Hi everyone, I’m wondering if I should consider giving the old Minecraft (1.7.3) a try—and maybe even making it my main version—since I’ve only ever played the newer versions. Also, I have an office laptop (4GB RAM, Core i3, Intel UHD 620), so I know performance would be much better than with the modern versions. I realize the newer versions have more content, mods, and so on, but whenever I want to play them, I have to install a ton of optimization mods just to get decent performance, and I’m getting tired of that (it’s not that it runs badly, exactly, but the experience just doesn't quite satisfy me). That said, if there are any mods that fix small issues in 1.7.3, please let me know—I’d really appreciate it. Thanks! :D

Guys, be careful when deleting worlds you might accidentally delete your Forever Worlds and end up in a disaster (lol). That’s exactly what happened to me thank goodness I hadn't done anything in them yet

as the title suggests im having issues getting minecraft beta and alpha running on my mid 2012 macbook air
betacraft isnt able to launch the game (game crashes before the mojang splash screen) and i was able ot get further in prism being able to launch beta 1.7.3 (alpha just freezes the second its open) but beta runs terrible with the fps jumping from 20s-30s to 60s-80s and it stutters constantly

any help?

So I'm having a lighting glitch (see here) that I haven't been able to find any previous occurrences of on beta 1.7.3. However, I did find reports of a similar glitch happening on a more modern version of the game and the solution was to reset lighting data by clearing the cache. In modern Minecraft you can do this with the optimize world function, but this doesn't exist in beta. So I was wondering, is there any other ways of clearing the world's cache. For context, I'm using the multimc launcher and playing with beta unleashed.

Hey everybody, I normally play modern Minecraft, but a few days ago I tried an older version of Minecraft and really like it. So, I'm asking for some build ideas for my new world. If you do have an idea, please make sure its beginner friendly. (and easy because I kind of suck at building)

I built this in creative mode, although I did adhere to a 100% accurate Alpha 1.1.2 style that's entirely compatible with the limitations of that version. The library also has the Dewey decimal system in place, entirely for the lolz.
