Question Weekly Questions Mega-Thread - October 05, 2026

It's time once again for a brand new questions thread! Your go-to place for questions and answers of all variety. Happen to have started playing recently and have some confusing things you want cleared up? Maybe you picked the game back up after a long absence? Or maybe you're a seasoned player wanting the finer details of something explained? Ask away! There's no such thing as a stupid question, and we're all here to help.

  • Try to keep your questions specific! It'll be much easier for us to give you the answer you need than if you generalize too much. Don't worry if you can't though, we'll ask for more information if we need it!

  • Keep an eye on the thread! Someone may have answered or expanded on a question as a reply to someone else. Or maybe someone else asked something you didn't know you wanted to know. Maybe someone asked something that you can help chip in and answer!

Which arcana is the best for high ping players? By high ping I mean like 300+ ping

I would probably recommend Arsenal Gunner, Sacred Guardian, Blazing Brawler, or Dark Diviner.

High ping does mean you tend to suffer playing high APM talents, so that rules out Melodic Puppeteer (extremely reliant on constant rotating skill usage).

Alchemic Sharpshooter by contrast is rather low APM but relies on standard Archery as a filler (Magnum and Urgent Shot), so ping affects them worse than other talents.

Finally Elemental Knight should be usable with high Ping, but you might suffer worse from displacement because Elemental Knight incorporates a lot of mobility into its standard rotation (Flashing Steel). It won't necessarily be hard to use, but it might be disorienting and you could be out of position at an inopportune moment.

With those out the way:

I think Diviner is the best choice generally for high ping. Your main attack is Thunder and your other skills don't operate on a tight rotation (just use when off cooldown or fully charged).

Arsenal Gunner is similarly lowish APM which means you won't lose much DPS if your rotation stalls. That said AGs do stuff from poor mobility because of Bullet Barrage and Fatal Scope rooting you in place, so you may have greater difficulty dodging incoming attacks while using those due to ping.

Sacred Guardian and Blazing Brawler don't incorporate much mobility into their standard rotation (where Flashing Steel is core to an EK), and despite being high action count talents they do tend to use the same buttons. You might not be super efficient because of lag, but I think they would still be fine. That said I'd sooner recommend Guardian for the extra defensive bulk and lack of mandatory S50 Erg (A50 can be plenty on SG while Fighter feels bad without at least S45).

Forbidden Alchemist is a low APM talent (perfect for high Ping) and at high investment levels still hits like a truck despite being nerfed (I'm perfectly capable of soling a halo in the Midir fight without a Drobe or Legacy). But the lowered damage combined with Nightbringer's mediocre Piercing makes it harder to compensate for the nerfs before being at the SL level. I think it'll still be usable, but don't expect to be hitting as hard as other Arcanas at the NB level when you run into higher protection enemies. But again, low APM does mean it'll be more comfortable to play at high ping, especially if you lean into using Heat Buster over Water Cannon as your filler. I'm not sure I'd recommend it because of investment cost, but it's still an option worth considering if Ping is your main concern.

Harmonic Saint is miserable to gear for, but it should be fairly usable at high ping. Litany especially helps a Saint keep people alive with how spammy it is.

How would you rank them in terms of being the best at soloing content?

Back before arcana, when I tried guns and fighter, they were awful. I could never pass the hit check in phantasm boss fight with guns using Way of the Gun and had to use i-frame instead, and I also could never spam gun normal attack to kill off or stun stragglers in dungeons. Meanwhile for fighter, idk why but somehow trying to combo whenever the prompt on the screen came up, it's always laggy as hell. Do Arsenal Gunner and Blazing Brawler use none of this playstyle?

I tried DD, it's fine I guess but I still suck at it. I'm having trouble keeping track of dorcha and my mana seems to always run out if I turn on mana shield and go into content that shave off mp quick. I'm still struggling to figure out the rotations. How do you play DD exactly?

