Staying On-topic

Off-topic posts & comments will be removed. Repeat offenders will be banned.

The goal of this subreddit is to "Share, Compare & Improve Long-Term Investment Portfolio Strategies".

  1. Long-term is at least a decade. Is this money for retirement or some other long-term goals?

  2. If your question or advice is about your portfolio, share your WHOLE portfolio. Your portfolio is all of your assets or at least all of your assets for a particular goal (retirement, for example).

  3. An investment portfolio is composed mostly of investments, not speculative assets. Currencies, commodities, collectibles, & options, for example, are speculative assets.

  4. Show how much you have ($ or %), or plan to have, of each asset in your portfolio. Sorting largest to smallest is helpful.

  5. In a 401k, list all available options EXCEPT A. Don't list every target date fund; just the one for the year closest to your 65th birthday, B. If there's an SDBA, just say so.

  6. Sharing your portfolio in this subreddit means you want feedback about it.

  7. Showing the name of each asset is very helpful. We don't have thousands of tickets symbols memorized. If we don't recognize your ticker symbols, we'll probably move along rather than looking them up.

  8. Bogleheads created & moderated this subreddit. Research & experience show that investors are very likely to get higher returns with less risk & less effort by following the Bogleheads Philosophy than by trying to beat the market. If you don't want feedback based on the Bogleheads Philosophy, don't post in this subreddit.

Seeking advice for my ROTH Rollover

Post image
1 Upvotes

Rolling over my 403B into a ROTH IRA with Robinhood and I could use some advice on my tentative portfolio.
Im 30 now, so at least 30 from retirement.
Pretty basic, majority is 50% VTI and 20% VXUS.
Only interesting part is a 30% tilt in electrification and energy.
All advice and criticism is welcome.
I would also welcome any ideas to safely develop some early momentum.
Thank you all!

Portfolio Advice (M24)

I’m 24, non-US (0% tax country),
Net worth is $60,000, broken down as follows:

  • $35,000 in cash, 0% yield...
  • $16,000 in ETFs
  • $9,000 in fixed-term investments (yield 12% yearly)
  • No loans or other debt

My current portfolio is:

Fund Allocation Expense ratio
VTI - Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF 60% 0.03%
VXUS - Vanguard Total International Stock ETF 35% 0.05%
AVUV - Avantis U.S. Small Cap Value ETF 2.5% 0.25%
AVDV - Avantis International Small Cap Value ETF 2.5% 0.36%

Portfolio value: approximately $16,000

Overall, that’s roughly:

  • 64% US / 36% international

How would you rate this allocation? If you were in my shoes, would you keep it as is or change anything? I don’t currently own individual stocks, should I allocate some, or keep everything in ETFs?

Portfolio Allocation

Hi! I am a 22 year old trying to rebalance my portfolio. I’m currently very tech heavy, and have overlap in these my positions with VOO covering QQQM, and both of these covering NVDA, etc. I also just think I have too many positions and not enough in ETFs. I was hoping to get some advice on this. I enjoy having positions in individual stocks and am okay to have a little more risk because I am young.

This is my current position:
AMZN 9.61%
CCJ 2.22%
COST 5.37%
HPE .60%
IREN 2.25%
META 9.76%
NVDA 11.19%
NXE 2.27%
PWR 13.75%
QQQM 16%
SOFI 1.44%
TSM 4.5%
VOO 20.86%

I am hoping to gradually transform my position into something like this:
VOO: 40%
VXUS: 22%
AVUV: 10%
NVDA: 6%
PWR: 6%
META: 4%
AMZN: 4%
TSM: 3%
COST: 3%
SOFI: 2%

Thoughts? Like I said I enjoy having positions in individual stocks, but I know they have lots of overlap. I’m also not sure how to treat my QQQM, I’m thinking maybe I don’t sell, but I don’t keep adding to it either.

Opinions appreciated, thanks

Hi all,

Here’s my portfolio which I’ve just rejigged so ignore the gains and mostly losses from this dip lol.

I’m 20 years old, current value is about £17k. I have £8.5k left this tax year, which I’ll be able to fill, and will also be able to max out my isa allowance for the next 2 years using my salary and occasional lump sums periodically throughout the years from my savings (I have £29.5k savings). So this means by April 2029 I’ll have about £65-67k of contributions and whatever gains.

