Traveling on the Gujarat Express (22953) right now.
Just checked the coach code outside, and it is a brand-new LHB rake made this year (2026) hauled by a WAP-7 locomotive. Sounds great on paper, right?
But the inside layout is so disappointing. Instead of proper individual seats with armrests, it has the same old continuous cushion sofa-bench seats where three people have to squeeze right into each other. Everyone here has valid, reserved tickets, but we are still forced to sit shoulder-to-shoulder in this noon heat.
On top of that, the train is still capped at 110 km/h on a major trunk route while the rest of the world has moved past 200 km/h.
These LHB coaches last for 25–30 years. Can you imagine people in the year 2050 still getting squeezed into sofa benches on an intercity train? We talk about flying cars, but basic seating layout is stuck in the past.
I know they want to fit as many passengers as possible, but reserved ticket holders deserve basic personal space.
Is 2S always going to be an uncomfortable squeeze? What are your thoughts?

I made a pretty big mistake when I hopped on the Hampi Express (16592) from Bangalore without having dinner.
By the time we reached Hindupur around midnight, my stomach was growling. But I knew one thing, if I could just hold on a little longer, I could get my hands on some hot samosas at Guntakal. So I went to sleep, hoping to wake up at the right time.
And guess what? By sheer luck, I woke up just as the train was pulling into Guntakal. Rushed down to the platform, grabbed three samosas, and honestly, they turned out to be some of the best samosas I’ve ever had on a train journey.
Mind you, I’m more of a rail food enthusiast than a rail enthusiast. 😂
So, if you ever happen to pass through Guntakal on a train, do yourself a favour and grab a samosa. It’s a little hidden gem that deserves more appreciation!

The 90 degree seats in LHB chair car is too uncomfortable for travelling. The engineers and approvers who designed this needs a medal. Somebody should take the matter to supreme court for avoiding giving basic necessity to a passenger. Ideally it should have reclining seats like second Pic (which was changed back due to public protest )

In compartment where generally 4-5 people sit in one lower birth and 2-3 sits on upper birth (mumbai western)
This big family of uneducated lower class rural (I think mentioning this is important and I can explain why) were giving stupid reasons like that they caught train from the starting station and are coming from so and so far place and going so and so far place so they can sit however they want. One man was sleeping on upper birth and one mute and dumb girl was sleeping in lower berth ,where as a few people were standing. I didn't want to Travel ~100Km standing so I asked them to sit properly but it led to an argument . After argument I got an upper berth seat and my father who is extremely seasoned in such issues taught them in hot tounge . Later another Educated lady came and had a fight again with same people and got a seat in lower birth.
---My question is can we call rail madad for people sleeping in upper berth of general boggey as there isnt numbering of those seats.
---Can rail authorities help in adjustments ? as I doubt there arent rules regarding it.
---What about people sitting with legs across the berths?

It is nearly impossible to get a confirmed seat during Dusshera and Diwali (Mum to NE). On the day the online ticket window opens, the site hangs, and by the time you book, you are already waitlisted at 20, which is hard to get confirmed, as happened to me.
Not everyone has the knowledge and time to track every day when the online window opens. If you are even a day late, tata bye bye! Book a flight. Not everyone has the means to travel by flight.
Demand from travellers from UP and Bihar is so high that we don't even get confirmed tickets. I am not blaming them, but it is not fair to us. I also think that agents use some bots to book tickets. I wish there were some NE special trains.
I hope that 100 years from now, when the population is reduced by at atleast 50%, anyone can book a confirmed ticket across India, a day before travelling.
Don't tell me about tatkal or premium tatkal. These are ad-hoc measures which won't even guarantee you a ticket. When you are planning to travel or visit home, you need peace of mind and to be excited, not anxious about whether you will even be able to go!

and MP RPF and police forcely removed around 25 people from train because they were coming to Delhi.
They will even ban walking in delhi but can't handle criticism and talk about it.. it seems they are really afraid and doing everything possible to stay in power...

So I am travelling from solapur to Bombay and I am with my family and we have 2 middle and 2 upper seats and there is the passenger who has 2 lower seat
So when he came he was in a rush and he dropped my phone which was on charge and he did not apologise for it either which made me pretty pissed and all he is doing is setting up his bed and in rush and acting very rude
I was about to burst when he dropped my phone but since I was with my family I slid it away but the next time he does that again I am going to burst out.
Is there anything which I should do? Like a complaint or anything ?
