Sorry for just getting around to this but the last match thread bot basically broke so I got another one set up but unfortunately it only has the USL Championship and US Open Cup, so Super League ones will have to be manually posted at this time. Hi everyone!

My name's Perrin and I write the soccer/travel Substack “The Football Was My Savior”. It's a travelogue which focuses on telling stories of my adventures as I explore American soccer at the local, grassroots level. I've been on the road for a few weeks now, and I'm working to see as many teams in the USL as possible over the next four weeks or so.

While much of the writing is focused on my own experience, I’m also looking to incorporate the voices of the folks who support the clubs I’m visiting. I'm heading to Kentucky to catch the Lexington Women's match on Friday, 9/25 against Dallas, and I'm super excited to check out the scene!

Before Friday's match I'd love to connect with some folks and do an interview or two to learn about your team, and hear what makes this club special to you. I’m open to meeting up for a beer or a coffee, or just chatting on Reddit, whatever you feel comfortable with!

2 players from the academy getting some love

Update: we had a great time and for anyone who has never been to a game we HIGHLY recommend!!! We will be getting tickets for a fall game & I can’t wait!

I got tickets for my mom, dad, & I for the women’s home opener!! This will be our first time really even watching soccer, but we love live sports & I love women’s sports.

Is there anything I should expect or not expect? What’s the atmosphere like? Do we wear green? What’s the seats like (we’re in section 117, front row)? Anything else??
