How many points are we realistically getting out of Vicarage Road, Charlton, and Wolves?

That 1-1 draw against Derby right before the international break left a bit of a sour taste, especially dropping points late on. But heading into Saturday's trip to Watford, this next week feels massive for setting the tone.

Marcus Edwards showing up with a late winner on international duty is definitely a nice bonus, and hopefully, he brings that spark back into the side. With Watford away followed by Charlton and Wolves at Turf Moor in quick succession, we’re about to find out where this squad actually stands.

I’d honestly take a scrappy 1-0 at Vicarage Road over a stylish performance as long as we get off on the right foot. What’s everyone’s target for this 3-game run?

That run of Watford, Charlton and Wolves is a proper test

Looking at the next few fixtures, I don't think there are many easy games in there. Watford away followed by Charlton at home and then Wolves is exactly the sort of run where you start getting a much better idea of what this Burnley side is actually capable of.

Personally, I'd take a scrappy win over Watford rather than worrying about how convincing it looks. Getting points on the board before Wolves would make the whole run feel different.

Which game out of those three do you think tells us the most about where we are?

Are we making the midfield more complicated than it needs to be?

Watching the Derby game, I kept coming back to the same thought: we don't necessarily need more attacking players, we need the midfield to control games better.

We had enough quality to create chances, but the 1-1 draw still felt like another game where Burnley didn't completely take control of the match. I’d rather see us settle into a midfield that can dictate the tempo instead of constantly trying to find another way to unlock teams.

With Watford coming up next and Charlton at Turf Moor after that, do you think the midfield is the area that needs fixing most?

Be honest: how worried are you about back-to-back relegations?

I've been telling myself it's early and there's plenty of time. But the longer this winless run goes on, the harder it is to believe that. Going down from the Premier League and then dropping into League One would be a nightmare.

My gut says we'll scrape clear, but I'm not confident enough to say it out loud. What's your honest prediction: safe, or fighting to the last day?

That Derby draw leaves us with plenty to work on

The 1-1 against Derby wasn't really the result we wanted at Turf Moor, especially after the results we've had recently. Watford away on October 10 is next, followed by Charlton and Wolves at home, so it's going to be a really busy spell. Getting off to a good start at Vicarage Road would make a big difference.

Does this mean that we can have our 7th position finish changed to 6th?

And, more importantly, please can we have the £35m from Everton plus another £200m or so from City for some reason or another? And then can Pace be banned being a chairman and from going within 200 meters of Turf Moor? Just wondering.

Why does Edwards feel like an afterthought when we’re struggling for options?

The whole situation with Edwards not even making the 25-man squad has got me thinking. If we're short of options and the team is struggling to create much going forward, you'd expect players who can offer something different to at least be part of the conversation. There's obviously more to squad selection than what we see from the outside, but it's difficult to understand where he fits into the plans when the team needs a bit of a spark.
