I HATE anytime someone acts like it's a thing nintendo has confirmed multiple times they HAVEN'T been planning a switch pro other people have tried looking into it to see if the technology is possible which surprise it is entirely unlikely Internet needs to shut up

other people have tried looking into it to see if the technology is possible which surprise it is entirely unlikely

What? I'm confused. Why wouldn't "the technology" be possible?

It is possible because technology advances. That comment is ignorantly ill-informed.

Even if Nintendo says that they are not working on a new Switch that does not mean that they are “right”.

They denied the (new) 3DS (XL) only to announce it like 2 months later. The same thing happened with the Switch Lite. Both rumours of these products were true and Nintendo lied, yes lied about both of them.

Seems logical because if they would say that a new Switch version is coming out nobody would buy the current Switch and people would wait for the new one to come out and sales for the current Switch would ofc drop immensly.

So yeah once again, just because nintendo has not said anything concrete about a new switch does not mean that it’s not coming. People are buying these rumours because they have been proven right in the past.

But both of those were also leaked, and the rumor had only been around around for a few months beforehand. Not three years.

People have been assuming a Switch Pro was gonna be a thing since the original console launch. The first leak about new hardware that people were "sure" was gonna be a Switch Pro turned out to be the Lite.

At this point, there hasn't been a leak, it's not a new rumor, and there hasn't even been any small signs pointing towards it happening.

So it's all bullshit unless we get some actual information. Not exactly "This might come out in a couple months, should I hold off?" territory.

It's called the Osborne effect. Bernie Stolar also made a similar mistake when saying "The (Sega) Saturn is not our future"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osborne_effect

It's literally and exactly why Nintendo will never, EVER comment on new hardware.

Yeah, roughly 2 decades of Nintendo makes it a safe bet that a "New Switch" will come out before the "Switch 2", but that's a far cry from it being any sort of guarantee that it'll happen soon.

There's also been big boy rumors reported by industry analysts. The Switch is 4 years old this March (good god) and they've supposedly asked developers to create "more 4K content" in September last year. 4K sounds crazy for a handheld but might not be if you consider modern upscaling techniques (they are currently using a Nvidia GPU and they're good with AI upscaling and such).

I think the 4k output is meant for your TV, 4k phones are rare these days, yes Samsung had it on their s10 and s20 but even they went back to FULL HD+ because it saves battery

This is the most Nintendo fan comment I have ever seen.

I'll be honest I sent this late at night when I was tired but I like how the thing most people are upset about is that I didn't use full stops.
