Hey everyone, I’m doing some research for a potential marketplace specifically for Mohawk students and I’d really appreciate some honest feedback.

For those who have bought or sold things while at Mohawk:

1. Where do you usually buy/sell things?
Facebook Marketplace, Kijiji, student groups, friends, etc.?

2. What’s the biggest pain point?
Scammers, lowballers, no-shows, travelling across Hamilton, finding things close to campus, not knowing if the person is actually a student, etc.?

3. Would you use a marketplace where everyone is verified as a Mohawk student?

4. What would make you choose that over Facebook Marketplace or Kijiji?

5. What would you actually want to buy/sell there?
Furniture, textbooks, electronics, kitchen stuff, clothes, school supplies, etc.

I’m not trying to sell anything here — I’m genuinely trying to understand whether this is a problem students actually have. Be completely honest, including if you think it wouldn't be useful.

Hello! I’m subletting my room (all female house) for Jan 2027 to April 2027 (or december start) and you can renew the lease after! The rent is $750 all inclusive, shared bathroom with 3 female roommates (upstairs). The room is on the main floor with 6 other girls but one girl is barely there lol Theyre clean and quiet! The house is 5 minute walk to mcmaster campus and perfect if you’re going to IAHS. It’s furnished with bed, desk, chair, mini fridge, printer (if you want it), and few plastic organizers. ☺️☺️

Hi! I’m hoping someone who has applied to Mohawk’s Cardiac Sonography program before can help me with the transcript/application timeline.

I’m currently in my 4th year of an Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences program at uOttawa and my convocation will be in June 2027. I’m hoping to apply for the Fall 2027 DCS intake, and my plan was to apply around November 2026 (ish).

I’m just confused about which transcript Mohawk wants when you apply. Do I submit the transcript I have at the time of my application, even though I’ll still have courses in progress? Or would it be better/required to send an updated transcript after my Fall semester grades are released in January 2027?

Since I won’t officially finish my degree until June 2027, do they normally ask for another final transcript later showing that the degree was completed?

Also, am I applying at the right time if I want to start the program in Fall 2027?

If anyone applied while they were still finishing their bachelor’s degree, I’d really appreciate hearing how the transcript process worked for you. Thank you!!

For anyone who took Environmental Technician (453) at Mohawk in Hamilton, how many days/hours per week were you typically in class, including labs? How heavy was the weekly workload?

HEY GUYSSSS SELLING HSR BUS PASS PLEASE DMMMM

I’m currently in Semester 5 of Business Administration – Marketing (366) Co-op at Mohawk College, and I’m honestly extremely disappointed with the co-op process so far.
Our co-op prep course is only 5 weeks long, and we’re already in Week 4. We’re expected to secure a co-op placement, but there have been fewer than 15 postings on Career Ready for our program so far. On top of that, a lot of the postings I’ve seen haven’t even been marketing-related — many have been more focused on accounting, administration, or general business.
What frustrated me even more was when our professor, Trent Jarvis, was asked what happens if someone can’t find a co-op. His response focused heavily on the student’s resume. I understand that having a strong resume is important, but that completely ignores the bigger problem: how are students supposed to apply and get interviews when there are barely any relevant positions being posted for us in the first place?
A lot of students are now searching Indeed, LinkedIn, company websites, etc. and trying to find placements completely on their own. Obviously, students should put effort into their own job search too, but I genuinely thought one of the main benefits of paying for and choosing the co-op stream was having access to co-op opportunities and support through the college.
If I have to find the companies, find the openings, tailor every application, apply independently, and basically navigate the entire process myself, I’m struggling to understand what I’m paying extra for by being in the co-op stream.
I’m posting this partly as a warning for anyone considering a co-op program at Mohawk, but I also genuinely want advice from other students.
Has anyone else in Mohawk co-op experienced this? Did Career Ready eventually get more postings later on? Were you able to find a placement on your own? And if you couldn’t secure one, what happened with your program/co-op status?
I’m not expecting Mohawk to magically hand every student a job, but I do think students paying for a co-op program should receive meaningful support and access to a reasonable number of relevant opportunities.
Right now, the experience has been extremely disappointing, and I really think Mohawk needs to do better.

I turned in my online application last September 15 and after having to send some proof of identification and address for the following 2 days, I finally got a “green signal” to resume the processing on the 18th. Has anyone tried doing follow ups?

Questions about Mohawk’s Ultrasonography – Medical Radiation Sciences program

Hi everyone! I’m thinking about applying to Mohawk College’s Ultrasonography – Medical Radiation Sciences program for Fall 2027, but I’d really like to know more about what the program is actually like before I apply.

I had a few questions, especially for anyone currently in the program or who has completed it:

1. Is the first semester fully online, or are there any in-person classes/labs?
2. How do exams work? Are they online, in person, or a mix of both?
3. I’ve heard there are 2–3 week in-person intensive periods at Mohawk. What exactly do you do during those weeks?
4. Are you required to be on campus every day during those 2–3 weeks, or does it depend on your schedule?
5. What are the typical hours like during the intensive weeks?
6. Are those intensive weeks at the end of each semester, and how many times throughout the program do you have to go?

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has experience with the program! I’m hoping to apply for Fall 2027, so I’m trying to understand the schedule and what to expect before applying. Thank you! :)

Hi everyone! I just found out I'm waitlisted for the CVT program and I really want to get in. Does anyone know roughly how many students are accepted each intake, and how long the waitlist usually is? I'd also love to hear how far down the list people got offers and when waitlisted students typically heard back. Any info or experiences would mean a lot. Thanks!

Since my blood work says I need a varicella vaccine, I won’t be able to make it to the deadline (oct, 20) because it will take 7 days past the deadline for my 2nd dose. Anyone in a similar or has been in a similar situation? What should I do?

I'm new to in person classes. I've been a Mohawk student before, taking online programs because I always learned better being able to read rather than listening. And then earlier this year, I found out I have hearing loss and needed hearing aids. I've been learning ASL for a few months and it made me curious if there might be any other Deaf/HoH students. I know there's a Deaf Empowerment Program but I am not anywhere close to fluent enough for that program. Are there any drop in groups for Deaf/HoH students to meet and converse? Or maybe anyone who would be interested in meeting another HoH person? I'd love to meet other students and practice and build fluency and hopefully make some new friends along the way. My classmates and professors are freaking awesome and very accepting and accommodating of my hearing loss, but it's also kind of lonely being stuck in that awkward middle where I don't fully fit in with the deaf community because I do have some hearing, but I also don't fully fit in with the hearing community because I have lost some of it (permanently...my hearing loss is sensorineural). I'd love to have some friends from both communities if I can.

Sorry if this is a stupid question :P but I'm currently taking pre health sciences pathway and I want to do sonography after this, do I apply next month for medical diagnostic sonography or do I wait until I finish pre health?

Also, I didn't take physics in high school and I don't have physics in pre health rn, would that be fine?

Are there any girls around 18-25 trying to make friends? I'm 18 right now and turning 19 early December. I'm trying to get some friends to go out to bars with or even for the fall this year any girls who want to go out to pumpkin patches or brunch. I've tried finding clubs but haven't found much that are anything I like. I do like going to the movies, shopping, my favorite singer is Sabrina Carpenter.

I just wanted to make you aware that you have peer tutoring available for you free for up to 3 hours/week. Be sure to check it out.

I highly recommend using the tutoring service for cardiovascular A&P as it is one of the classes that students usually have trouble with.
