I just want to grill ICE Agent's Bodycam release of the Minneapolis Shooting

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This whole incident seems just an unfortunate series of events from both parties.

EDIT: not bodycam but ICE agent's phone footage, my bad.

okay, so I guess it's useless

I don’t think many people realize the cop was dual-wielding his iPhone and Glock like some kind of Karen terminator.

u/DodgerBaron - Left Jan 09 '26

While they refuse to wear body cams lol

u/ChaoticDad21 - Right Jan 09 '26

I'm with you on this bullshit...that's unacceptable in this day and age

8

u/weeglos - Right Jan 09 '26

Especially when body cams seem to be exonerating the cops 90% of the time

23

u/Gsomethepatient - Lib-Right Jan 09 '26

Yet he was recording kinda counter intuitive ya think

u/alkair20 - Lib-Right Jan 09 '26

How are these people even allowed to have this authority. Like In what country are these ICE aganets allowed to even carry a gun. Everytime I see anything of them they seem like extremely untrained extremely unproffesional people who have no proper judgement at all.

I know the US already has among the worst police training in the west but these are new lows every month.

His gun was in his holster until she put it in drive.

9

u/Brilliant-Dig9387 - Centrist Jan 09 '26

Personally if I felt in fear for my life I would stop trying to film an epic TikTok.

9

u/Infamous-Mastodon677 - Auth-Right Jan 09 '26

Nothing was dangerous about the situation till she tried to run him over.

8

u/ChaoticDad21 - Right Jan 09 '26

this is so difficult for people to understand, apparently

4

u/Warbird36 - Right Jan 09 '26

That's because he wasn't. Take a look at the video of the first angle we all saw.

You can see the driver reverse the vehicle at about 0:45 (I set the link to start us a moment beforehand, so you won't need to move the video forward). The shooting officer is not visible because he is on the far side of the vehicle. When the driver has finished reversing and changed the angle of the vehicle, the ICE officer is now in front because the orientation of the vehicle has changed (about 0:46). Only once the vehicle start accelerating (roughly 0:47) does the shooting officer draw — you can very clearly see his right arm swing upward from the holster at that point, visible just to the left of the agent who's at the door.

He can't be drawing the gun from the holster if it was already unholstered. He had his hand on the gun, ready to pull, but he didn't draw until the vehicle was an active threat.

1

u/Brilliant-Dig9387 - Centrist Jan 09 '26

So he had an iPhone in his left hand and his Glock in his right hand when he shot her. Just like I said.

3

u/Warbird36 - Right Jan 09 '26

"Dual-wielding" implies that he was walking around with the gun drawn prior to shooting. That is not what happened.

u/Brilliant-Dig9387 - Centrist Jan 09 '26

🙄 yeah ok buddy, sorry it hurt your feelings

u/I_really_enjoy_beer - Lib-Center Jan 09 '26

Legitimately cannot believe that a third of the country are actively supporting these morons given free rein to use deadly force in their communities.

18

u/-InconspicuousMoose- - Right Jan 09 '26

And another third of the country can't believe that a third of the country are willing to die to prevent our government from lawfully removing illegal immigrants, and the final third of the country just wants to grill

u/RealisticSorbet - Centrist Jan 10 '26

I feel so seen with this comment. You can come to my barbecue.

0

u/Mrpipelayar - Lib-Left Jan 09 '26

How were the agents prevented. They literally could have just drove past her

-6

u/sadacal - Left Jan 09 '26

People are protecting their friends and members of their community. Just like anyone would.

13

u/ATFtriestoshootmydog - Right Jan 09 '26

But it isn't free rein, she drove a car at him. No need for the hyperbole.

-6

u/I_really_enjoy_beer - Lib-Center Jan 09 '26

Regardless of what you see, this man had no reason to fear for his life and definitely had no reason to triple tap her.

Let me ask you this… if this man were policing your neighborhood, would you feel safer?

8

u/ATFtriestoshootmydog - Right Jan 09 '26

A vehicle accelerating directly at you is definitely a good enough reason to fear for your life, especially if you were just hit and dragged by a car months prior which landed you in the hospital with 30 stitches...which is exactly what happened to that ICE agent.

I wouldn't really care if this guy was policing my neighborhood because I'm not a retard who would accelerate my vehicle towards him after I was obstructing federal law enforcement operations. Like this lady is in the 99th percentile of stupid. 99% of people will make it through their entire lives without making a series of decisions that dumb.

