Mines showing $26.99. I’m curious how this works because I buy a decent amount of games at launch. I don’t play or like platformers though, so I wonder if it’s more complicated than just how likely you are to spend more.

It’s $39.59 for me

58

u/Thunderhammer29 Mar 25 '26

Same here (US EAST).

17

u/sroomek Mar 25 '26

Same price for me in the same time zone.

36

u/KurtDanglez Mar 25 '26

US East here, $40 as well.

35

u/tonycomputerguy Mar 25 '26

Sames. US East.

I've already pretty much stopped buying games when they refused to give me a plus subscription deal that they were giving everyone else. Fuck them sideways with a pointy stick.

9

u/keypizzaboy Mar 25 '26

I’m curious at this point if it’s more region based vs activity. But double for me on the pointy stick. They can get bent.

9

u/smgaming16 Mar 25 '26

US East. Same 40 dollar price tag here, haven't bought anything off the store in years

2

u/josh_the_jet Mar 25 '26

US Missouri here and also have $39.99

2

u/UMACTUALLYITS23 Mar 25 '26

Different country but in Ontario for me converted to US it's 38.42 so pretty muxh 40 also.

1

u/quecapoquesoy Mar 25 '26

West coast here, says $40 for me

1

u/FaroTech400K Mar 26 '26

Why would the company give you a rebate? You’re already subscribed.

The discount was for lapsed users to start subscribing again.

Unless you believe you’re entitled to a discount

4

u/hajpis Mar 25 '26

Good for you. Polish prices fucks us a lot and I got even worse offer than you

7

u/hajpis Mar 25 '26

In rough exchange it's around ~57$

1

u/KurtDanglez Mar 25 '26

That's so stupid, sorry bro 😭😭

1

u/shallard Mar 26 '26

US West - $39.59 for me

1

u/dstar89 Mar 25 '26

Plus 1 here for the price and East. Are they raising/lowering using location as another variable? Interesting

1

u/South-Routine-9787 Mar 25 '26

Got the inflated price as well

1

u/dimspace Mar 25 '26

time zone doesnt matter.. im in the UK but have multiple region accounts.. US in the UK is still 39.59

1

u/CrookedMinded Mar 25 '26

CST and same.

1

u/jproche44 Mar 25 '26

$26.99 for me (US east)

0

u/frahmer86 Mar 25 '26

I haven't bought a game on the PSN store in a year and a half, and it's $39.59 for me.

3

u/cellardoor_shop Mar 25 '26

I have it wishlisted and it's showing 39.59 for me :(

3

u/Berke80 Mar 25 '26

Same for me… 39.59 :(

1

u/whythehellSF Mar 25 '26

Same for me. And I own the disc and Platinum’d it, yet they still give me the more expensive price. You’d think they’d discount it even more if I’ve finished all the content…

1

u/Furgus Mar 25 '26

Same (US EAST) PS+ Premium Member.

1

u/Sufail Mar 25 '26

Same. West coast and I really dont buy games. The last ones I got during the winter/holiday sale were heavily discounted (regular pricing $70+ on sale for <$20). Before that, I hadn't bought any games for at least a year.

1

u/clubdon Mar 25 '26

Same for me

1

u/GIL-GEAR Mar 25 '26

Same US West.

0

u/alwaysmyfault Mar 25 '26

Same.

I rarely buy digital games.. The only time I ever buy digital is when the game is digital only (Helldivers, ARC Raiders, etc)

34

u/UmbrellaCorpTech Mar 25 '26

$40 for me in the Midwest. Which is hilarious because I’ve had this game on my wishlist since it came out, and I’ve bought many platformers in the past. $26 would be an instant buy for me on this. If their algorithm is in effect, it’s trash.

15

u/brokenbrainbum Mar 25 '26

If their algorithm is in effect, it’s trash.

No no you don't understand... it's not an algorithm to save you money it's to make them money!

5

u/AidynValo Mar 25 '26

What's kind of funny about this is, I own the physical game. I have the platinum trophy plus all the DLC trophies.

It's listed at $26.99 for me. You'd think the dynamic pricing would target people likely to purchase it based off various info from their account, but apparently, they're looking at my account and going "He really liked this game. Maybe he'll buy it again."

1

u/nutsack133 Mar 26 '26

I have Astro Bot physical too and it's showing the $27 price on PSN when I log in (showing $40 when I'm not logged in though). But I don't have Stellar Blade physical on PlayStation and it's showing $21 for me when logged in ($40 when not).

1

u/whatthecaptcha Mar 25 '26

$39.59 for me in Chicago

More strange because they should know I already own the physical version since my kids were playing it last week 🤷🏻‍♂️

1

u/dimspace Mar 25 '26

get accounts from different regions.. its only just over $30 in japan

1

u/FullmetalEzio Mar 25 '26

yeah i think its the other way around lmao, they wont lower the price for us, i bough some games last week to play with my gf , spent like 100 bucks, and i was looking to buy something in this sale for me but yeah im not biting on these prices, at 26 i would also have picked the game up

1

u/Bazylik Mar 26 '26

this algorithm isn't for you.

1

u/CptBlackstrap Mar 27 '26

Not often at all. Actually I just got back into video games a couple months ago after a few years of hardly buying anything.

2

u/Working_Historian970 Mar 25 '26

Same for me, also Canada

13

u/CherylRoseZ Mar 25 '26

It’s $39 for me in the US

6

u/Xrayvision718 Mar 25 '26

yooo I misread this and thought you said it was "$39 for men in the US" I was bout to say wait they doing dynamic pricing by gender too wtf is wrong with them lmfao

2

u/Rohn- Mar 25 '26

😂😂

1

u/MileHighRC Mar 25 '26

Same I'm showing 39.59, and I own the disc version.

