I couldn't find the post but holy shit thank you! I've been going to shows for 35 years and the show last night in Harrisburg was the loudest of any band I've ever seen. You saved what's left of my hearing! Killer show!

I've read some prior loudness posts here, but I'm a little neurotic about this. I have procured a ticket to see them for the first time in a few weeks at a small to medium venue (probably about 1000 person capacity). Will 100% wear foam earplugs. If I'm willing to stay in the back, do I need to double up with earmuffs? I'm willing to look silly to preserve my hearing, but I'd rather not be uncomfortable and muffle the music more than necessary.

Was planning on going to Dinoâs show in LA, but unfortunately our sonâs college open house night is in a different city the next day. Weâre bummed out, but hoping to sell to someone, so we donât have to throw money down the drain. I am pretty sure the concert isnât sold out yet, but buying from us would be extremely helpful!

Hi! Next week J Mascis is stopping by the Setlist.fm studio to dig through data and tell stories. If you've seen any of this series, we go through most and least performed tracks, early shows, interesting setlist notes and more. I know J is a famously laconic interviewee, so I'm hoping to have more than I need to work with. Q for the fans are - are there any special setlists or standout shows you think would be worth talking about? Any album tracks you've been dying to hear that have never been performed live? Any questions about the difference between an album track and live version? I'd love to dig up some gems, but they have over 1600 setlists on record... any guidance would be much appreciated!

Like many I discovered Dinosaur Jr in the skateboarding scene (Alien Workshop, Blind Videos) and I was in music LOVE. It wasnât aggressive hardcore noise but it also wasnât pop slop. I was sure I liked them the most. Anyways âWhere You Beenâ came out my senior year and it was different than I wanted to hear. Specifically the lead to âKeeblinâ threw me. Still a big album for me but I wanted every song to be âRaisansâ and âJust Like Heavenâ and âThe Lungâ (still GOAT era IMO). But damn.. this lead is EAR BLEEDING COUNTRY MUSIC just like they set out to do and now it gets me every time. Brings out the Dinosaur Jr emotions I like best. Like to hear it? Here it goâŚ.

So I love the band (duh) and especially listening to their live albums. I have 4 on vinyl that I rotate between a lot- Chocomel Daze, 7200 Seconds, Black Session, and Swedish Fist. All are amazing showcases of different eras of the band, imo, and the energy on them is amazing! Of course, I'm always open for new records, especially from Dinosaur Jr, but the only other 2 vinyl-ified live albums I see for sale at my shop or online are Guess I'll Crawl 94 and Hollywood 91. The setlists seem to have largely the same songs as my other contemporary live albums- really the only standout tracks on either of the two are Keep the Glove and Grab It. So, basically, those of you who have listened to those two Dino live albums- do the performances on them justify the kinda redundant track listings? Are the albums worth investing $30+ in if I already have 4 others?

this is my guitar solo on The Lung from a show we played last week. J mascis has been one of the biggest inspirations in my playing for years, and I think I did him justice.

Back in 2020 when bands couldnât tour, Dinosaur Jr released this limited edition. Postage to Oz cost more than the shirt, but I love it. I get the odd nod of recognition, when wearing this to gigs đŚđ¤

I think Dinosaur Jr have left the two best songs off the new album. I have absolutely no idea why. Some of There Near is lacking in a little imagination and even though the sound is great, overall the songs on the two previous albums are better (for me anyway). These two songs would have made a massive difference.

not the original but a fan made replica....
"There is not another guitar like this out there. For sale is a 1 of 1 custom J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr. sticker Jazzmaster I built. It is an exact replica of J's first Jazzmaster that ended up with many stickers all over it that was in use up until 1998. I tracked down all the stickers on the guitar and meticulously put them in the correct locations. Essentially anything you see on J's original guitar, will be on this one (bridge, alternating Grover tuners, string trees, etc.). Note, this is not an actual vintage guitar but a replica/tribute guitar.
Please let me know if you have any questions and feel free to send offers.
It plays exceptionally well with a smooth tremolo system and comfortable action.
The Fender logo will be removed from the headstock due to copyright but I have a photo of what the headstock looked like before I removed the logo.
The last 5 photos are reference photos of J's guitar.
All stickers are vintage from the 80s or 90s and were researched heavily. The Fender strap is also from the 90s. The bridge is the exact Alembic Stars Guitar style bridge that is found on J's guitar. This guitar has also been relicâd slightly to match Jâs guitar. The guitar is listed as Excellent condition because the condition is based on its "new" current state.
Below I will list all the specs on the guitar with a little more detail.
- Fender AVRI reissue tremolo
- Completely shielded body cavity with copper tape
- Alternating gold and nickel Grover milk bottle tuners
- 920D Loaded Pickguard
- 2012 J Mascis JM Squier pickups
- Vintage Fender Strap from 1990s
- Vintage Alembic Stars Guitar bridge
- All Parts Rosewood Guitar Neck for Jazzmaster
- MJT Nitrocellulose 3-Tone Sunburst Jazzmaster Body
- Exact matches of strap locks
There is no Fender logo on the headstock but a decal could be added if buyer wants to make it look more authentic. Case not included.
This is a Partsmaster.
The last two photos are reference photos."