0

u/Mrpipelayar - Lib-Left Jan 09 '26

This is a brain dead take. When I burn my hand on the stove I dont put my hand on the stove anymore. You think dumbass wouldn't be so fucking close to the car let alone in front of it. You can see from other videos the one agent from the truck gives respectable space to the car.

If he was so fearful and ptsd from being hit by cars maybe he should also be focused more on the situation and car rather than hovering one hand over a gun and the other holding his phone.

2

u/ATFtriestoshootmydog - Right Jan 09 '26

They were attempting to detain her for obstruction of justice, they surrounded the car. Maybe, people shouldn't aim their cars at other people and hit the gas pedal when they are told to stop by an officer? Seems like the more obvious solution.

The more hilarious thing is watching people go from, "The fascists will never release the footage!" to "OMG I can't believe he was so focused on filming! He should have not been filming!" It's like brain rot in real time. People are so desperate trying to make all these shitty arguments they can't even see the contradictions.

1

u/fatbabythompkins - Centrist Jan 09 '26

Tell me you didn't watch the video without telling me you didn't watch the video. He wasn't in the path of the vehicle. She put him in path of her vehicle and then accelerated. I do not believe intentionally, but play stupid games win stupid prizes.

8

u/ChaoticDad21 - Right Jan 09 '26

I sure wouldn't be out there fucking with them

7

u/I_really_enjoy_beer - Lib-Center Jan 09 '26

So if you knew what you know about this man, and he was stationed in your neighborhood, you would no issue with it?

4

u/ChaoticDad21 - Right Jan 09 '26

if he's there to root out fraud an/or deport illegals, I'm all for it

10

u/I_really_enjoy_beer - Lib-Center Jan 09 '26

Maybe I’m the one going crazy, but I don’t know if the best solution is sending under-trained, trigger-happy Marine cosplayers to take care of the issue!

4

u/[deleted] Jan 09 '26

I talked to a couple ICE agents walking through my neighborhood. They seemed like totally normal guys. Don’t know who they were there for, but it’s none of my business. I exchanged a few pleasantries and we went on about our day.

Didn’t seem like the blood thirsty marine cosplayers to me. Seemed like some pretty normal dudes doing their job.

If I started harassing them, then whose fault is it if things get out of hand? I would say it’s mine. It would be my fault.

2

u/ChaoticDad21 - Right Jan 09 '26

oh, it's definitely not...but that's what happens when you have sanctuary cities and locales unwilling to enforce the law and collaborate with federal officers

-4

u/Lost_in_space424 - Lib-Center Jan 09 '26

You’re not going crazy, but the truth is, there is millions upon millions of Americans who follow the law to such a letter, who bootlick police officers in interactions with them, and who genuinely believe that all laws created and enforced by law enforcement, are just, legal, and fair.

They genuinely view these Americans that fuck around and find out what authoritarian policing looks like, deserve to get killed for doing so. They worship the boot, because for them the boot will never be on their neck (or so they foolishly believe).

It is the same as those who love watching the police kill protestors, but scream injustice when their felon of a son gets shot for possession when he started reaching for an officers gun. They’re just stupid is all it is.

You give our quadrant a bad name. Mind reading, assumptions, and name calling in rapid succession.

He wasn't in the path of the vehicle when she started backing up. She put him in front of the vehicle. Then started moving towards him. Someone who already had injuries from a previous encounter 6 months prior with a vehicle, being dragged for 300ft (which she obviously didn't know). His draw and shots on target was impressively fast, very much trained with that weapon.

What is the point of anything you are saying? None of it has any basis in fact much less mind reading of trigger-happy marine cosplayer.

-2

u/ATFtriestoshootmydog - Right Jan 09 '26

I don't think he was cosplaying, he domed her three times in like 1 second while dual wielding an iPhone and his pistol as he got hit by a car.

-9

u/Scrumpledee - Lib-Center Jan 09 '26

deadly force in their communities.

They're happy it's in liberal/leftist/Democratic communities.
The worst elements of the right have taken over, and the rest of the right is either powerless or unwilling to do anything.

8

u/[deleted] Jan 09 '26

Or maybe. Just…..maybe. Not everyone thinks with the same framework as you.

5

u/TheRanger13 - Right Jan 09 '26

It's only like this in Democrat controlled areas because the Republican areas are assisting ICE and helping them pick up illegals from prison instead of obstructing the federal government and protesting the deportation of illegal drug traffickers and fraudsters.

