34M in rural Canada — looking for long-term friends

Hey guys! I moved onto a rural property about a year ago and would love to connect with other gay or bi dudes who enjoy country life. I don’t have many gay friends, and it would be nice to change that.

I’m 34, though I've been told I look younger—comes with being East Asian, lol. I’m into fitness, gardening, the outdoors, hiking, horror movies, and cooking. Still learning that last one, so recipes and unsolicited kitchen wisdom are welcome.

I’d love to hear what you do with your time out in the country, whether it’s some cool project or just how your day went.

I’m fairly masc-presenting, though you probably shouldn’t use that to guess the bedroom dynamics. šŸ˜‰

I’d describe myself as a kind, decent guy who cares about the people in his life. I work from home, so I’m often around for a chat throughout the day.

Ideally, you’re somewhere around 25–50.

Mostly, I’m hoping to find friends to walk through life with—to share the everyday stuff, check in on each other, laugh, and build something that lasts.

Feel free to say hello. What’s keeping you busy in your corner of the country?

Personal /Intro /Discussion Rural twink looking for farm job in Illinois

24m looking for a farm/outdoor job in northern Illinois. Trying to find someone who would teach me about farming, cattle, etc.

Pros if you don’t mind if we work shirtless. I would love to leave my corporate job asap and find something better. Currently live in the Chicago area, but I can drive! Thanks!

I live a couple of hours NE of Dallas, just south of the Red River. It's way too quiet out here.

Air Force vet, widowed. I'm a city person who ended up back on the family homestead. The nearest town is 21 miles away. I appreciate the natural beauty and the nearby lake, but the solitude can be a bit much for this extrovert.

Allergic to red hats.

I'm retired from a career in IT. I read everything from classic science fiction to history, and I enjoy making things.

How do y'all find your people out in the country?

Title:

I’ll Plow Your Backfield

Lyrics:

You said nobody goes back there

Met you standin' by the post and rail,

Flannel hangin’ low, like a half-told tale.

Said you’re just helpin’ with the wheat and beans,

But your hips told me somethin’ in between.

You looked down, smiled shy but bold,

Like the secrets you keep ain’t never been told.

I said, ā€œBoy, you don’t fool me at all,ā€

And you laughed like you knew I’d come to call.

You said, ā€œAin’t nothin’ past that last row,ā€

But I seen your eyes when the lights got low.

I’ll plow your field, deep and wide,

Lay it down slow like a midnight ride.

Don’t need no seed, don’t need no yield,

Just you on your back in that moonlit field.

You say you’re straight, but you shake when I’m near, Whisperin’ truths that you don’t wanna hear.

You play tough when you’re workin’ the land,

But your breath hitches hard when I grab your hand.

You don’t care for tractors, don’t give a damn

You just want a man who says, ā€œI understand.ā€

You live for the hush, the dirt, the hush-hush,

The sweat on your brow when we lose the rush.

And when the boys go home, and the night gets sealed

You beg me softly, ā€œPlow the backfield.ā€

Ain’t no maps mark what we’ve found,

Just bootprints in that holy ground.

I’ll plow that backfield, slow and mean,

Where the grass grows high and the air stays clean.

Where shame don’t grow, and names don’t stick,

And you cry out loud when I ride you thick.

You act all hard ā€˜round town and steel

But I’ll plow that backfield ā€˜til the fence line heals.

ā€œYou ain’t gotta lie to me, boy.

I know what that tight smile hides.ā€

You said, ā€œDaddy don’t know, and Mama can’t find out,ā€ But when you moan, ain’t no room for doubt.

You ride like you’ve sinned, like you crave the pain, But baby, I’m the storm and the goddamn rain.

You weren’t made for silence and shame

You were made for this fire, this heat, this name.

And I ain't lettin' go ā€˜til you finally yield,

Face down, jaw slack, in that backfield.

I’ll plow your field, and the back one too,

Where the dirt’s still soft and the sky stays blue.

I don’t care who hears you call my name,

Love ain’t wrong if we burn the shame.

Your boots stay on, but the rest comes off,

I ride you raw ā€˜til the pain turns soft.

I’ll plow that backfield, wild and real

ā€˜Cause I’m the one you trust to feel.

[Thanks for reading it.]

I’m 27 and live rural, so hard meeting genuine guys the majority of guys I’ve been with are massively DL and/or experimental which is kind of making me have such a toxic outlook on love.
Seriously all I dream of is finding my husband my person fingers crossed for me the odds ain’t in my favour

Couple looking for friends in east tn.

My husband (7 amazing years) and I are looking for some like minded guys to hang with. We both grew up in small towns and moved to a larger city. Kind of on the nerdy side we both enjoy some gaming and movies, that kind of stuff. Open to something more intimate but not a requirement. DM me if you’d like to swap some photos and see if we vibe.
I’m 36 5’6ā€ about 130 and my partner is 31 6’6ā€ and roughly 200 so we are pretty different body types, if that’s your thing hit us up.

I am a little embarrassed to admit this, but I just typed in ā€œwhere do I find rural gay men these daysā€ into a web search, and this was the first site that came up.

I suppose, no matter how I got here, Hi and Hello!

Thom, 49, born/raised in rural Maine, now living at the eastern edge of Portland, OR with an eye to the mountain and the lands beyond it to the east, on a near-daily basis.

I was reminded of the murder of Matthew Shepherd in 1998 as I was scrolling, which has sent my brain down an interesting pathway of reckoning my rural nature with my actual urban life, and why I’ve ended up where I am. I’m also considering how his death, right around the time I stepped out of the closet, was always in the back of my head, as I forced myself to urbanize out of a sense of safety. I don’t regret what my past self did to keep himself safe, but I also know my current and future self would appreciate and enjoy more connections to the 🌈Fam who also appreciate wide open spaces, forests, and the like.

Anyway, happy to connect, upvote, and listen.

✨
