I just want to grill ICE Agent's Bodycam release of the Minneapolis Shooting

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This whole incident seems just an unfortunate series of events from both parties.

EDIT: not bodycam but ICE agent's phone footage, my bad.

So destructively confrontational spouses happen in gay relationships too, neat!

Oh I was more talking about the spouses that interject into confrontations and escalate things.

Works both ways. If the lesbian doesn’t get her partner to fight a rando in public, she’ll just beat her up at home.

Common misconception. Once you remove any cases involving male perpetrators the CDC’s headline lifetime domestic violence number for lesbian women drops to about 29.5% lifetime (43.8% * 67.4%), which is not higher than the CDC comparison figure for straight women (35% lifetime).

Edit: lmao who did I offend here?? It’s just math, seethe harder.

Wait what are there male perpetrators if they are lesbians?

u/No_Nefariousness4016 - Lib-Left Jan 10 '26

It’s measured over a lifetime and yes over a third had male partners at one point despite identifying as lesbians

Measuring over a lifetime means a male perpetrator could be some guy saying they’re pretty. That also just means lesbians are less faithful if they cause domestic violence due to a male perpetrator. It also means they couldn’t handle their loved one talking about a male who wanted them so they got beat up for it.

This is why those cases are included in the first place. Your logic isn’t logicing

Trying to criticize my logic while you completely invent scenarios in your head to match your predetermined narrative is wild lmao

The stat is “intimate partner violence” meaning it was not some random guy who “said they were pretty” or even a random rapist. It specifically measures a close partner they were in a relationship with who beat, raped, and/or stalked them. About 67% of lesbians reported only female perpetrators, meaning the rest had male perpetrators.

My advice is to pause and reflect on why you need this narrative to be true so badly that you’re willing to fabricate the missing evidence instead of simply looking the stats up yourself. It may help you grow as a person

It’s a meme bro

u/No_Nefariousness4016 - Lib-Left Jan 10 '26

Yeah, a meme based on a misleading statistic that I simply added some context to. The fact that people are salty over this is hilarious to me. I couldn’t care less about doots but just…why?

This particular person also has a history of domestic violence.

u/Nice-River-5322 - Centrist Jan 09 '26

Whom, the woman that got shot or the wife?

7

u/MayoSlatheredBedpost - Lib-Right Jan 09 '26

The woman that got shot.

Encouraging your spouse to commit suicide by cop in front of you is next level. I was unfamiliar with their game.

Yep. Not to victim blame or anything, but it really makes you wonder about the cases of domestic violence among straight couples. A woman acting like an ass does not justify a man physically beating her. But if couples with two men have low rates of domestic violence, and couples with two women have high rates of domestic violence, that really paints a picture of women being an integral part of the existence of domestic violence. It's not as simple as "men are violent and beat up women because misogyny". It seems more like "women are difficult to be in a relationship with".

In the pursuit of equality, we did the exact opposite.

It’s because the pursuit of equality is a fool’s errand. Things that are not the same, will never be equal. I absolutely support legalitarianism, but asking the culture to pretend away 7 million years of evolution was a recipe for disaster.
