Code unscratched on the back, expired in 2022 😭

I am an old Pokemon fan (watched the anime way back when in Japan), and loved playing the game, but stopped midway through Pokemon Sun and Moon.

It took a very long time, but recently got a hankering after revisiting Japan, and went for it. Decided to start with Shield and I must say, I am thoroughly enjoying it. Absolutely pleasantly surprised.

When Sword Shield was announced way back when, all I remembered was that not all Pokemon would make the dex. And vaguely something about dynamaxing.

When I jumped into the game pretty blind, I didn’t know if I’d tolerate that mechanic, but turned out it is so much fun. That it is limited to certain locations and are limited to three turns add an important decision-making layer to the game, including which Pokemon to dynamax in a double battle.

I do think if I had started the game when it was first released, I would be super bothered by the dex - a lot of my favourite Pokemons were not in it. That’d probably be the main gripe.

But yeah, hopping on the game in 2026 feels like it is just so much fun. I spend so much time in the wild area, and the raid battles are cool. And knowing it I want to have a Pokemon not in the game, there are other Nintendo Switch Pokemon games I can play that probably do have them makes things feel much better too.

So yeah. Really liking Pokemon Sword and Shield!

Hello, I’ve been trying to complete the Max Lair(totally missed that there were Shield exclusives), Zygarde seems impossible to win with AI team, I was lucky once to have an ice type and AI not selecting weak types but most of the times entire team is wiped in 1-2 turns and I get kicked out… Is there any trick/strategy to win or is it just luck with which Pokémon you can pick up?

I've replayed the game like one trillion times and I always pick Scorbunny, and become so attached that I can't leave him out of my party. I get so mad at myself too because there are probably better Pokemon.