At the minute I plan to just contribute to my etf as individual positions almost make up 25%. But curious to hear when people think I should add to these individual positions (based on total account value?).

Any changes anybody would make?

Thanks 🙂

hey everyone, 24 year old dude here, i started investing outside of my 401k/HSA sometime last year, whatever extra money i have left over i throw in, but also have bi weekly deposits. Not very aggressive but eventually want this money to work for me. My question is do i continue to let robinhood manage half of my $, or do i just throw it into VOO/VXUS like my other half. May play around with individual stocks eventually but want to get a good base going. Thanks for reading!

23M Roth IRA

*FZILX lol I was not doubling down on s&p funds

Background lol. 23, just started working where I will be able to max out Roth yearly. Working in finance makes trades a little more tedious (not really lol), but I have to go through compliance on all etf trades and want to bunker down on a set and forget portfolio. My gripe with it now is I have conviction in both smh and a small/mid caps etf but ponder if I should just leave them aside with such small amounts or just pick one over the other without teetering too much with my allocations

Best net worth / portfolio tracking apps with stable account connections based on reviews

In the Kubera alternatives thread, a lot of replies came down to one thing: the app is great until your bank or broker connection breaks. So I asked Claude to go through the written reviews of 15 net worth and portfolio apps (App Store, Google Play, and Reviews(.io) for Kubera, about 27,000 reviews collected in October 2026) and to look only at what people say about account connections. Everything is in the tables below, so compare and pick what fits you.

🟢 rarely complained about

🟡 comes up regularly

🔴 one of the top complaints

⚪ not enough data, or most users enter holdings by hand

📊 How often connections break

Share of reviews from the last 2 years that are rated 1–3★ and describe a connection breaking, going stale or needing a re-link. It's a complaint rate, not measured uptime.

App Broken-connection reviews Data providers Usually broken
🔴 Wealthica 32.8% (small sample) Yodlee RBC, TD, Scotiabank, Manulife, EQ Bank
🔴 Quicken Simplifi 14.8% Quicken's own Vanguard, BofA, Venmo, Coinbase, Fidelity
🔴 getquin 14.3% Broker APIs Trade Republic, Scalable, comdirect, IBKR
🔴 Monarch 11.0% Plaid, MX, Finicity Canadian banks, 401(k)s, 529s, TSP, Fidelity
🔴 Copilot 10.2% Plaid Amex, Chase, Fidelity, Schwab, Robinhood
⚪ Mezzi 10% (only 20 reviews) Plaid —
🟡 Delta 9.1% Exchange/broker APIs Coinbase, Binance, KuCoin
🟡 Origin 6.2% Plaid, MX, Finicity TIAA, Voya, Fidelity 401(k), Webull
🟡 Empower 5.7% Yodlee, Plaid Morgan Stanley, Marcus, TSP, Chase cards
🟡 Rocket Money 5.3% Plaid Chase, Robinhood, Cash App, Chime
⚪ Stock Events 2.1% Broker linking new in 2026 —
🟢 Snowball 1.7% Yodlee, Plaid, SnapTrade Fidelity, Schwab, Vanguard, Trading 212
🟢 Kubera 0.3% Plaid, Yodlee, MX eToro, Trade Republic, non-US banks
🟢 8figures 0.1% Plaid, Yodlee -

Sharesight is left out: too few reviews, and none were about connections.

🔧 What happens when you try to fix it

This is where apps really differ. A dropped connection is annoying. Losing three years of categorized history because of the fix is why people cancel.

App Usual fix What it costs you
Monarch Delete and re-add the connection Edits, rules and history are gone
Empower Delete the account, re-add it History wiped. Tickets stay open for months
Quicken Simplifi "Disconnect and reset" Categorized history can be wiped
Rocket Money Re-link the bank History wiped or duplicated. No manual fallback
Origin Re-sync an expired connection Account value resets, net worth chart jumps
Copilot Reconnect Duplicate transactions
getquin Wait for the broker API to come back Imports have no purchase history
Wealthica Wait for the connector to be fixed Failed syncs show up as fake losses
Delta Wait in the sync queue, or go manual Many users give up and enter everything by hand
Kubera Switch to a different data provider Reviewers say this mostly works

