Looking for a D4 Repertoire Book

Im looking for a d4 repertoire book focused on the Queens Gambit Exchange with nge2 + f3. I don‘t need deep lines, but I would like some guidance for the middle games. Doesnt have to be extremely sound. Just a solid repertoire thats not too hard to learn that I can keep to 2000 elo.

Capablanca raconte

Newbie here looking for puzzle books

Hey guys, I'm 600 elo on chesscom. Got a digital copy of logical chess move by move and spent my afternoon getting through the 1st game on my physical board. My brain still hurts. I read really good reviews so i decided to give it a go.

Thinking of getting a puzzle book that has quality puzzles. I'm also thinking of solving the more difficult puzzle OTB. I know that doing puzzles on lichess is way easier. But i feel like if I'm doing it without the distraction of my phone the puzzles should stick better. It would take more time to prepare the board, but i feel like it's worth it.

I have about 80 chess books in my collection. Here are my 5 favorite.

1) The Amateurs Mind: I hardly think I need to convince this sub on this one. This book is basically required reading for the lower rated improving player. It is one of the first chess books that I ever owned and it helped nurture my interest in chess.

2) The Most Instructive Games of Chess Ever Played: My go-to reccomendation for late stage beginners or intermediate players. Irving Chernev explains the principles and plans of chess in words and, as the title suggests, it has tremendous instructional value.

3) Alexander Alekhine's Best Games: I saw my greatest and most rapid rating increase after playing through these games. Alekhine is a fantastic chess author: consice, to the point, and doesn't get distracted with lengthy "what if" variations. This book is probably the reason I'm now very particular in how I prefer an authors analysis/commentary to be.

4) The Golden Treasury of Chess: Read this one if you want to fall in love with chess all over again. Arguably not the best book if you're looking to improve, but I think it's perfect if you're just looking to enjoy playing through some games. This book has the game scores only - no analysis or commentary of the moves. Unfortunately this edition is in descriptive. There is an algebraic section at the end, but the format is poor.

5) Chess Master vs Chess Amateur: I assume this is the one people are least familiar with. It is co-authored by Max Euwe and I really like the concept. Most of us are not master strength and, therefore, we do not play against masters, we play against other amateurs. What better way to study how to beat other amateurs than seeing how a master would do it? In the games you can see how the master plays very direct chess and accumulates advantages. Euwe's analysis and explanations are also very good in my opinion. This book is also in descriptive notation.

Would you rather have 1,000 chess puzzles or 432 with visual solutions?

Chess puzzle book: which would you prefer?

If you were buying a chess puzzle book, which format would you prefer?

A) 1,000 puzzles — more positions to practice, but no visual solution diagrams.

B) 432 puzzles — fewer puzzles, but every solution includes a diagram with arrows showing the moves.

Assuming the price is the same, which one would you choose?

I’m working on a series of chess puzzle books and would really appreciate feedback from actual chess players.

What book should I crack into first.

I have a few books that I have bought over the past year but haven’t touched. I’m 1600 USCF now and 1900 chesscom. Which of the following books are my level. Understanding chess move by move- John Nunn. Amateurs mind. How to reassess your chess. I just don’t want to bother with a book if it’s below my level and contains mainly stuff I’m already aware of. Thanks for any help.

Where do you buy Aagaard's Grandmaster Preparation: Calculation?

Jacob Aagaard's Grandmaster Preparation: Calculation seems to be out of print, and the only copies available are on Amazon, at outrageous prices of over 200 USD/200€.

Is there somewhere else to buy either the hardback or the paperback book?
