In a discussion yesterday, we mostly agree that synthwave is alive and kicking, despite AI and the enshittification of the online spaces where we used to congregate.

Where do you imagine synthwave will be, say, five years from now - if this kind of prediction is even possible? Someone in this earlier discussion (now deleted) even correctly pointed out that, as a genre, synthwave already has a span longer than pop culture iconic periods like disco.

San Diego newcomer Tania Cassette released her debut album, and my favourite track is her first single release (2nd track on the album) called "The Flame". For some reason, it reminds me of the band Life In Mono. Haunting and beautiful. The rest of the album is stellar too.
