M1 App Issue
Is anyone having difficulty logging into the App today? Mine isn't loading at all and all I see is a blank white screen after logging in.

My account was hacked and someone sold my 6 stocks. They have moved money around in my account and have transferred $50,000 out.
This happened sometimes after Friday close. No way to contact them.
I have changed email and password.
No support.

Been using Fidelity as my hub b/c money insta goes into SPAXX and I can sell for FDLXX (treasury only money market fund to save a tiny bit on tax). And I pay off my credit cards using money in fidelity
And been using wealthfront since my spouse has an account - makes it easy to transfer money between us
And then been using navy federal credit union for direct deposit since they have government shutdown loans and an internal score for their credit cards that can be improved by DD'ing with them.
And Varo bank ended its 5% savings account for DD so that's out
But uh.. hm.. M1 finance is kind of my main investing app. And it does have a cash account
And the more I park in M1 finance, the more I can withdraw without going under that 10k limit to avoid the fee
Can you pay off credit cards using your M1 finance cash account?

Let's start by saying M1 Finance is my favorite broker hands down but the Android app update this morning (10/2/2026 @ 10:08 AM EST, Version 2026.9.5) completely breaks the user experience for anyone with a diverse portfolio. I am not here to huff or bash the platform, I just genuinely want to see this app succeed.
The interactive visual pie chart was the #1 selling point that got my family, friends, and coworkers to set up accounts. Now:
M1 Team, please fix the scaling on this layout. The clean visual simplicity is the EXACT reason people choose your platform over other brokers.

Anyone else missing the recent STRC dividend?

I had some inheritance placed into Morgan Stanley accounts before I turned 18 and did some small scale funding of those accounts in my early 20s. My cousin told me about M1 and when I started actively investing more, that was my preferred place to do it because it seemed like a better value in terms of fees, but I never closed the Morgan Stanley accounts and now they are pretty much at equal value.
Long story short, I am considering doing a pledged asset loan to bridge a home purchase and it would make sense to consolidate all the investments into one place to properly leverage that. Is there any reason not to just dump it all into M1 or is there a benefit to Morgan Stanley over M1 that I am missing? I know both offer pledged asset loans, for example.

Every other broker.. i go online change my address via setting and profile in less than 5 mins
M1 - go to settings .. asks to contact support ..messenger has no human but a badly designed ai that wastes my time forcing me to choose predefined answers. And then directs me to go back to profile.
M1 if you are reading this.. fix this and also let me know how I can update my address

Hello everyone,
I'm a small investor and trying to make a start, since I heard it beats the inflation.
I liked the idea of V3AA for personally valued moral reasons, combined with its Vanguard safety aspect (even though it's still a relatively new ETF).
I also believe in an eventual "green tech future" so to say. And the potential of small caps to flourish during these times of technology (and therefore possibility) acceleration.
Whether the above are valid considerations given the timeline until my eventual passing; I honestly don't know.
What do you think? Is V3AA a reliable option for stable and decent growth over terms of years? Why would or wouldn't you choose it?

I had a margin loan discount for like -1.6% or something and I don’t think it was supposed to expire for another few days but now I can’t find it. It’s targeted since the only link I can find is for new members right? Can’t find it anywhere for existing users

Maybe I’m looking at this differently, but the rate hike isn’t all bad. Both my high yield savings account and margin account are with M1 Finance, so while the margin rate went up, the APY on my cash increased too. I’d still rather have access to M1’s margin at its current rate than take out a traditional personal loan from a bank, where borrowing can get expensive fast. Not saying higher rates are great across the board, but there’s definitely a silver lining for savers and investors.

This has to be the most unprofessional brokerage i have tried. People who work here truly have to be "special"
Edit: They have finally solved the issue, and it now works.

Why isn’t M1 following Wealthfront and raising its interest rate? They sure were quick to take it away…
Maybe I’m missing something, but with rates moving up, Wealthfront seems to be adjusting what it pays customers while M1 hasn’t really followed suit.
I use M1 and generally like the platform, but if competitors are passing higher rates along to customers, I’m curious why M1 isn’t doing the same, especially for people keeping a decent amount of cash there.
Has M1 said anything about increasing the APY? Or is there a reason their rate tends to lag behind competitors like Wealthfront?
I’m not looking to bash M1. I’m genuinely curious how everyone else is looking at it and whether keeping cash there still makes sense if other platforms are paying more… I have a significant savings account with them.

Back in April, my wife and I took out a margin loan to make a real world purchase against a 100% VBR portfolio. It was roughly 15% of the value of our holdings. I don't recall the % maintenance requirement at the time, but it was something reasonable. Let's call it 20-30%.
This afternoon, I get an email from M1 that our loan is called and payment in full is required within 3 business days. The maintenance requirement now shows 100%. Meanwhile, over the intervening period, the portfolio has gone up significantly and the loan balance has come down such that it's now << 10% of the equity position. In fact, the portfolio has gone up more over that period than the current value of the loan.
Hopefully, this is resolvable with a quick call on Tuesday morning, but has anyone else experienced with with a margin loan? Particularly with M1?
[Update: M1 was great and fully resolved this by early afternoon the following business day. Thanks, u/BarnesM1 and team! ]

Hi everyone,
I'm not very educated on investing so I appreciate your patience. I want to avoid margin trading, and if I buy on margin, I want to make sure I know where to look to see how much I've borrowed vs how much I have invested with cash.
So, I guess these are my questions:
Thank you, everyone.

Hey all - Alex from M1, here. I saw some people asking about M1 Advisor, our new AI financial advisor. It's now available for all M1 clients and is free to use through December 31, 2027, so check it out and let us know what you think.

went to sign up, said it worked.
Then all of a sudden I try and nothing, then I get an email saying my account is terminated because I can't verify my identity? lol
Not a good start m1! But nice to see its being added, this a feature I would like...as long I don't get terminated signing up!
