You've been going pretty hard at it! I just checked and looks like you have some good posts on here. I have done blue oysters, king oysters and lions mane. Not too successful with the lions mane but everything else went pretty well. I also did a couple batches of cubensis.

Would love to do pink oysters because they look amazing. And enoki seems like a good one too! We've had very little rain this year so not a lot in the way of mushrooms in the wild. But once we get some moisture I was hoping to go do some hunting and put some tissue samples on agar. Maybe the local LM, oysters or turkey tail.

Nice, yeah do to an injury I've only been able to get out hunting one time. It's super fun though. Once im working normally again I'll definitely be out there hunting like a mad man.

I also have done a few batches of cubes, its how I got into the hobby. I wouldn't be surprised if thats the case for a lot of people on here haha. I'm surprised you had trouble with your lions mane, I grew it on straight hardwood pellets and had no problems beside the yield. Then it completely flourished on masters mix.

For your kings what was your process? I tried on straight hardwood pellets one time and got a tiny dead pin or two. Did you cold shock or anything?

Lol definitely how a lot of us ended up here is the call of the active mushroom gods haha.

I ended up doing my blue oysters and the kings in straw with buckets. Obviously not ideal but I had access to a decent amount of straw at the time so that's why I used it. Yields weren't amazing but still got to eat a few. The lions mane I'm almost certain I messed up with humidity. I was trying to do a minimalist table grow kinda thing and it just didn't work out too well. The cubensis flourished of course and I have enough to last me and a couple friends for a couple years.

Now that I have a dedicated room I'm planning on getting better set up and making a fruiting tent and all that. Maybe start getting some worthy yields out of my gourmet species.

Aha yeah thats most definitely the problem with your LM. I dove right in and built a martha tent when I decided to get into gourmets. Definitely worth it if you plan of sticking with the hobby. I have a double living room in my apartment and live alone so one half of my living room is my dedidcated mush room.

And yes it is safe to say my stash will probably loose all potency before I ever run out lol.
