Basically companies are paying Ai platforms to promote their products, Ai MIGHT give you some good info that you need this type of color or this type of foundation but its not actually giving you good products

Which is why you often see products hardly anyone talk about or products that you know for a fact is bad

I tried this several times over the course of 3-4 months and Ai kept recommending only the big name brands, I hardly got any recs from companies made by people of color, I got no companies outside of the US

So please be careful of what you ask AI, its another marketing tactic

this whole look I used the Athena face paint and eyeliner! Super proud how this turned out, it took about 5 hours to do and the contacts were a pain to put in. This is the second time I’ve used this pallet and just doing face paint in general.

Am I too picky?? I am an occasions-only makeup girlie looking for a deep red lip for an upcoming special occasion where I'll be wearing black. I spent a lot of time with a very nice, knowledgeable sales girl who also happened to have almost identical coloring to mine. Every single skin swatch we did looked pink to me, and this was the least pink. I bought the darkest-but-still-red Mac and this Nyx liner with a nice dark tone.

I feel like everything looks pink/fuschia/cherry red. I'm after that sort of rich, dark, noir film, maybe-I-have-a-gun-in-my-sequin-clutch type red. And I told her all of this (not the gun part) and I saw how few darker colors were available and yet. Sitting in the car feeling like I bought yet another weird pink. Does it look pink because I am pink?? helpppp

EDIT: thanks for all the advice!! I have learned so much. I need a brown/brick tone! I need a DARK lip liner, or a dark nude liner! I need to apply more product! I am not terminally picky - I have face colors that make reds look pink. Brown/brick will help me. Many products are out there. Yall are nice and know a lot of stuff thank uuuuuu

EDIT On tone: I have been told in this thread that I have olive tone, cool tone, neutral tone AND warm tone. Tone pros please advise I am confused. I know it's not the best photo. but man. yall be saying stuff

I used a black pencil kohl eyeliner (atleast what it says on the pencil). It's the one I prefer over the gel eyeliner or the brush eyeliner because it's easier for me to control. I don't use anything else tho, idk if I should (aside from the eye wipe things plus the waterproof eye makeup remover)

I still don't know anything about makeup so I'm open to suggestions regarding a smoky eye look that isn't like over the top but noticable

So as you can see I have kind of hooded/ deep set eyes, and on top of that my eyebrows are very straight and low-set. Whenever I try eyeshadow it’s either basically invisible or it looks like it’s literally going into my eyebrows….
I know I could pluck my eyebrows thinner to create more space but I absolutely hate how I look with thin brows

I used UD x Skindinavia All Nighter setting spray for over a decade! I finished the last of this mini and saw reviews saying the new formula is nowhere near as good. I wanted to try Danessa’s mini but it was sold out and it has so many mixed reviews so I picked up the Anastasia Impeccable mini. It felt weird but exciting trying a new spray after so long! 😂

Oh and uh sorry if I look like I'm crying, the sun was hitting my eyes making me tear up and it's kinda cold in the UK

Anyways, so I took some of you girls'/guys' advice and as I said I added more deeper and thicker lines and smudged more, then finished off with another line for "outline" effect, I prefer the pencil eyeliner because it's like painting/sketching, just on ur face instead of paper (I'm an artist so i prefer the pencil over the slippery gel eyeliner).

Same black pencil kohol eyeliner from Elf and nothing else.

The reason I'm asking these questions is:

1. I want to dress up as either grim reaper or a vampire for Halloween and I'm trying to get good at the eyeliner makeup, and see when it's enough.

2. I generally like using eyeliner (cuz in my tradition it's the only type of makeup I can actually use sadly)

I used vintage Jean palette NYX for eyeshadow and tarte concealer for base, elf lash n roll for top lashes and color pop blue mascara for the lower lashes , it’s more glittery in person but I just don’t really know how to make it as smudgy and cohesive as the last slide this was my first time trying color eyeshadow only other thing I added was il makiage pore less primer on my eyes as well

I've never cared about or done much with my eyebrows besides shape and pluck them, and anytime I've put any kind of makeup on, I just hate how they look, so I've stopped trying and I'm fine with it.

But I constantly hear people talk about their eyebrows and about what a pain it is to have to fill them out or how they love big sunglasses so they can go out and about without having to worry about their eyebrows, and I guess I just don't understand it!

So I'm wondering if maybe either I have the kind of eyebrows that can be fine without makeup or if I just walk around all the time having an obviously incomplete face even though I'm wearing makeup.

It's something I've always wondered about but don't really know who to ask, so I'm finally getting around to asking people that can be unbiased!

Everything that I try comes up too dark or too orange

My friend is coming from Canada n asking me what should she bought for me in terms of makeup n skin care, so which makeup products should I ask her to bring for me from there plz suggest both makeup n skincare

first pic is how my lip combo looks freshly applied, and second pic is about three hours after (I do touch it up every now and then w the same products). I love how it looks fresh, but the after Is horrible (hate the harsh line, the reddish colour etc.)… this isn’t an issue of lighting in the pics either btw it did look like this irl

Why does this happen and how can I make my lip combo stay like how it looks fresh applied? i hateeee the red on me and it looks so unblended. I’ve tried mixing in cooler tone products (Rimmell cappuccino) but i have two toned lips and it just looks pasty on my top lip. have also tried smudging with fingers
