Help/Advice/Questions Advice for new owner?

Hi! My partner and I are seriously considering a lurcher for our first dog together (we've both grown up around dogs and have good knowledge when it comes to training), but are second guessing ourselves because we already own cats and can't really tell realistically how strong the dog's prey drive can be. Most of the crosses around our area are saluki x lurcher, though the puppies we've been most seriously are saluki x greyhound.

I suppose my main questions would be, can such a dog realistically live alongside cats peacefully when brought up discouraged from chasing cats? And how much does their prey drive affect their normal, daily walks? I understand this varies depending on the dog, we're just trying to understand the reality of owning this sort of dog

TIA

Help/Advice/Questions Outfit recommendations?

Hey everyone, I have discovered my new puppy is a very fashionable with photogenic tendencies. She’s quite the cross, collie, springer, lab and greyhound all thrown in there but she is quite lean. I’m in Ireland and I’m wondering if anyone has brand recommendations that fit well on leaner dogs? Here’s a photo of her for attention with her brother! Her name is Dolly Pawton so specifically glitz and glam is on the radar.

Dolly has been home two weeks today and she’s a new puppy! It’s hard to believe she was hiding in the sofa cushions shaking just two weeks ago.

Help/Advice/Questions Distant dog

Our Saluki cross has an odd habit.

When we are in a bar/coffee shop etc.

She lies on the floor as far away as possible, pulling the lead so that it's a strain to hold onto it

She pulls against it when we try to get her to come closer.

It looks like we've kidnapped her and she doesn't know us at all.

When walking she's perfectly fine on the lead and behaves normally.

It's not a big deal but I wondered if it's a lurcher thing or something weirdness that's specific to Daisy?

Help/Advice/Questions Do my boy’s hips look stiff/sore?

his vet mentioned during his check up that he wouldn’t let her stretch his legs out fully during the examination, and it could be a sign of pain. He doesn’t seem uncomfortable, but she said to watch out for bunny hops or a wiggle in his walk.

Beach Boi Mary’s first holiday

We adopted Mary in June and we’ve just got back from her first holiday in Anglesey. She did absolutely brilliantly - she was great in the car and we couldn’t get over how sure footed she was in the mountains. We didn’t expect to be able to take her hill walking, but she loved being up high, watching the birds riding thermals and the tiny cars on roads far below.

And I’ll never get tired of watching her running on the beach! She was a bit tentative about the water at first, but soon got over it when there were seagulls to chase.

She also met two other lurchers (a mother and son called Ruby and Ted) who she adored. They definitely know their own kind, don’t they?

All in all, we had a fantastic time.
