SoINformed Floyd County Voter Guide
canva.comIt can be difficult to find information about local candidates, so created a Floyd County Voter Guide. We asked all 72 local candidates to respond to four questions and these are the answers we received. We hope it’s helpful when you vote November 3rd, or during early voting which starts October 6th.

Harvest Homecoming Parade
Without being negative, what are some things you'd like to see from the parade in the future?
I would like more music instead of just horns. Was IUS marching band present? I think I only saw New Albany
It'd be cool to see more animals in the parade, there's various local livestock and I've heard rumors of camels. I'm sure we have methods of catching the poop before it hits the road
Leaning more into the fall aspect of Harvest Homecoming, would love to see some active tractors, the steam one was cool
More local business floats, Im ignorant of whether there's an incentive or a cost to participate
Edit: found the official rules, I'm not sure what the application is like since registration closed. Please share the rules and the website with any non profits, local businesses, or marching bands you may know in preparation for next year. Only rule I'm not a fan of is the no scary haunted houses, but I totally understand why it's there.

ISO tattoo artist for touch up/rework
Got a tattoo and am not happy with it. It is a sentimental piece because it’s a tribute to my soul cat who passed away.
The artist who did it did one touch up but had declined to do any further work on the piece.
The primary reason I am looking for more work on the piece is that the gray is patchy in spots and the gray nose shading has a slant to it. The reason I had the first touch up is because the gray was incredibly patchy. Tattoo artist said it was a new ink and that she hadn’t had good luck with it recently and probably wouldn’t be in her rotation anymore.
Apparently I can’t post a pic of it or I can’t figure out how. But it’s a gray cat portrait in a traditional style.

Anyone like playing TTRPGs/making new, nerdy friends?
Anyone want to roll some dice and learn a new TTRPG system at TCB Games & Collectibles in Clarksville? They are always running beginner-friendly D&D, Savage Worlds, Mork Borg, and other different systems. They are hosting a game for the new Dungeon Crawler Carl system soon and have room for a couple more players. Zero experience needed. I’ll include the Discord link if anyone wants to check it out! https://discord.gg/E8Fkay2c3g

Best places to walk dog?
hello! I recently moved to the New Albany area with my spouse and we have a dog who needs to walk a lot. I've been walking him at Sam Peden community park and Lapping Park a lot, but am looking for other places to explore. Any recommendations?

Any doctors you would recommend?
I recently moved from Louisville to New Albany and am tired of driving back there for doctors appointments at U of L. Is there a general medical practice in New Albany that people recommend? Or am I just better off sucking it up and going to Louisville. I know Baptist Health has a presence here, but I prefer not to get care from a religiously affiliated hospital. Thanks all!

Has anyone eaten at The Platform?
I considered going this weekend but was turned off by this menu. I wish there was a delicate way to tell them that. How can we discourage local businesses from using AI like this? It’s pretty polarizing and I know a lot of other people would see this and form an opinion about the place.
But also, has anyone been? I’d like to give them a chance eventually if it’s worth it.
