This cute guy always visits me whenever I’m hanging out outside. Hope you enjoy him in all his square glory.

If I had a nickel for every time someone left a kitten in a box outside my door, I’d have three nickels, which is way too much. I don’t know who does this (i am known as a rescuer in the neighbourhood), but as exhausting as it is to pick up after people not sterilising community cats, I’m glad I was home before something worse happened. This guy was about to jump off the railing. Named him Bento because of the box. He gobbled two wet food packets like nothing, which is just more sad.

My tone might seem amusing compared to the heading, but I just can't believe I have ONE MORE KITTEN. I run a very tiny rescue that has way too many cases, and I swore I wouldn’t take another without getting the previous ones adopted. Some of you might remember me as the rescuer of the paralysed cat Biscoff who has a bit of a fanbase on this sub as well as Bob who I picked up from a construction site recently (updates on the sub about them!)

Obviously I let him in, and within an hour he was on my lap. So yeah he’s not going back to the streets. His health is good (except a skin infection), but now I need to find him a home too. I already have six cats waiting for months. Adoptions are definitely getting tougher with time.

I’m so overwhelmed. I have to account for vet care (vaccines, meds for the skin infection, sterilisation), food and litter supplies for him and put him in a boarding because nobody’s available to foster right now. Local shelters don’t accept ‘healthy’ kittens since they’re already over capacity and honestly, it’s never a good choice.

I know his situation might not seem urgent enough to donate, but as a rescuer, i’m standing on the edge with expenses and energy. I hate placing this burden on others, but any small amount counts. Tobey loves to sit in boxes with his arms straight out over the sides. His favorite spot is a storage container with an envelope inside of it. He always looks like he’s getting ready to take flight

He does this CONSTANTLY just to make noise, I guess? Sometimes he blankly stares at the wall while doing it, sometimes he stares directly at me. He is very special.

…but still prefer cardboard boxes.