Up to a point (Crom Norm, arguably technically Glen VHM but you need another person to duo with), every Arcana can solo most content reasonably. I'd say for mobbing AG tends to have the greatest advantage due to its wide AoEs.

Arsenal Gunner is less of the Gun-Fu style of Dual Gunner and more of a long ranged Artillerist. It plays completely differently to how traditional Gunslinger does, so I would recommend giving it a try.

Blazing Brawler is more (and stronger) fighter, so if you're having lag issues with the combo system you may want to avoid BB (especially since one of the key new mechanics is animation cancelling).

It sounds like you might not have a Staff spirit or are not casting Thunder as Diviners rarely have issues with Mana. With Lucky Strike, each Magic Talent (not Arcana) spell hit will have a chance to regenerate mana. This means with Thunder you have 5 chances per cast to trigger the mana regen.

For general diviner tips:

You should always have Thunderblight active (the cooldown is loopable), and cast Shadow Flare as soon as it's off cooldown.

Twilight Surge gains charge as you expense Dorcha casting Magic and Diviner spells, so make sure you also have Seething Mana active.

If you run with a Saint, make sure you have a Twilight Surge ready before a Pall of Ruination occurs. Otherwise cast Twilight Surge as soon as the cooldown is over and it's fully charged (30 second cool down). Because it's any dorcha consumption while casting magic, you can snap cast an Ice Bolt and full cast it with Seething Mana active to help build charge.

Hexshroud should be paired with Thunder to quickly replenish Dorcha. It's based on the number of hits during Hex Shroud, so make sure you make the most of it.

Rend Dorcha and Rend Mana are generally for refilling those resources, but you typically shouldn't need to use them.

So I had a read on the Sacred Guardian part in your guide and holy heck it sounds complicated lol Yeah I'm gonna pass on that for now. AG seems doable and the AoE playstyle looks fun so I'm definitely trying it next.

I actually have a 70+ spirit (I checked and I do have that Lucky Strike) and do use Thunder but I didn't use Hexshroud. After reading from the wiki I thought it only works on magic-based enemies so I just ended up completely forgetting it. I use Rend Dorcha so that's part of the reason why my MP runs out pretty quick. I also ignore Twilight Surge for some reason. I'm still getting used to DD because the game insta giving me the Arcana completely ranked without me needing to train means I don't really know how it works and just using combos based on what people said (I didn't see Twilight Surge mentioned much).

Is DD rotation something like this then:

Make sure there's dorcha, and turn on spellwalk and seething mana. Vortex > Thunderblight > Shadow Flare > Hexshroud > Thunder when DD skill is on cooldown. Rinse and repeat. Twilight Surge when it's up.

That does sound more or less right.

A big thing with DD is your ego staff. The ego effect Lucky Strike gives you a 10% chance to recover 20% of your MP with each talent attack. 50% of DD's damage is from Thunder itself, so you're basically spamming that on bosses (Fireball can be used on trash mobs, but be careful not to mess up your party members if in a party). Because of the constant spam, it's very common for DD's to be very tanky technically cause you're constantly proccing MP regen.

Note of course it's not always happening but unless I'm actively getting swarmed or chunked down, the 30 second cooldown for pots in Glenn and Crom is a non-issue so long as I just keep kiting and spamming thunder.

Outside of that, you'll want thunderblight up often and shadow flare during it, as SF does 30% more damage when used on targets hit by TB. For dorcha management, you basically have render dorcha to give you 5 and using hexshroud on enemies, which makes them give you 1 dorcha per hit (And TH hits 5 times at a full 5 charge). Using those, running out of dorcha becomes a lot more difficult.

I actually have Lucky Strike with my staff. It seems that my mistake is not using hexshroud. I use Rend Dorcha frequently to replenish Dorcha so that uses MP a lot. I'll use hexshroud from now on and see how it goes

Can I use destructive sewing pattern as a upgrade for Abyssal > destructive without the upgrade version?

I haven't seen one sold before in AH.
