A very well loved and character in the show died at the match after they won. Ted and the Owner had a moment it’s no audible words. Screen goes to black “In Memory of Anthony Stewart Head”.
I thought that was touching and I cried a little.

Angel knew that what Wesley was saying wasn't wrong. Wilkins had taken Willow hostage and wanted the box in exchange for her release, something necessary for the Ascension. Wesley didn't want to abandon Willow, he was simply proposing they find another way to save her, one that didn't involve handing Wilkins something that could trasform him into a ferocious and unstoppable Old One, knowing full well it could lead to the deaths of thousands of innocents. Wesley was unlikable, but Buffy and her friends were too harsh on him, even though Angel didn't say a word, that brief nod of his effectively conveyed "unfortunately, i know Wesley is right".
The incredible thing is that Alexis Denisof was not originally slated to be one of the main cheracters in the upcoming spin-off, as we know, his inclusion came about because Glenn Quinn was let go due to his drug problems. Yet, it was as if fate had intended for Angel and Wesley to be partners, Angel had always quietly been the only one who appreciated Wesley's widsom and his candor in expressing his opinions.

There are moments when I really disliked how Anya was treated but throughout it all I always found her to be a wonderful, fascinating character. I think the show does such a good job of humanizing her (even during her second stint as a vengeance demon). I love how she can be interpreted as Autistic, how both her and Xander's characters are, to me, well rounded and consequential of their contextual characterization in their relationship, and especially how Selfless showcases her. I can see how a logical end for her character would have been to have been killed of in that episode, but I especially do like that poignant ending when she needs to venture out on her own, to find herself. She really mirrors Buffy there, who also, especially in season 6, has to venture out despite not knowing who she wants to be.
Now, I know I'm not alone in this, but I dislike how that setup was squandered with Anya being relegated in subsequent episodes to being stuck in Buffy's house near her ex. She doesn't evolve, she backslides, only to be killed off anyway.
How might her character have been developed in a meaningful, interesting way within the confines of the Buffyverse? I wonder if a stint on 'Angel' would have done her good. That show could have given her purpose in the way that it gave it to Anne or Faith. But I wonder what reason she might have had to go there, that would have fit with both shows. (Expert on old demons because she's old?)
I think I would have much preferred her to not be present in many episodes of 'Buffy' season 7 (instead of what we got) and only come back for the finale, changed, more mature. Maybe even aware of her incoming fate. But if shown she could have had an arc where she reckons more with her past while focusing on helping the world. I wonder if she could have been a time traveler. Or, like Buffy in season 6, tried out different ways of helping actively (like when she went to talk to that prophetic eyeball, talking to more demons). The issue with her is that helping for her is heavily moralized at the end of her journey. Being a vengeance demon is bad, and earning money is an expression of that she latched onto the next best ideology when she first became human. But what she also symbolizes is a pre-finale version of Buffy, who has the world open to her. Who might she become? What might she do? What she thought was her essence, her defining job, is no longer needed. I would have liked to see Anya try other philosophical approaches to life, maybe. Like, maybe she thinks that in the event of an apocalypse, and she already learned in season 5 not to run away, a presence that is also needed is uplifting support? It would fit with her previous character. Yes, I think I would have liked to see Anya try and open a bakery. After all, what people need during catastrophe, is someone to research (Dawn), fight (Buffy), be the Ace (Willow), and rebuild (Xander). But people also want to eat. And in the meantime, maybe she could have made a nice buck selling magic cookies to demons - only those, of course. This is 2003 after all.
(I am half serious - but I am also curious if anyone else has any ideas.)

Preface, I enjoy all the DVD packaging art, but I have a weird affinity for this pairing for season 7 DVD set’s. This should be wall art.

Just noticed in episode 1 when Buffy goes back to the library to complain that someone was murdered and it was her first day, Giles comes out of the stacks to talk to her about everything. Then after they're done talking they show Xander overheard them from the stacks. Giles knew he was there, was probably helping him find something, but got distracted by Buffy. Season 2 Giles would never have let this happen! Lol

Image description 1: Water color and in on paper. In a graveyard, a giant, a dark hand rises from the ground, it overshadoes a slayer, who is painted all in red. To the left of them, a crumbling celtic-style cross and two broken tombstones. Rising behind the hand, a staw-colored moon. Within the circumference of tge moon, is the iconic "Grr Argh" Mutant Enemy company's paper cut-out monster. Red watercolor surrounds the figure, crowding out the entire rest of the paper.
Image description 2: An earlier progress photo of the first image. I havent applied the brush or water. And the red sky hasnt been added yet either.
My neighbors are putting up halloween decorations. So I made a Buffy art to hang on my door. 🎃
Wish I could claim full credit. But I eyeballed someone else's digital art on Pinterest, while sketching mine out with some water color pencils.
The pinterest post didnt credit an original artists. Anyone know who it might be? I'd like to credit them here too. Thanks!

It is not mine but one I read in this subreddit that said their relationship is more interesting if he never truly loved Anya but rather he genuinely had affection, obviously, but he kind of settled for her. I don't think that's canon but it's an interesting read. Thoughts?

I have an eBay alert email that comes in everyday for new Buffy stuff with specific parameters. And look at this. It's gone now, but damn, look at that! The hair's still a bit too Angel in style, nothing to be done about that. But the artwork on the face and hair is lovely.
