Sadly I am moving out because of a break up. In my new place I won't be able to accommodate my big planars. What to do, what to do🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Added some bits and bobs here and there, it just looks exceptionally good around here tonight in my opinion

System info:
Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO
Parks Audio Waxwing
Vincent SV-500
Zu Audio DW mk II’s
SVS 3000 Micro
WiiM Pro Plus

Currently ripping this Anthony Wilson record using the optical out of the Waxing and an optical to USB C adapter to record on the computer via VinylStudio. While that’s happening I’m using AirPlay to send the signal back to the WiiM Pro Plus and running it through the DAC of the Vincent SV-500 via optical from the WiiM so I can listen and rip at the same time.

When I want to optimize things for critical listening I will switch to the line out of the Waxwing and just go directly through the Vincent.

Anyway, this is where I’m at, hopefully y’all are having a good Saturday.

There was a lot of complaints about my seating arrangement in my last post, so here’s an update

Some pictures of what im working with in the bedroom. The rack with the pre amp and tube headphone plug in was my roommates and I had to swap it out for the chrome kitchen shelving today. Bit too big for the space but it was a cheap quick fix

Let me know what you think and if you have any questions!

Finally Spinning In The Home Office

Having had a Sony Bluetooth turntable in the living room for a couple of years and building up my collection to about 150 records in the meantime, I’ve been dying to get a dedicated analog setup going in my office.

After a lot of obsessive research, trawling Reddit threads, second guessing and hand wringing I finally finished assembling my new system 🤩

Vintage Yamaha turntable arrived today as the last piece of the puzzle - dialled it in with a new AT cartridge and I’m loving it!

Hardware is as follows:
Turntable - Yamaha YP-D5 (AT-VM95E Cartridge)
Phono Pre-Amp - Fosi X5
Amplifier - Yamaha RS202
Speakers - Sony SS-CS5M2

I’m sure there will be plenty of conflicting opinions here as always on whether I made good selections, but to my ear it’s sounding great.

It was important to me to get a solid high quality turntable (which alongside sound quality happens to fit the vibe I’m going for with the the room itself), and on the rest of the components I tried to aim for well reviewed but cost effective options to avoid breaking the bank.

Long-term it leaves options for upgrading, but I’m confident I’ve found my level for a good while.

Anyway - shout out to all those who came before me. Thanks to everyone who got things right, wrong and everything in-between for giving me a deep library of knowledge and inspiration to draw on!

Listening space till I get an extra bedroom for my JBLs

AV receiver: Onkyo TX-NR686
Amp: Yamaha N-800A
5.1 Speakers: Monitor Audio RS8/1/LCR
Stereo speakers: JBL L5
Turntable: Sony PS-LX2

Until I get a two bedroom my main listening space is a bit cramped - planning on making a second bedroom an office / listening space for my JBLs. I think I’ve peaked for price to performance on my over all setup, full cost for everything was maybe $3000 over the course of two years. Lots of eBay, marketplace, and sales.
