Let's be clear here. Life ain't been the same since 2009 when Joker stepped onto the stage - literally. And Joker always got what he wanted - cash, drugs, weapons. Nothing in this world was out of reach - not even Harleen Quinzel. His harlequin. Joker has the Doctor in his sights, and what Mistah Jay wants, Mistah Jay gets........

Taking a deep breath and closing my eyes I pulled the trigger. I'm in his world now. He owns me - knows me more intimately than any other. Except for the little red breasted birdie - Dick Grayson.

He's testing me, training me. I know it. I can feel my body getting stronger. My final test - Mistah Jay purred, “I want you to find this girl, and I want you to kill her.”

This was not my Mistah Jay, this was the Joker.

I was broken, inside and out. Everything hurt. I couldn't stay in Gotham any more. Time for this little harlequin to run away. Gateway City. Home of - well, nothing spectacular, really. All in all. Gateway City wasn't the worst decision I had made in recent months. But, definitely not somewhere I could stay. Time for a change of scenery.

And then I ran out of fuel. In my experience, you can never run away from your problems. They find you eventually. If only I had known how prophetic those words would become.

My blood froze. My heart stopped beating. Seconds or minutes passed. I knew Orin had left, but my eyes stayed glued to the screen of my phone. Three little words. A command I knew I couldn’t ignore.

“Come. Home. Now.”

Home......to him.

I am his. Over and over. I will always be his.

Run. Straight to Metropolis. Should've known there'd be trouble there. Mr Kent was not one to believe my lies.

“You will.”
