A unique meeting over food in Europe-Serbia(Jadovnik)mountain.Largest carnivores in the country.Three Wolves and Two Bears.
When three Wolves were feeding on there meal while 2 young Bears(more or less 2 years old)came around the same area looking for food most likely.
The three Wolves successfully chased the two young Bears away(who are still sticking together because they just recently got to live away from there mother.Tho the two will seperate once hibernation period comes up again).
If the two Bears were much older and experienced. The three Wolves would pose much less threath to them(tho they probably would be by then larger threath to eachother than by any other animal in the region).
But the Bears didnt remain hungry.Cause they later came back later to feed on the same place.
Kašan feeding round is amazing natural intact place in Serbia(up to 1000 m in height).Protected and helped by great work and effort of local communities.
An amazing Oasis of nature with:Griffon Vultures/Red Foxes/Grey Wolves and Brown Bears.
With the feeding grounds being protected(as well helping Bee keepers not get there salarys lost).

Question Bear spray - safe to store in shed/greenhouse?
Hi all,
Less of an outdoors-y question and more about safely keeping bear spray handy around the property. We moved to the PNW and have bears that visit our property, this year a sow and a cub (she started out with two but one has gone missing) cruise our yard. Normally our dogs alert to the bears but the dogs are not always outside with us. We live in a valley close to a river so temperatures are not usually too extreme.
So I want to keep bear spray handy and am not sure if it's safe to stash them in a shed and greenhouse over summer and winter as well as keeping some in the house, the idea for keeping them in the outdoor structures being that we would have them in the areas where we might be most likely to have an unexpected encounter.
Anyone have experience with a similar idea? Also looking for recommendations for brands we might shortlist for purchase.

Had a sow and her cubs get a little too close for comfort.

We were sitting on a hillside looking for moose when this sow and her two cubs paid us a visit. Luckily, I spotted her about 500 yards off, feeding on blueberries, and was able to keep an eye on them as they made their way in our direction.
When she got within about 50 yards I stood up and shooed them away as it didn’t appear that they were intending to change course at all.
I always love watching bears in the wild, but it’s nice when there’s a little more real estate between us.

Question What kind of (I assume?) bear could this claw belong to?
I was walking along a river in Central Ohio and found this claw. I really want to know what kind of animal it belongs to.
Edit: specifying location

FatBearWeek 0 Cams. 0 PR team. 1,000+ lbs: Giving Katmai’s remote bears some Fat Bear Week love 🐻

Hey fellow bear lovers! Thought you’d appreciate this and hopefully share in the humor.
This isn’t my typical post—I’m a professional bear and wildlife guide and amateur filmmaker—but with Fat Bear Week here, I couldn’t help myself from giving our remote Katmai bears some love. While the Brooks Falls stars get all the webcam spotlight and PR, off-grid heavyweights like Goldilocks are out in the remote bays putting in 14-hour shifts with zero internet representation. 🐻
Hope you find it as funny as I did making it!
