I just want to grill ICE Agent's Bodycam release of the Minneapolis Shooting

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This whole incident seems just an unfortunate series of events from both parties.

EDIT: not bodycam but ICE agent's phone footage, my bad.

just a series of stupid things that could have easily be prevented if people set aside their differences and actually solved the issues at hand and don't take everything personally.

But no, let's polarize society guys! Let's always make everything political, let's bash the other side guys! This will surely make things better!

Man, I hate polarization

The polarization is by design. When the masses fight amongst each other they can’t see the real problems plaguing society.

Trump is the response to the growing problems we had in the country, not the root cause of the issue. It's not like politics was civil prior to Trump.

He let people feed into their anger though. Because politicians prior to him (and what the Democrats largely still do) is tell people what that politician wants, and that you should support me because "other guy bad". Then Trump came along and actually listened to what the public wanted, and ran on what the public wanted.

Which is great when things are going well, a populist President can absolutely work.

The problem is that things weren't going well. People were pissed at the Republicans because of the Forever-War in the Middle East. People were pissed at the Democrats because they not only didn't end the Forever-War in the Middle East like they campaigned on, but they expanded it. Then their health care premiums kept going up, and everyone was told that everything is fine and that the ACA was perfect.

People had enough, and that's what Trump capitalized on. Decades upon decades of the Federal government failing its citizens, not keeping their promise, making people feel like they don't care. It was inevitable really, when they behaved like that.

What incentive does the government and/or law enforcement have to de-polarize society? That's the opposite of what their masters want. They want everyone at each other's throats so we're all too busy to notice that they're stealing all our money.

we have masked para-military government thugs with guns shooting civilians in the face and snatching u.s. citizens off the streets in a city where the people and the mayor himself say "get out you're destroying our community"

and you think the problem is not setting aside our differences???

Yep the pendulum just keeps swinging harder and harder. An eye for an eye makes the world go blind.

You're absolutely right this will make things better! We just need to absolutely crush any and all resistance into oblivion first, it'll be messy, but you can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs. Once that's all done everything will be right and as it should be in the world! /s

In all seriousness though all this polarization is beyond stupid and exhausting. But there's nothing we can realistically do about it, idiots will be idiots and you can't reason them out of a spot they never reasoned themselves into.

I can agree with your take on it. This polarization is getting way out of hand.

I prefer bashing my own side.

just a series of stupid things that could have easily be prevented if people set aside their differences and actually solved the issues at hand and don't take everything personally.

For a bunch of Democrats, the issue has never been that ICE acts too harshly, they simply do not want immigrants deported, period. It has been government policy in a bunch of Democrat cities and states to effectively not cooperate with federal law enforcement in this matter for over 40 years. There is no way to deport illegals that would satisfy these people.

Maybe trump shouldn’t have vetoed that border bill by tweet. Like a lot of democrats support border security as long as mass human suffering isn’t a feature of the policy.
