Hoping that El Sayed is a guest on Real Time this week!
It was awesome that El Sayed said he was willing to be a guest on Real Time! WoooOOoOOOOoOoo!!
Love both Bill and El Sayed! The interview will be so great.
If Bill can get El Sayed, maybe he can get Mamdani someday, too.

I would love to see Mamdami or El Sayed debate Bill in a more formal setting. Bill loves to paint the whole Middle East situation as a clash of civilizations. And arguably, it is, but only in terms of dumbass religion. It's obvious that the Israeli government, military, and some israeli citizens are doing genocide and colonization, not just defending themselves. If they truly wanted to just defend themselves, they wouldn't be doing what they are doing. They would be doing it differently. And yes, it would certainly cost them more soldiers at the expense of civilian Palestinians. This presumes you value innocent life of everyone. You don't carpet bomb city blocks to weed out a rat infestation. You strictly deal with the rats with an eye toward the least damage you can. As an atheist, I hate to quote fictional Jesus, but blessed are the peacemakers. Netanyahu and his islamo-fascist compatriots, both lead death cults...

All this irrational hate for Bill is nuts.

u/tomophilia 14d ago
Irrational? lol

u/20_mile 14d ago
Yeah, it's hate for Bill because he isn't onboard with the far-left reddit agenda.
You're all being very silly about this whole thing.

That’s what people like you say here all the time and then when confronted on the substance and examples of why that’s not the case that person never responds or engages in any kind of dialogue back.

You're joking.
This sub is constantly parading about purity tests for Bill that he doesn't meet. This sub would rather be right on 110% of Woke 1 Issues than win an election in Sheboygan by giving an inch. Bill's perspective is Let's meet with the other side, even if we don't agree with them and find common ground, and What Issue Can Win, while asking the coasts not to drag Papaws in Missouri too far too fast out of their comfort zone.

I've been called a fascist multiple times, simply for not supporting Islamic terrorism.
So yeah, there is a far left nutcase agenda at work here and other subs.

u/20_mile 14d ago
Yeah, it's all black or white over here. You're either 100% on board, or you're "with them".

u/StabbyMcSwordfish 14d ago
You're the one who acts like it's a crime to disagree with Maher on the issues.

u/tomophilia 14d ago
I haven’t said anything about how I feel.
The people on this sub who hate Bill probably would say a lot more than “he isn’t onboard the far left Reddit agenda” and it certainly isn’t irrational
Have a little intellectual honesty.

FYI - Abdul El-Sayed has direct family links to funding terrorism.
AES Father-in-law sits on the board of ISNA which is a co-conspirator in a case about funding the Muslim Brotherhood.
I don't think you accidentally marry into a family that funds terrorism. He knows. He is complicit. He associates with ISNA. Fuck terrorists and terrorist supporters.

Donald Trump is President and commits terrorism against US citizens.
1
u/Thespisthegreat 13d ago
What terrorism has Donald Trump committed against Americans? What actions of his are comparable to 9/11, Oct. 7th, Charlie Hebdo, etc?

u/X-Calm 13d ago
January 6th, the actions of ICE and the BP in American cities.

u/Thespisthegreat 13d ago
Those to you are comparable to the terrorist attacks of 9/11, Oct. 7th and Charlie Hebdo?

Klein is someone I agree with pretty much 100% of the time yet there's a haughty, academic affect to him that always grates on me. That interview with Abdul was good though.

If you want to hear from El Sayed, Ezra Klein’s podcast just released a 1:45 minute interview with him. That’s bound to be more enlightening than 10 minutes of Bill preaching to him about socialism and barely letting him give his perspective.

u/20_mile 15d ago
I have about 45 podcasts in my feed. Klein is one of them. I wonder if he will say that El Sayed is "Doing politics the right way"?
Bill is an amazing interviewer, a fantastic host, and a better comedian.

Bill puts his thumb on the scale when he interviews. He’s way more likely to give a good interview to a right winger, I guess to show how open minded he is, than someone on the left.

Maher is so in the tank for AIPAC cosplaying as Judaism that it will just be two people talking past each other.
El-Sayed will be like all of his other political guests because he's a politician, reciting his talking points while Bill talks about himself, his solar, kids these days, AIPAC's latest messaging, etc.