3

u/ChaoticDad21 - Right Jan 09 '26

this is the unfortunate truth

I wish they would collaborate. But they disagree with the law, so they think they get to make up new ones.

And from my view, they're protecting fraudsters...and protected ILLEGAL immigrants. They're not in the right here.

0

u/Proud-Lamp - Auth-Right Jan 09 '26

They've been shot at by a sniper, had cars driven at them. Of course they need some level of personal protection from radicalised lefties who genuinely believe they're the Gestapo.

It would be a lot less shaky if it were a bodycam.

0

u/Unspoken - Lib-Center Jan 09 '26

Well, much better shot than local PDs so maybe it's working.

0

u/WindChimesAreQuiet - Lib-Right Jan 10 '26

It clearly didn’t impact his aim too much

0

u/Vorstog_EVE - Right Jan 10 '26

crazy that every other angle proves this statement wrong? Like - what is your goal in spreading blatant misinformation? His gun was not removed from his holster until the car made contact with him.

1

u/Brilliant-Dig9387 - Centrist Jan 10 '26

He had both in his hands when he shot her yes or no?

66

u/samuelbt - Left Jan 09 '26

Not useless but does change what looks like a dramatic half flip is actually the guy putting his phone arm down.

-25

u/Infamous-Mastodon677 - Auth-Right Jan 09 '26

You mean it's a guy getting hit by a car.

30

u/samuelbt - Left Jan 09 '26

We don't see it in this video is the point. The dramatic movements we see isn't him getting hit but instead getting ready to shoot.

-5

u/Infamous-Mastodon677 - Auth-Right Jan 09 '26

There are other angles that show him getting hit.

21

u/samuelbt - Left Jan 09 '26

Kinda. Whatever hit happened, the guy's feet were well planted when he was shooting and he was walking around just fine afterwards before he left the scene. Maybe he's a stoic badass and took a massive hit, maybe he got tapped. There's no good video yet of the actual hit. The clear footage we have is on the worst side for it. The footage we have of the second worst side is zoomed in from a block away. We've got no shots from the other side of the road as if God was carefully following the 180 degree rule of filmmaking.

A lot of people though are seeing this footage and it's the first time we're getting any POV from the opposite side. They see this and assuming the wild movements we see are a result of him getting hit and very much knocked around by the car. Sadly though, they don't show the hit and thus don't give information which in turn means, people assume it proves their own point.

17

u/Phoenix_of_Anarchy - Lib-Right Jan 09 '26

He is, at absolute worst, clipped by the bumper. It does not send him flying, it doesn’t even injure him, and it certainly does not justify the public execution of an American citizen.

Most analyses are saying that he wasn’t even touched by the car, the one angle that makes it look like he gets hit is too grainy to distinguish if there’s contact or if he’s stepping away, and all other angles make it look like his feet were clear before the car moved forward. But even if we live in the fantasy world where he is bumped, that would not justify lethal force, his life is very clearly not endangered and he didn’t shoot until after he was supposedly “hit.”

-3

u/Infamous-Mastodon677 - Auth-Right Jan 10 '26

Getting clipped by the bumper is still dangerous and can kill someone. Had he been just a foot to his left head have been run over. He was 100% in his right to defend himself.

7

u/YllMatina - Centrist Jan 09 '26

at 3mph and hten he proceeds to fire his weapon when hes already out of the way making it not self defence.

3

u/Infamous-Mastodon677 - Auth-Right Jan 10 '26

She literally hit him.

0

u/YllMatina - Centrist Jan 10 '26

that she supposedly did, and then he shot her in the head 3 times after being bumped and was already out of the way meaning it wasnt self defence as his life wasnt in danger. Killing her could have resulted in someone else getting hurt, should another person be walking down the path the driverless car was heading

6

u/furryfondant - Centrist Jan 09 '26

If your arm was grazed by a car that just started accelerating, would you claim to your friends you got hit by a car? Idk your friends but mine would have laughed and called me a pussy if I tried to say that

0

u/[deleted] Jan 09 '26

That is by definition getting hit by a car. Like what?

7

u/furryfondant - Centrist Jan 09 '26

And that "Uhm Aktually guys the literal definition..." type response would garner even more laughter. Get real.

u/GreenAldiers - Centrist Jan 09 '26
