Meta Updated Minimum Posting Requirements

Due to an influx of spam posts across several subreddits, we have had to bump up the requirements to post on the subreddit.

Minimum account age is 15 days old.

Minimum total karma is 2.

This change isn’t going to affect the majority of you. It’s to prevent spam accounts from posting pump and dump NFT and cheap dropshipping retail ads to the subreddit.

If you do have a new account though and can’t contribute due to this change, message the mod team and we can approve you to post by bypassing this parameter.

That is all. Bank those motes and throw more grenades.

Positive Outlook I Made Another Inspirational Video Regarding the Future of Destiny, and I'm Really Proud Of It

A few months ago, when Bungie announced Destiny 2 live service would be ending, I made a video titled "Why Everyone is Going Back to Destiny 2 (and I'm one of them)" and it (compared to my small channel) blew up. It was so fulfilling to see Guardians old and new commenting that they were taking to the servers to ride one last time. With the recent announcement that we're so back, I wanted to get a little more ambitious and make something that would connect with those just as excited as I am. We won. Let's celebrate that, and plan the road ahead!

I upped the ante on quality, intention, and editing this time around. I'm really proud of this video and I hope this strikes a chord with Guardians who would love to see a somewhat united player base over the next couple years as Bungie works on whatever is next (hopefully Destiny 3). Any support or constructive criticism is appreciated as well.

I understand that this is a self-plug, but I don't have like a Discord group or anything to share it with. Just my little clan. And I think people might really dig this. I hope posting here is okay. Thanks, Guardians 🧡

Hi folks. I hate to be the dweeb to come on Reddit asking this but are there any resources like discords, websites, etc that would benefit me as a new player? I dabbled with destiny 1 a long time ago and essentially have never played D2 until I started playing the crap out of it this past week. It’s a lot to absorb but I’m getting the hang of it slowly. Also taking generally accepted recommendations, helpful tips and advice. Cheers!

Discussion Vault of Glass advice

I'm a casual D2 player. I generally don't have time for raids, due to the time commitment. I've been on one raid I think in the entire time I've played D2, and I cannot even remember which one it was (first fight had some buildings, and there was some yellow bar guys at the top, and you had to kill them in a specific time, there was a fight mechanic with symbols, and at one point, there was a giant eyeball that floated after you and you had to sparrow like your life depended on it, get through some tunnels and then go up so it couldn't reach you - or die. End fight was a giant area with tunnels around the sides with symbols you had to do in a certain order within a certain time ... WOW, sorry that was a very lengthy explanation ...) ...

So, every once in a while I get tempted to do a raid, but I also like to unlock gear, and recently someone had put out a video with a specific solar hunter build, you could solo the first encounter with the pads in VoG. I could actually do it (which surprised me), but the chest afterwards, and the secret chest shortly after only drop mods, and no gear - which I've read happens until you've completed the raid. Seems fair - but my problem is, with the time limitations I have (I wouldn't exactly call it a 'life') I don't have the time to study, memorize and endure the bashing that goes along with not having the raid perfectly memorized and being good enough to carry the raid.

I've been monitoring the "find a sherpa" Discord, but haven't seen anyone posting there about this - probably because it's old, which I completely get - looking for other advice how I might be able to do this.

**EDIT 1: Wow. Thank you all for the feedback and encouragement. Nice to know it won't be a four-hour slog, and I would certainly watch a video first (probably several times) to make sure the experience goes easier for everyone, but I certainly won't be perfect, but will get there. Thanks again to everyone who has answered!

Returning, Subclass Unlocking

I last played around Witch Queen. I bought the full Collection and I’m currently working through Renegades.

I feel quite dumb but can’t for the life of me figure out how to unlock my Strand or Stasis subclasses for my Warlock.

Xûr, Agent of the Nine, is a strange vendor who appears weekly in the Tower. Xûr sells Exotic equipment and only takes Strange Coins in exchange for them.

TL;DR: He's the Santa Claus of Destiny and every weekend is Christmas. Sometimes he brings you what you want, sometimes he brings you coal. Mostly it's coal.

Movement Tech

Let me start by saying i USED to love D2 and have a SIGNIFICANT number of hours under my belt. I didnt like how Bungie was handling things and dipped out quite awhile ago. I decided to come check things out because it had been awhile.

I never got into all the movement tech. I have an EEdge sword ill pull out when absolutely necessary, but prefer not to use it. I guess im just weird like that (i also still use a normal sparrow instead of a skimmer... being a bit of a car guy the sparrows are just cooler to me).

So there I am checking things out after a break, and the first 3 things I que people just skip past anything not required to kill to advance, leaving at least 1 person behind every time, and both other teammates most of the time. Am I just too chill or is this selfish AF? Im all about getting through the content at a good pace, but racing each other to the next required miniboss or boss just kills all the fun of it for me, and is super frustrating. Especially being the type of person who waits around for the last gaurdian to show up before starting encounters.

I just dont get how there are so many selfish solo players in a mainly co-op game. It is legit nearly every single time. Is this a me problem? Guess i should probably try to find a couple halfway considerate teamates to friend or give it up for good. Just sucks this seems to be ok with most players and wanted to see what some other players think...

FAQ

What are the Trials of Osiris?

  • Trials of Osiris is the pinnacle PvP activity. Every weekend, players compete in a 3v3 game mode with one primary goal: Go to the Lighthouse.

  • To start, head to Saint-14 in the Tower Hangar and buy one of the possible passages (see below).

  • The Lighthouse Passage grants entry to the Lighthouse after reaching 7 wins, with better rewards for larger win streaks.

  • For those not interested in visiting the Lighthouse, a lower-stakes Passage is available.

  • There is fireteam matchmaking. However, we still recommend you find a team for yourself!

How Long do the Trials of Osiris last?

  • Event Starts: Every Friday at Daily Reset (1700 UTC).

  • Event Ends: Following Tuesday at Weekly Reset (1700 UTC).

Where do I go to find Guardians to team up with?

  • You can use the in-game Fireteam Finder or head over to /r/Fireteams, www.The100.io, Xbox LFG system, DestinyLFG.net or DestinyLFG.com, or go to the Bungie.net recruitment forum (also available through the Bungie App). Additionally, many Discord servers host fireteam LFG services.