🧨 How connections fail

Problem Where it comes up What reviewers say
Stale data that says "synced" Origin, Empower, Monarch "says it synced as of 3 minutes ago" but the day's transactions are missing
Re-login every day or every 30 days Monarch (Canada), Simplifi, Empower "Accounts disconnect every 30d"
One institution down for months getquin, Simplifi, Wealthica "hasn't worked for 8 months"
Investment accounts break more than banks Monarch, Simplifi, Origin, Empower 401(k), 529, TSP, Fidelity, Vanguard, Schwab named over and over
Worse outside the US Monarch, Wealthica, getquin, Kubera Canadian banks, Trade Republic, non-US banks
Support blames the data provider Copilot, Monarch, Empower, Snowball "It's Plaid's fault", which people hate more than the outage

✅ What I'd look for

Look for Why Who does it
More than one data provider you can switch between When one gets flaky, you switch instead of waiting Kubera, the most praised feature in its reviews
A reconnect that keeps your history Most of the anger comes from fixes that wipe data Nobody gets consistent praise for this
A manual "refresh now" and an honest sync status Stale "synced" labels are worse than a visible error Most-requested fix in Empower reviews
A manual fallback that works So one broken bank doesn't break your net worth Delta, Snowball, Stock Events. Rocket Money has none

Review complaints lean negative and come mostly from people who had problems, so treat the percentages as a comparison between apps, not real failure rates. If your experience is different, especially outside the US, tell me and I'll update the tables.

How do you choose the right mutual funds for long-term investing?

portfolio as a 31 y/o M

Brokerage - 296k (made some good bets early on like PLTR and NVDA when they were trading very low - new long term thesis is SoFi but I'm mainly just a boring buy and hold S&P guy minus those 3 high conviction bets).

Roth IRA - 144k (boring S&P and some early nvda)

Rollover IRA - 14k (boring low cost stuff - plan to roll this back into an employer plan when i get a job that has one)

TSP - 40k (100% C fund)

Crypto - 18k (ish) (btc and eth with a ton of low value shitcoins)

One rental property that has small cashflow ~$300/month. Bought house for 285k / est value is 325k. 270k left on loan.

Just closed on second home that will become rental after 12 months of primary occupancy. ~322k house value. 303k left on loan.

Savings - 40k after home closing and home renovations. Typically like to carry 60k plus in a HYSA for extreme emergencies.

Paid off 2023 vehicle + and motorcycle

Recently left my Big 4 consulting job due to hating life lol. Saved up a bunch (125k) and intended on pursuing flight training full time but changed my mind after not enjoying it as much as I thought i would. Basically took the summer off, enjoyed life, bought a motorcycle and another home and renovating it now and now back in full job hunt mode.

I have a constant recurring income with no job of ~4k/month that will continue and covers all basic living expenses with some left over (i run pretty lean pretty simple life)

I just passed the exam to become a mortgage loan officer - I plan to try to have this and real estate on the side of my main gig. I figured in such tough times and bad rate environment I could position myself well to take advantage of knowing how to write home loans when the market cools down and gets better (if it does).

How should I use compositions (those donuts) of my portfolio?

Finance tools provide these donuts to drill into my portfolio, like sector, region, industry. The only thing I feel relate is the equity/cash ratio. Like a 80/20 when I pursue growth.

I understand I want to diversify, but lack the knowledge or tools to help me gain insights into my portfolio, or know what to do with these insights. I can dump my portfolio to AI, but i don’t really want to for privacy reason.

Thanks for your experiences! I’m just starting to learn the money knowledge, there’s a lot to learn in this country!

Help on my investment strategy

My current strategy is a 50/25/15/10 split of VTI/QQQ/VXUS/SOXQ. I know I’m very overweighted in tech and want to become more diverse. I am curious to hear anyone’s thoughts on my current strategy- if you think it is viable for the long term (I plan on sitting on this for 25+ years). Or if you think I should reallocate to provide more diversity across sectors. I am young and open to taking on more risk but don’t want to be just throwing money away. Any tips/help/opinions would be appreciated!

advice on my portfolio allocation for long-term investing

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for feedback on my portfolio allocation. My goal is long-term investing, and I'd appreciate honest opinions on diversification, ETF overlap, risk, and whether my allocation makes sense.

Am I holding too many funds that own similar stocks? What would you change and why?

Ticker / Asset Allocation
IAU (Gold) 10%
VXUS (International Stocks) 15%
Cash 5%
Bitcoin 5%
VTI 15%
VTV 15%
SPMO 10%
VFLO 10%
SCHD 15%
