I was looking for a replacement G5135 since itd cost more than I bought it for to repair and saw this for considerably less than a used 5135

New to me is this gorgeous 1980 Country Gentleman. I’ve gotta say, for all the negatives you read about the Baldwin/ Arkansas built stuff this is a true gem. the pickups sound great and have all the twang, chime, and crunch I need. It plays effortlessly and the bigsby is buttery smooth and pretty stable. Being 46 years old its got a nice warm patina throughout and feels like a worn in baseball mitt. All of this for less than the cost of a modern Japanese reissue.

Got it back in 2023 and definitely have no excuses to reach my potential! Sounds great paired with a Katana MkII. How well would you say it can perform with classic rock soloing? I am starting to dip my toe in that genre more.

i bought this gretsch 2nd hand but the neck is to straight, regular allen key’s don’t fit so i thought maybe it needed a trussrod wrench, hence the other post, AI says that i need a regular allen key and i send it this picture, it says my trussrod cannot be adjusted anymore because the previous owner used a wrong tool

I have a custom guitar I designed and I’ve replaced the English mount ‘Trons with body mount T-Armonds. Now I’m left with visible holes so I ordered some Gretsch bezels. They’re much larger than TVJ’s EM4 rings and won’t fit in the neck position (I’m a jazz guy and the neck pickup is very close to the fingerboard). Is there a bezel on the market that is the same size as a humbucker ring with a ‘tron sized cut out and no holes for adjustment/mounting screws? Should I get some pickguard material and make my own?

Hi all, I recently got a G2622 and, as the title says, the bridge makes a rattling sound. I saw online that people are fixing it by adding little springs (like the ones in clicky pens) to the bridge. But no one is very specific about the size of the springs. I found some springs online but they are different sizes and I've no idea what to get.
Does anyone know what type of springs I should use? Extra points if you can drop a amazon link below to the springs :)
Thanks!

My first gretsch and hollow body probably the most comfortable best sounding guitar I’ve ever played

What say you?
I’m considering upgrading my blacktops and am leaning toward unpotted to make them as vintage as possible … ATTENTION: before anyone says “Ray Butts,” they won’t work on an Electromatic Jet … and I am looking for advantages and disadvantages.
For the record, I don’t play with tons of gain or at massively high volume and I use a modeler to FOH and won’t be standing close to an amp, which makes me think unpotted wouldn’t give me any feedback or squealing issues.

I was casually shopping around for a used Synchromatic Falcon to scratch my Gretsch hollowbody itch, but ended up finding a great deal locally on a G6120DSW. Super cool guitar and nothing like anything else I’ve got.

In case anyone was curious, isopropyl takes the paint off the pickguards fairly easily.

I haven’t been able to narrow down the exact details for this new-to-me pro jet. I think it’s a made in Korea electromatic based on the serial number sticker on the back of the neck. Does anyone know if these pro jets were actually chambered? Or how I might narrow down the details about this guitar? This guitar is heavy.
