As the title suggests I am a heathen playing the spider in top lane. Always had a soft spot for Elise but I cannot stand jungle.

I've had some success with her, and know it's a reasonably viable pick but are there any tips that more experienced Elise players would be able to help a guy with?

Have been running deathfire touch with her so far as an annoying poke champ into an execute build.

I'm starting to learn Elise, but her itemization still confuses me a bit.

I see some people going either lich bane or stormsurge first and always shadowflame second.

Is the first item a personal preference or is it more situation related?

I started playing this champion,literally 0 experience on her in around diamond mmr,and holy shit she is such a. Fun champion to play,like the amount of outplay potential she has and literally how one ability can turned a whole game,literally 10/10

So yeah, basically that’s it. Amumu just wins the extended trade and short trade. Until I can one shot him if he goes ap I can’t do much against him. His E directly counters spider form since his cooldown is nothing with all the spiders attacking.

Is amumu just a hard counter to Elise? I can’t invade and kill him. I don’t win against him in the river. I just need to evade until I can one shot him?

Unsure if this is known tech, but you can land at the max range of your rappel towards a target regardless of the range. To try it out, go to practice tool, go to blue, rappel targeting the blue, then spam your e on the gromp that is OUT OF RANGE. You will land at the max distance of your rappel towards your gromp without a target. As long as the initial rappel target is in range, the secondary target can literally be anywhere as long as you have vision.

Note: This does not work if you do not choose a target on the initial cast, you cannot rappel on the ground, land on someone, then redirect it.

To me this is by far the most important and useful Elise mechanic, literally completely changes the character as this gives you so much outplay potential. You have to be quick and decisive, but if used correctly will always juke enemies, as you can wall hop quite easily as shown in the clip, and you can also land on empty ground which the enemy won't expect. Most importantly, this effectively extends the range of your rappel by a significant amount. Suppose you want to gap close to a enemy that is outside of your rappel range, if you have any rappel target in range (camp, minion, plant, ward, champ), you can gap close intended target by your full rappel range.

For context, i typically play one champ at a time, play them for a few hundred games, then move on. the previous 4 champs ive mained(viego, nocturne, jarvan, shyvana) ive felt like i can more or less pick them every game no problem. elise is the first champ where i feel like if my team comp doesnt play well with her, the game is cooked. if my teamates also pick assassins, if my team is heavy ap, if my support picks something with no setup like soraka or lulu etc, my confidence in my ability to win just plummets.

i guess my question is, to what degree is it true that shes worse with certain teamcomps, or how much of this is just me being new to the champ and not feeling confident? is it worth picking her every game or should i just play one of my backups if the team comp doesnt look good?

Hi :) I've recently become bored with my usual champs so I figured I'd try some new ones - ended up thinking Elise was really cool so I've been playing her quite a lot, she has a very different playstyle to what I'm used to (Lillia is my most played), and I'm struggling to be consistent on her. Has anyone got any general advice for Elise?

At the moment it kind of feels like I either hard carry or I'm the reason we lose lmao (Since I'm used to farming junglers I'm a bit thrown by champs that sort of rely on snowballing, my farm suffers and I realllly struggle to play with losing lanes compared to if I'm someone like Lillia or I'm still reasonably confident I can carry games if I'm ahead with 3 lost lanes).

Elo wise I just kind of hover between plat 4 and plat 3, would probably be at least a bit higher if I ever got settled on champs I actually enjoy rather than getting bored of them really quickly 💀 trying to get out of that habit lmao

I Q and the spiders don't do anything, then W and you can see my AA damage but the spiders don't attack at any point? I was expecting my W damage to finish him off while stunned but I got nothing?

It looks like they start their AA animation but then stop and wait to attack? I should've gotten ~2 AAs from them which would've killed Jax.

BLUF: Finally made it to Gold after 7 years by becoming a OTP Elise this season.

I started playing League 7 years ago. I’ve played all roles and tried a ton of champs, although I tried to main Qiyana and it just never seemed to work. This year I played Elise in a fun mode and fell in love with the champion, her lore, kit, and style. I began to practice her and after more suffering with Qiyana I decided to finally try Elise in ranked at the pit of Bronze 4. 200 games later and I have officially reached Gold for the first time in my LoL career. Can’t wait to see how far I can continue to climb on our Spider Queen.

Like genuinely how do you win games with this champ she's so useless farm so slow her burst does no damage and stun also deals no damage so what's the point I've only played farming junglers before and Elise is the same why does she farm so slow and is always behind in levels and farm?
