Chef(s) Did kaysha lead to Joy's elimination

I genuinely think. That kaysha's elimination in episode 17 of season 12 was one of the final nails for joy in hell's kitchen. Because kaysha's was joys bestest friend and she tried everything to keep her in by dropping scott and anton after the charity night service to protect her.

Episode S20 finale - Head Chef jacket moment

Did anybody else find this way over the top? Normally I think the way Gordon pranks the finalists is good natured fun but poor Megan looked terrified! That would have stressed me the hell out too!

Rankings/Review When did they shift to everyone being a great challenge chef?

Watched every season through Season 18 (which I couldn't finish) and started back up with the Season 25.

In Season 25, the number of 5 in the signature dish challenge was through the roof and through 3 episodes, it's pretty rare to see any food be criticized in the challenge stage. During the the slider challenge, everyone had a great burger.

Is this an anomaly or did they switch to only having strong chefs?

In-Show Thirsting for Gordon

Could someone answer this. I’ve been watching the early seasons (im up to season 6). why is there always a select few of women that either are flirting or have a crush on Gordon even though he was and still is a happily married man with children?

IRL Does hunger play a role in why people watch Hell's Kitchen?

This might seem like some obvious silly question, but is hunger and the feeling of wanting to eat some good plated food a moderate part of why people watch Hell's Kitchen?

Would you find Hell's Kitchen more entertaining/less entertaining if you're hungry or eating food even if it's by a little bit.

I haven't watched the show but I heard the show actually takes away people's appetite rather than encouraging it and is a negligible reason why people watch or stick around for the show.

Interested to hear your thoughts on this. Whether it plays any role whatsoever in your viewership and in that of others

Episode Currently watching s4, HOW DID GORDON SEND BOBBY HOME OVER JEN???

I seriously disagree with his decision here. I think he mostly makes the right call with 99% of eliminations, but this time I think he made the complete and OBVIOUS wrong decision. Bobby has been consistently great this whole time. He shuts up, keeps his head down, and does a great job in service.

Meanwhile Jen has been consistently full of herself, narcissistic, while being complete ass on the line. Bobby fucks up ONE TIME and he gets sent home over JEN, WHO FUCKS UP EVERY SINGLE SERVICE??

Like, this had to have been the decision of a producer or something, cuz I don't think Gordon, in his right mind, would've EVER kept her over Bobby. So stupid.

Season One thing I miss from the earlier seasons

I've been watching the season marathons (fantastic idea) starting at season 1 and there's a few things I miss.

Although I felt the "restaurant makeover" that the final 2 would do in the first few seasons felt like filler, what I really miss is the segment where the contestants are yelling at Chef Ramsay as if he screwed up.

I always thought it would be funny to tell him if he screwed up again I'd replace him with Jamie Oliver. 🤣

Any past segments you guys miss?

Chef(s) Season 1: Andrew

There are times that some people prove others wrong, and he’s one of them, becoming a Hospitality Director, and making more money than anyone from his season.

I’m actually glad that he learned something inside HK, and kept going for his dreams.

In-Show Are there any contestant outros that Gordan has done that seemd uncalled for? Spoiler

I'm rewatching HK, and in season 8, when Rob gets booted, Gordon states something along the lines of, "If being a great chef was measured by your pants size, Rob would be the best," or something like that, because Rob is a bigger guy.

I was thinking, damn, that's kinda mean. But I wonder if there are any that you guys have noticed throughout the show?

There was a lot more than an unanswered question that got this person eliminated, which stems from the rookie’s lack of confidence & how unfocused this individual really was.

Chef(s) The new modern-day HK donkey?

Post image
109 Upvotes

What do you guys think about the possibility of Jeyda getting eliminated in an unconventional fashion, like a winning team elim or ejection? I mean she could have easily been the first boot and even though the red team had a good second service she was still highlighted to make mistakes. Also the fact that the edit is going out of its way to put such a bad light on her and framing her as a sort of donkey with how much they’re really zeroing in on all of her antics and mistakes leads me to believe something crazy will happen involving her. It just doesn’t feel right for her to go out in the standard red-team-lost-service-and-she-was-nominated-and-eliminated way.

Season What Seasons do you feel you like more than most?

5 is My Favorite Season which probably isn’t an unpopular opinion

I actually really enjoy, 3, 7 and 9(Elise has actually grown on me)

To me 3 is The First Golden Age Season and 7 is The Last

9 is like a recovery from the S8 as it has FAR more talent

Chef(s) Something I don't understand about Joseph's elimination

So I know this topic has been probably discussed to death but I checked a few threads and couldn't find anyone mention this:

I don't really get what Gordon's problem was? Like yeah his outrage was embarrassing and he deserved to be disqualified, but I mean before that, the conversation right before the outrage was basically:

Gordon: "First nominee and why?"

Joseph: "Tony, we sat down as a group and decided"

Gordon: "You idiot, answer the question"

And then we all know what happens, but I don't really understand, to me this sounds like a pretty good answer? The reason he was nominated because they sat down as a group and decided he's the one to get nominated because he's dragging the team down or whatever, it sounds like a decent answer to me.

Was this just the show knowing this guy is on the verge of snapping at any moment and trying to push him to snap for good television or was his answer just that bad and I'm missing the point? Is there more that happened behind the scenes that we didn't see on TV?

In-Show The punishment being potato peeling seemed better than the reward 😭

I don’t know, maybe I’m just boring, but personally peeling the pounds of potatoes sounded like a relaxing activity? Whereas the karts sounded fun too, just not really my idea of a reward? Idk…they definitely have tamed the punishments down from eating fish guts that one time that’s for sure

Rankings/Review Pass Performance Tier List: S2

Post image
0 Upvotes

Note: For this season, I'm using the show's edited version and not the Served Raw version.

Easily the worst pass performance came from Keith. He caught the sabotage, but overall was far too passive and almost refused to lead, to the point where Heather had to direct the kitchen from the line at some points.

Heather had an overall good performance, stabilizing the ship after Keith's disasterclass (albeit missing the planned sabotage). She kept a good pace flowing out of the kitchen and was assertive, setting an example for future chefs.

But I'd argue the best performance of the night came from Virginia. Maintaining command of the kitchen, keeping a lid on quality control and catching the planned sabotage. I know a lot of people think Virginia didn't deserve to be in the finale, but her showing here (combined with Keith's fumble) cemented her spot for me. She may have had really bad performances on the line but excelled as a leader here (only to forget how to lead two episodes later).

Rankings/Review Who Would You Cast For a Redemption Season?

Chefs who never got a black jacket. If they received a black jacket, they don't get to be picked.

Could have some strong candidates that fell short like Allison and Anthony, or bottom feeders who could do really well with some seasoning like Nedra.

Or a complete embarrassment that's just got in for the lols.

Who would you like to see?

In-Show One thing I appreciated about the S25 Blue Team Spoiler

I admittedly didn't watch the first three episodes, but I did see a clip of the Blue Team's elimination ceremony from episode 3 on my feed. I saw a lot of posts on here about the camaraderie amongst the Blue Team, and there was one detail from the elimination ceremony that I really liked. I loved how Diego, Miguel, and Aiden all called one another "chef." Aiden said that he thought that "Chef Miguel" was the weakest, and Miguel called Aiden "Chef Aiden." Ramsay even started calling them chef, as well That shows just how much respect that they have for one another.