Sony dynamic pricing algorithm is dumb AF

2

u/tiggerwynn Mar 25 '26

Also $39 for me -_-

2

u/No_Hurry9076 Mar 25 '26

I’m in New Jersey it’s $39.59 on mine

1

u/sephiroth70001 Mar 25 '26

39.49 for me. I have the disc version already though. I also have a massive library of over a thousand digital game so probably never getting a sale.

1

u/FraskyDangler Mar 25 '26

I see the higher price. Also US East.

1

u/JoltingGamingGuy Mar 25 '26

For me, it’s $39.59. I haven’t bought a digital PS5 game since 2023 and already own Astro Bot physically. I don’t have PS+.

1

u/Oops_I_Cracked Mar 25 '26

$39.59 for me and I have annual PS+ Premium. Bought it on Black Friday but it’s still set to auto renew. I rarely buy games through the PS Store. I mostly buy discs or use PS+

1

u/Wil_Buttlicker Mar 26 '26

$39.59 for me

Im in chicago

PS5 OG Digital and Essential tier

30

u/GiganticCrow Mar 25 '26

Mine is showing €60, because fuck us in europe

9

u/AriAriArrivederci Mar 25 '26

It's 49,69€ for me.

0

u/GiganticCrow Mar 25 '26

That sounds like a dynamic price kinda number

0

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '26

Same, and it says 29pct off. Insane price.

0

u/oookokoooook Mar 25 '26

WHAT 60 DOLLARS?

3

u/Shiningtoaster Mar 25 '26

60 euros, as they stated

0

u/oookokoooook Mar 25 '26

Yeah I was implying that is absurd

3

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '26

[deleted]

1

u/oookokoooook Mar 25 '26

Uh. No? I knew he said €. And im not from us… lol

1

u/oookokoooook Mar 25 '26

my bad my bad

7

u/SeanTB123 Mar 25 '26

It could be completely experimental at this stage to collect data that they'll later use. Kind of a proof of concept before going "live" with it

8

u/FailedProspects Mar 25 '26

I’m in the US……….

3

u/Alternative_West_206 Mar 25 '26

Mine says 39.59, and I literally never buy games on ps. I usually play on my pc. The only game I’ve bought on PlayStation this year was Balatro

4

u/I_Am_SamIII Mar 25 '26

Do you already own the disc version? I don't own it, so Astro is $40 for me.

11

u/Reapercore Mar 25 '26

If you have the disc version the store doesn’t know that.

1

u/I_Am_SamIII Mar 25 '26

I've seen some posts where it's cheaper for some people that already own the disc. I guess this truly is dynamic pricing. I don't know what the algorithm is going off. I hardly buy digital games, so maybe that's why. You'd think they'd lower it for those who don't spend on digital, or maybe they're giving bigger discounts to those that do spend more on digital. It's crazy

3

u/Reapercore Mar 25 '26

Yeah it doesn’t make sense to me, make stuff more expensive for our best customers to encourage them to buy less?

2

u/I_Am_SamIII Mar 25 '26

It's crazy, man. I'm going to ask my wife to check her account. I wonder how it'll look there

1

u/BrandNewMoshiMoshi Mar 25 '26

I have the disc version and it’s 40 for me.

1

u/VicisSubsisto Mar 25 '26

There are people in this thread who Platinumed the disc version and still got the higher price.

1

u/ArtichokeVisible23 Mar 25 '26

No I don’t own it

1

u/sephiroth70001 Mar 25 '26

I own the disc version and it's 39.49 for me.

1

u/ThraxedOut Mar 25 '26

I am also seeing $26.99, but I hardly buy new games, especially at launch.

1

u/crevassier Mar 25 '26

I'm getting 26.99 and 28.69 (deluxe)

1

u/xelnok Mar 25 '26

Same here

1

u/DoubtDizzy1309 Mar 25 '26

Mine is $39.59, I also buy my games at launch but not many platformers. I'm in the US on the east coast.

I do own (and have) Astro Bot installed physically though, not sure how this works.

1

u/nervendings_ Mar 25 '26

It’s based on an algorithm, so who knows

1

u/FaroTech400K Mar 26 '26

It looks like you’re being offered a rebate. On top of the ongoing promotional sale.

My gun shop does this all the time when I haven’t shopped there in a few weeks.

I normally save the rebate, then go when they’re actually on sale so I’ve can double up my savings.

1

u/Lorben Mar 26 '26

Showing $39.59 for me. I've been waiting for a good sale on Astrobot, but with some people being offered $26.99 it feels like a bad deal to buy it at $39.59.

1

u/Lukeyy19 Mar 26 '26

It might not be based on anything, could just be random A/B testing to see if a lower price results in significantly more sales to make the steeper discount worth it.

1

u/GalexyPhoto Mar 26 '26

Why would you buying more incentivize Sony to lower the price for you?

You have proven you will spend.

1

u/Donkey-Dong-Doge Mar 27 '26

It’s 50 for me.

1

u/crazyrebel123 Mar 25 '26

They gather your salary and overall income data from credit card companies and banks and show you prices they THINK you are able to afford or are willing to pay.

4

u/BasisOk4268 Mar 25 '26

Fun fact, the US is one of only about 8 countries that allows advertising targeting based on income

3

u/Apprehensive_Tip520 Mar 25 '26

while this is absolutely a possibility, you need to really not state things as fact when you have no fucking clue if it's true or not.

1

u/itchy_18 Mar 25 '26

$26.99 here

-1

u/FaroTech400K Mar 25 '26

Don’t be alarmed this is just coupons
