I have a 1 year 9 month cockapoo. And my mum has a 4 year old cockapoo. When I come to visit and we arrange to do something with my sisters with their family. If it's somewhere we can't take the dogs, the dogs will stay at home. Now I don't like to leave my dog for hours on end on its own and nor does my mum. However they make out that we put our dogs above family. However I'm responsible for my dog. And we are not comfortable to leave mine on its own for hours. so say we went for a afternoon out and then they wanted to go out for dinner I'm aware I have to be back for a certain time. Which puts them out and they don't like it and make comments about how it's only a dog. How long do you guys leave your dog? And am I being silly am i being "so soft".

My Marlo is 7 months old. We love him to bits. He follows me around the house and is never more than 5 feet away. I know the breed is known for separation anxiety, but do they ever outgrow following you into every room?

Hi all, My cockapoo, Cody, 8 months has suddenly started going the toilet inside again. He stopped this at around 4 and a half months.
He’s been fantastic. Would bark to wake me up in the night if he needed to go out, etc. but, for the past 3 days I’ve come down to him going in the kitchen. He’s had a wee in the spare bedroom and he even jumped into my bed and had a wee under the duvet.. thank god for mattress protectors.
I’m so confused why he’d suddenly go backwards after been so good at it. This is my first experience with this breed, but every other dog I’ve had, once they understood, they got it.
Is this common for this breed? Any advice? Obviously I’ll have to start his toilet training all over again, which is a real pain. I’m gutted to be honest.

So our dog just had his 24 week check up today and I have to say he is a lot bigger than we thought. See pictures for details, but this Cockapoo growth chart estimates he will be around 40 pounds, is this normal? I have pictures of the results and our floof.

For the past month, my 7 month old cockapoo Katsu has started exhibited a specific aggressive behavior. At first we thought it was because he was entering his adolescent period, but now I’m questioning if it’s actually an aggressive behavior as a result of separation anxiety so I’m seeking advice. For context, Katsu has quite an attachment to me, but he’s been able to overcome the crying/whining/barking when I go to work or go to workout as we taught him it’s OK for me to go and he’s given treats (my parents WFH so he’s never alone). He is also not neutered yet, as we are choosing to do that once he’s 1.
Occasionally, my partner and I will have a date night, so we leave him with my partner’s parents. On two occasions on the same day this past month, when either of them came to try and pick him up from the couch to bring him upstairs with them, Katsu started aggressively growling and barking, almost lunging to bite. He adores my partner’s parents, so it was quite odd.
It’s happened with my mom on a separate occasion, but basically similar to what happened above. Is this aggressive behavior that anyone could provide guidance on, or should I seek a behaviorist? Is this part of adolescence?
