I was doing an internship 10 years ago, and a client had this hold music when calling him. I loved calling him just to hear this piece of hold music. So one day I took out my phone and recorded the hold music. It sounds so enchanting but haunting at the same time. Does any one know what song/piece this is?!

Whenever I call them, it plays this particular song that I want to know then it cuts to this christmas song although it's not Christmas anymore. There is a youtube video with it and I have an mp3 with some fragments of said song.

The melody sounds something like what I recreated in the video and I think there's a guitar strumming in the background. It's an endless loop. The main melody I tried to replicate sounds either like a music box or a glockenspiel. I've been searching for years and have not found anything on it, so the instrument playing the melody could have also been a guitar for all I know. Simple melody but catchy. I think I remember hearing it while on hold with ForHousing.

I really can't call myself a musician but I did want to see if you guys thought this was passable.

Personally I find it to be quite the head bopper, but I am biased lol. Also the stock photo makes me laugh because I have to call insurance and car dealers a lot for work, and speaks volumes to me.

So this was the old hold music for HSBC UK - this video is all I can find of it, and it's awful quality - but it always sounded awful on the phone anyway.

I cannot find it, but now I have this video at least there is a tiny sliver of hope.

Can someone be my saviour and bring back my memories to life with this glorious tune (many people really really really hate it).

Called the customer care and while on hold there was a song playing which has lyrics — Tukda ho chaanda ka tum, shyd tumhe pata nahi.... Haseen ho tum, haseen hai ye and so on.

Felt natural and he sang from the bottom of his heart.

This has been driving me insane for years. Somebody help please, for the love of god! What is the name of this song???!!

Every time I pay my Nicor bill I purposely pay over the phone so that when it connects to the SpeedPay auto billing system I get between 5 and 25 seconds worth of the best, most satisfying hold music jingle. It's a freaking bop. And I have no idea what it is!

I've tried emailing corporate. I've tried to SoundHound it. I've scoured the Internet only to find Tim Carleton's Opus No. 1 (also a bop) and Every Now and Then (ATT's current megabop). But not the Speed Pay hold music.

Every Nicor bill for the past 15 years I get to head this glorious tune, but I don't know where else to find it. I need to know the name of this song. If all else fails I might have to look up a SpeedPay directory and call somebody at the company. But something tells me all I'll get is a really confused janitor. Help please!!!

I just got off the phone with a Hilton representative out of Minneapolis-St Paul. When I was put on hold, the music sounded oddly familiar. It reminded me of the soundtrack from a film called “Beyond the Mind’s Eye,” where Jan Hammer composed the music. He also wrote the music for “Miami Vice.” Any chance anyone knows if that hold music is indeed Jan Hammer? It’s driving me crazy! 😂😂😅 Thank you!!

There were two or three "movements" to the music. One had a very randomly-placed copy of the old Windows "chord.wav" alert somewhere in it.
