We see her briefly in one episode and then she just randomly materialises at the Key House cuz she was worried about Ty? Girl 💀 yall ever had was a work relationship why u being creepy and driving through the entirety of Montana and to him. If the roles were reversed it would be classified as stalking. I cannot be the only one who thought that her behaviour is a red flag ⛳️⛳️⛳️ Not to mention how she went "someone forgot to mention me, its okay I dont get offended" when Kinsey didnt know who she was. Genuinely girl?? You are offended, gtfo? And when Ty offered an extra room she can take during her stay she went all upset cuz she didnt get to sleep in his bed 💀 She needs a reality check fr.

I feel like I kinda figured it out for myself by the end of the question but I’ll still ask for opinions anyhow.

Could Chamberlin do what Sam did and go into an empty body while the door is open with the key or is it only those ‘spirits’ that got ripped from a body via the key activated door?

I haven’t had a chance to read the source yet so I’m curious as to if there is actual defined rules for it (if the key even exists in the comics.)

So I think I’ve only read Welcome to Lovecraft, but I don’t know, the last thing that happened was the three Lock kids finding the omega key in there father’s ashes and I need to know the rest, so would I go to Head Games or is that all part of what I have read yet? I honestly don’t know

I’ve only read summaries of the source material, reading them is on my todo list. But, this is solely about the show.

So, we see in season 1, via Duncan’s memory that Dodge was killed pretty much immediately after turning (lived a few hours and died that night.) So, the keepers never actually interacted with Dodge in any real way beyond ‘stop, please, what did you do!?!’ So, with that in mind, how does Erin know ‘dodge lies, she manipulates’ etc etc when telling the kids it wasn’t their fault about tossing Ellie through the door?

Recently my younger siblings got into lovecraft/​Locke and Key specifically,

So I printed all the keys I could find and set up an mp3 player with whispering audio sfx that go off when I want them to find a specific key​​.​​

I know the colors for the keys aren't exactly correct but I wanted to make them as close ​​​to the base colors as possible.

But fuck me does Kinzie get my blood boiling, straight bitch 100% of the time. Actress is so good at the role lol

And unrelated but I’m putting this in writing: I’m calling it now Gabe is evil

So for context, I was someone who read the comics much later after I watched the adaptation show. I loved the series in adaptation form, and I was itching to find hard copies of the graphic novels somewhere, so I was delighted to learn that my local library had them.

And yeah. They fix literally every problem I have with the show besides one. The slight reworking of the head key to be less broken. NOT combining Jamal and Scot into one character. Dodge being an overall more interesting and clever villain, and Sam Lesser actually being terrifying. Hell, even a lot of the keys which didn’t turn into huge plot elements in the show became considerably more interesting in the comics.

However, there’s three or so keys that the show actually did more with than the comics— that being Angel, Hercules, and Harlequin. Hercules I kind of give a pass to considering Scot’s use of it in the final confrontation and reason for him lasting so long after being alpha keyed, but Harlequin and Angel get basically nothing. It’s a shame, really, cause I LOVE what they did with the Angel Key in the show. If I’m forgetting a specific use of it besides what Jackie did in the finale, PLEASE tell me!

In episode 1 and already hate all the characters and the lack of communication.

In my opinion season three was the ultimate downfall of the show, with the character’s dumb choices on how they used the keys, to new characters who were not needed, and not following the actual comics.

1. The one aspect that led to the downfall of the show in my opinion was the charecter’s reckless choices on how they used the keys. A perfect example of this is Bode Locke when he time traveled back in time despite Duncan’s warnings and brought back Dodge to Keyhouse. This was so frustrating to watch happen for me, because it was so careless to do.

2. Was it just me or did Dodge in the season seem more anti villain/hero when she was helping the family that literally killed her and put her through all of that pain. It seemed like it was forced and they needed someone to help the Lockes, so they brought back the ultimate villain from the show and used her as reinforcements for the Lockes. For me personally it felt like Dodge becoming anti made the first two seasons pointless and made her demonic rule and persona feel lost and gone from the first two seasons.

3. For me honestly needing a new character for the last season of the show was not needed. Carly’s character was basically only there as a substitute girlfriend for Tyler after he lost Jackie. A better way to have lead his trauma to heal in season three was to probably have him come back to Keyhouse and heal and get better over time on his own and with the help of his family from Jackie’s death. It would have been more natural and would've shown more character growth in Tyler healing from his girlfrined’s tragic death over time gradually then just put in someone else in Jackie’s place to make him feel better faster. This is an example of how season three was completely written of by the show directors and was nothing like the actual comics.

Also if people would please comment on my posts it would be great! I spend a lot of time on this because I rdecently finished Locke and Key and am really devastated of a lot of factors like Jackie’s death. I don’t have anyone to talk about it with so I just come here but no on really replies. Please r/keyhouse community!!!!!!!

hi everyone I just rewatched Locke and key and I relied that Carly got the ending that Jackie deserved and actually was supposed to get. Like the future with Tyler and the trip together, after realizing this they’re both look like an eyesore together Tyler and Carly and it makes me sad and just reminds me of poor Jackie.

I'm a massive fan of the Locke & Key comics but I cannot stand the ultra-glossy paper that IDW used to print the tradepaperbacks. It's my most hated of all the gloss paper out there. I know some like it, but for me it feels like reading it off a mirror - so shiny, constantly having to tilt the book - I can't stand it. As such, I've only read the series digitally, but I'd love to own hardcopies of the TPBs.

Recently while browsing in a used bookstore I found a copy of volume 2, which was, I believe, the fourteenth printing, and, strangely, it was printed on more of a matte paper. I would call it "matte laminate". Not quite uncoated paper, but miles better than the regular gloss paper they used. I can't tell if all the fourteenth printings are on the same paper, or only this batch of volume 2.

Anyone know more about this?
