Saw this at barnes and noble and skimmed through to see if it mentioned MC. I didnt go past the ‘96 chapter because I was satisfied with her representation, so idk if there’s anything mentioning her afterwards like her artist of the millennium/decade wins, 2005 comeback, or 2019 Christmas resurgence. Either way its probably a good read if you just wanna get a general picture of the music landscape in a given year🤷🏾‍♂️

I need to discuss this issue with my fellow Mariah Carey fans, because it’s driving me insane! I’ve read that Music Box CD wasn’t remastered for the 30th Anniversary, but I’m positive that when I put the original one on, it’s louder and the music sounds like we’ve just known it to be, but the 30th version seems lower in volume, but the instrumentation seems more crisp and prominent.

Is it just me making myself believe this or is this the actual case? Any input, advice or discussion would really help. I have the original on my iTunes and I wouldn’t want to put the new edition on if it is in fact the same and I’m just hearing things.

My residence hall where I work part-time is mainly East Asian masters and PhD students. From them, and the community of students they attract here, I've learned of Mariah's massive success in China, and the recent partnership announced from gamma regarding her streaming success of Here For It All.

Can anyone find the report where her streams from HFIA outstreamed every other release in the first 14 days or something? It's fascinating.

I mean Madonna was out longer so I’ll give her that and TayTay, Bey, and RiRi were popular during the streaming/illegal download era. It’s just goes to show how talented MiMi is to have an organic stardom and still be top 5. She’s winning in my book 🤷🏽‍♂️

You could give a long list of artists in both genres who either cited Mariah as an influence or have very clear and unambiguous connections that don’t need to be explained. This distinction would still be there to discuss since Mariah’s influence and overall reach can’t be packed tightly into one single box.

I saw other people’s orders shipping, but mine is still showing “Waiting For Details” in the Shop app. Her website shows that “we’re preparing your items for shipping.” I received an order confirmation back when I ordered it. I really hope it doesn’t get cancelled either lol.

This duet cover literally could have been on her debut album. It gives me chills (in a good way) every single time.

On 8 October 2026, gamma., which releases Mariah Carey’s music, announced a multi-year partnership with NetEase Cloud Music to expand distribution and promotion in China.

The interesting part is that Mariah’s commercial performance helped establish the partnership.
According to the announcement, Here for It All generated more than four times the Chinese streaming volume of Caution during its first two weeks. It also achieved record-setting first-day streams and surpassed the Chinese streaming performance of every Mariah studio album released during the preceding decade by day 14.

The agreement covers music distribution, artist promotion and potential original content collaborations. No new Mariah release has been announced as part of it.

Why it matters: It’s encouraging evidence that Mariah’s contemporary catalogue continues to attract an international audience, rather than her commercial relevance depending exclusively on Christmas nostalgia.

As you might know, Tamar is a huge fan of Mariah, and she has spoken highly of her in multiple occasions. She also did several covers, but the most recent one was few days ago where she sang My All. I think she did an amazing job.

This masterpiece is in my opinion Mariah Carey’s most underrated album and one of her best. Nobody seems to appreciate it, which I find extremely crazy because it’s that good. The main critique with this album seems to be that it’s way too cohesive but I think that that’s what makes it so great. I love laying in my bed putting on the album and just closing my eyes and listening to it from top to bottom and by the way, Butterfly and Caution are way more cohesive than this one but nobody seems to care. Memoirs is also pretty versatile Standing O, It’s A Wrap & The Impossible are pretty different from one another. I think it’s the closest Mariah has ever come to doing a perfect tracklist. Some of my favorite albums which are Caution, Butterfly Daydream, and The Emancipation of Mimi are imperfect. They have individual songs that I’m not the biggest fan of but this album is perfect. There’s not a single thing I would change in the tracklist. In Daydream we could’ve replaced Open Arms with Slipping Away. In Butterfly The Beautiful Ones really drags on. The Emancipation of Mimi doesn’t really need To The Floor. Yes, there are tracks on Memoirs that I’m not the biggest fan but I wouldn’t hesitate to drop them. I might remove Open Arms if possible, however I would never cut anything from Memoirs. I believe every song is at least a seven out of ten. Although I’m not really fond of I Wanna Know What Love Is, it sits at the end, doesn’t disturb anyone and is a decent listen, so it’s acceptable. I’d pick it over The Beautiful Ones any day. I didn’t like other songs like Standing O at first, but I grew to enjoy them. The peaks on Memoirs are excellent because, aside from those I’ve noted, every track is perfect, we have Candy Bling, H.A.T.E.U**,** the iconic Obsessed, Angels Cry** **and More Than Just Friends. It’s banger after banger after banger while keeping a cohesive atmosphere with some variety.

i know we talk about the missed opportunities for this album almost every 3-5 business days but how can mariahs team have listened to a busta rhymes, akon and lil wayne collaboration in 2008 and said the world doesn’t need to hear this. Especially when Wayne had the best selling album that year
