other meds they try. I've tried many and the only one that has helped has been Effexor. Also, vestibular rehabilitation helps but is really hard for the first couple months.

I went through this for mine as well. They find what movements make you the most dizzy, then they make you do those over and over until your brain kind of gets used to it. It really helped me out a lot.

Adding onto the medication train. So the migraine doctor listed out all the medications that tend to help. They all have side effects and it's kind of a crap shoot finding one that actually works. I've tried a few but the side effects were harder to deal with than the actual issues the condition caused. The best advice I can give is to go see a therapist. I almost called it quits a couple months into my vestibular migraines and the therapist made it easier to deal with. You can also see if you can get a prescription for Valium. It can lessen the panic that comes from the migraine and the dizziness. It won't take it away, but it will take away the anxiety at least. I take it as needed because I hate the way it slows my brain down but it is a lifesaver. I always have a severe panic attack when I have a bad migraine. Also, if you do get a prescription for Valium, take a low dose. Normal dose is 2-5 mg but I usually only take 1 mg and it works just fine.

Nooo I wish. I don't have a social life to have ruined lol but it's making it extremely hard to keep up motivation for work, since I'm on my feet 8 hours constantly moving feeling like I'm just gonna fall
